Chapter 48 - Chapter 47

Constant stood ready.

Dyren limped back into the group.

Cyrus checked Destiny, helping her up.

Benjamin steadied himself.

Kenna hugged the silver spider tightly.

The storm quieted again.

Seryndra whispered:

"Now you see…

Why the Moon Queens hunt you.

Why the universe trembles."

She looked into Blood Reaper's eyes.

"You are destined to rule…

or be destroyed."

Blood Reaper swallowed hard.

Her flames dimmed.

The battle had only begun.

Seryndra wobbled on her knees, the gash across her chest bleeding moonlight into the snow.

Blood Reaper snapped.

Her entire aura detonated outward—

black fire

and gold celestial light

twisting around her arms.

"MOVE," she commanded.

Everyone scrambled back.

She slammed both palms onto Seryndra's chest—

FWOOM—!!!

A burst of GOLD erupted from her hands,

blinding the entire group.

Seryndra gasped—

her eyes widening as pure starfire poured into her wound.

"Reaper, STOP—your energy—!" Constant shouted.

But Blood Reaper screamed,

not in pain, but in force—

shoving all the power she had into her aunt.

Snow melted for miles.

The frozen town thawed instantly.

Clouds dissolved.

The storm vanished.

A blinding halo surrounded them.

Blood Reaper trembled violently as energy drained from her body, knees shaking, vision blurring.

Then—

BOOM.

The healing light exploded outward in a perfect sphere.

When it faded—

Seryndra stood completely healed.

Her wings brighter.

Her skin glowing.

Her lunar fire restored tenfold.

She looked down at Blood Reaper—

with awe.

With love.

With pride that she hadn't felt in centuries.

"My little one… you healed a Moon Queen."

Everyone stared in shock.

Destiny whispered,

"No demon can do that…"

Kenna whispered,

"No angel can either…"

Seryndra smiled, cupping Blood Reaper's cheeks.

"You are more than either."

Then she leaned forward—

and kissed both of Blood Reaper's cheeks softly.

Aunt to niece.

Queen to heir.

Family to family.

"You gave me back my strength," Seryndra whispered.

"One day, I will return it."

She stood tall, wings spreading wide.

Then she launched herself into the sky with a burst of frozen starlight—

and flew straight out of Earth's atmosphere.

The night sky shimmered in her wake.

Blood Reaper dropped to one knee, panting hard.

Her flames flickered weakly.

Constant rushed forward, grabbing her shoulders.

"Blood Reaper—hey—HEY—look at me."

She stared at the ground.

Her voice trembling.

"I'm still… not enough."

Constant shook his head fiercely.

"No. You just healed a Moon Queen. You did the impossible."

Blood Reaper's chest tightened.

"I still feel… useless.

I still feel like I'm missing pieces.

Like… whatever I'm meant to be isn't here yet."

Constant pulled her into his chest, holding her tightly.

"You're allowed to feel scared. But you are not useless.

And you are not alone."

She let herself lean into him—

just for a breath.

"I will save this planet," she whispered.

"I have to."

Constant nodded, resting his forehead against hers.

"And we'll do it together."

Behind them, Cyrus, Destiny, and Benjamin watched quietly.

Kenna hugged the silver spider like a teddy bear.

Keuirseu cried dramatically and said, "Love is so beautiful—"

Far behind them, leaning against the truck, Dyren watched the scene unfold.

Not with jealousy.

Not with sadness.

But with calculation.

His eyes narrowed.

A slow smile curled on his lips—

dangerous and private.

"You'll save the planet…" he murmured.

His wings twitched.

"…or you'll destroy it. Either way… I'll win."

He turned away from the group, folding his arms.

"Let them think they know the plan," he whispered to himself.

"Let her think she must die."

He stared at the sky, where Seryndra vanished.

His eyes darkened.

"I know a different path.

A better path.

And when the time comes…"

His grin sharpened.

"…I'll take everything."

He pushed off the truck and wandered into the shadows—

planning.

Waiting.

Plotting.

Because Dyren wasn't just in love.

He wasn't just jealous.

He had ambition.

And every Queen, God, and demon would soon learn—

Dyren always gets what he wants.

Chapter 47

The ground trembles.

Not a simple quake —

not a shake from underground —

THE WORLD ITSELF SHUDDERS.

Windows explode.

Streetlights fall.

Cars roll sideways.

Parents clutch their children.

People collapse to their knees, screaming.

The blizzard finishes melting —

and every frozen person begins to move again, gasping, sobbing, alive.

But terrified.

Because the earth keeps shaking.

Blood Reaper stands still in the chaos.

Her eyes narrow.

She feels it first.

Something is wrong beneath the town.

Deep wrong.

She walks — calm, fearless —

toward the center of the frozen street where the tremors are strongest.

Everyone else scatters, screaming for their lives.

Matthew and Joseph shout commands, helping families run.

"MOVE, MOVE, MOVE—GET OUT OF TOWN—NOW!"

Blood Reaper stops at the very center of the cracked asphalt.

The earth splits again.

CRAAAACK—!!

A long fissure — glowing red — tears through the street, heat rising from below.

Blood Reaper grins.

"…Hello."

Two tiny glowing eyes peek up through the darkness.

Her grin widens, twisted and hungry.

Black fire coils in her hands.

She forms a giant blazing fireball, its light reflecting in her eyes—

eyes that now look feral.

Everyone else sees it too late.

Constant looks up—

Something huge is falling out of the sky.

Fast.

Straight toward Blood Reaper.

"No—NO—!"

He takes off, blasting upward, wings flaring.

Cyrus sees it too and rockets into the sky after him.

Destiny pushes off the ground, sliding across cracked pavement toward Blood Reaper.

Big Jim yells,

"REAPER, MOVE YOUR ASS—!!"

Keuirseu stands still, shivering, as Astaroth whispers in his mind:

"Let the world burn.

Everyone you know is doomed."

Keuirseu:

"…That's NOT comforting at all!"

Thara bursts from behind a collapsed building—

eight legs, jaws dripping venom.

She lunges at Blood Reaper.

But Constant arrives first.

He shifts midair—

bones cracking, wings distorting—

becoming a massive, golden-eyed creature

with sharp rows of teeth.

CHOMP—!!!

He grabs Thara in his jaws and slams into the ground like a meteor.

Thara SCREAMS as Constant tears her in half.

Cyrus swings his sledge axe into Veira—

SLASH—!!

Veira spirals across the pavement, screeching, limbs folding backward in pain.

Arachneon freezes, staring at the remains of Thara, fear gripping her.

Kenna and Big Jim open fire—

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Silver bullets tear into Arachneon's legs, forcing her back.

Narya leaps at Blood Reaper—

Destiny intercepts, sliding across the ground like a comet,

her blade glowing white.

She slices Narya open across the stomach.

Narya wails, stumbling backward as black stomach fluid spills.

The ground splits wider beneath Blood Reaper's feet.

Dozens of clawed hands reach upward.

Then hundreds.

Demons pour out like a fountain of darkness—

serpents, winged beasts, skeleton giants, fire-skinned soldiers.

Satan's army.

Released everywhere across the planet.

Some people scream.

Others faint.

Cars crash trying to escape.

Constant sees more cracks forming across the horizon.

Cyrus roars,

"THEY'RE EVERYWHERE—THEY'RE ALL OVER THE WORLD—!!"

Blood Reaper lifts the burning fireball above her head.

Her aura goes black.

Her eyes turn void.

The hunger hits her like a tidal wave.

She throws the fireball—

BOOOOOOM—!!!

The entire crack EXPLODES.

Demons are burned alive instantly.

Some try to run.

Blood Reaper sees them.

She bares her fangs.

Then she pounces.

She moves like a predator.

Like a starved beast.

Like a creature remembering its true nature.

She slams a demon into the pavement and tears into its flesh with her teeth.

People scream as she devours them—

ripping, biting, burning their bodies.

Blood Reaper's face is covered in black ash and demon blood.

Her eyes shine wildly.

She looks like the monster they told stories about.

And she doesn't care.

She lunges at another demon—

and another—

and another.

A trail of bodies burns behind her.

Destiny stops, horrified.

Kenna's voice shakes.

"She's… she's not herself…"

Constant lands, shifting back into his normal form, panting.

He sees Blood Reaper tearing apart another demon.

His heart drops.

Cyrus murmurs,

"She's going feral."

Dyren watches her, smiling with dark admiration.

"This… is what she really is," he whispers.

But only the silver spider seems to understand the truth.

He crawls up Kenna's shoulder and hisses softly.

Even he is afraid.

Blood Reaper raises her head from a demon carcass—

blood dripping from her mouth—

and she growls.

The crack beneath her widens into a massive chasm.

More demons climb out.

Blood Reaper lights up with black-gold flame—

Her voice echoing across the entire broken town:

"SEND ME MORE."
