As for everyone else, apart from the minor stuff, everyone was able to get to their position relatively safely.
Kairo meanwhile could be seen looking down on the holy knight. Something felt off to him.
"Die, you scum!" the man would roar, as several light rays launched toward Kairo.
Like an angel in the sky, Kairo would manage to dodge each and every single attack launched at him.
The holy knight would create a sword of pure light, the halo above his head glowing a bit, as all eight of his wings flapped, giving him the gift of flight.
He had a weird black smoke behind him, showing that his fruit was awakened.
After all, he had the Hito-Hito no Mi, model Seraphim.
He was basically an angel-human. It was a Zoan type devil fruit; its abilities included being able to summon light and manipulate it, but that wasn't it.
The light would purify anything it hit.
Kairo would fly over most of the attacks, yet something was tugging at the back of his mind.
'It's so slow...' he would think to himself.
This guy was a Holy Knight, the biggest of bad guys ever.
They were introduced very late into One Piece, so Kairo grinded like crazy in order to fight them, yet—
{DIVINE JUDGMENT}
Kairo would fly out of the way as a giant ray of light came from the sky and incinerated everything that stood within a six-foot radius of the laser.
Grabbing his sword tightly, his blade would turn black, his gaze turning a deeper shade of red.
{Divine Departure}
Without giving the holy knight a chance to breathe, Kairo would release a move he had copied — not a move he himself personally saw, as after all, when Roger died, he was still new to the world.
Yet David had watched enough One Piece vids and Shanks hype videos to see how the move looked.
And with Kairo's control over his haki being higher than the vast majority of the verse — hell, it might even be the best, as who else do you know can make a damn haki clone or haki butterfly?
All of this to say, in terms of shaping haki, he was good, and making that simple slash attack was quite easy for him.
The holy knight's eyes would widen as the slash of pure condensed Conqueror's Haki rushed at him.
{Divine Shield}
A barrier made out of light would appear in front of him.
"You cannot destroy my Divine Shield, you filthy Lunarien."
The racism seemed to run deep in this one.
"I don't need to," Kairo would say — he was already behind the man.
He had gripped his sword quite tightly.
The holy knight would have to choose: either get his back slashed, or try to avoid getting his back slashed but get his front slashed, since he needed to focus on the shield in order to keep it up.
He did not even get the time to think before his shield shattered, the Divine Departure cutting through it like a hot knife through butter.
"Hakoku."
And from the back, the slash Kairo had planned would go through the man easily, slicing him in half. In the end, both of Kairo's attacks would clash against each other inside the man.
His skin had offered no protection at all.
Kairo would slap a paper bomb on the man... like 20 of them, 'cause you know, fuck him.
Kairo would teleport away, watching as the holy knight in the sky began losing his wings, then his arms and legs, as his body was being ripped apart due to the haki clashing inside of him. It was like getting sliced over and over again.
Shit was very painful.
"Boom."
As those words left his lips, the sky would have a beautiful red explosion happening. Blood would splatter everywhere as the explosive tags detonated — each of them being Kairo's best work, packing enough of a punch to destroy an entire ship by themselves. One of them would be enough to brutally damage, if not almost kill, a giant.
And Kairo decided to use 20 of them, amping them up with his Conqueror's Haki. Little to say, nothing short of Emperor- or Admiral-tier durability would get you out of that situation unscathed.
The wonderful explosion would last for a solid five seconds... As the explosion died down, a lump of flesh would fall on the floor, 40 feet away from Kairo, who had a cold look on his face, watching as that lump slowly regenerated.
Very slowly the lump would begin to form: first the bones, then the nerves, then the muscles, and finally the skin.
Just like that, the head was formed.
The holy knight's hand wasn't even formed yet — he was a nugget on the floor, with no hands nor feet, just his head and shoulders.
"You bastard, you will pay for such insolence!"
Kairo didn't even look mad his attack didn't work.
He would walk closer to the holy knight; something wasn't adding up. This man had an awakened Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit.
There was no way.
"Was that your all?" Kairo genuinely looked confused.
"Are you mocking me, you rat?" The holy knight would burn brightly.
{Divine SMITE}
From the sky, a giant light beam would come down, slamming hard on Kairo, incinerating everything in its path.
"DIE for your arrogance, you foolish bug!"
The disgust in the holy knight's voice was evident. His ass didn't even realize that he had stopped healing altogether — that leftover of Kairo's Conqueror's Haki still remained in his system.
