Chapter 237: You Brat—Your Grandpa Is Not Some Lovelorn Fool!

The Spirit Transferring Pagoda once had its own academy—an institution renowned for its specialized soul spirit programs.

But after Douluo University was founded, Qian Gu Dongfeng decided to go all in. The old academy was dissolved and merged directly into Douluo University, forming an extensive curriculum dedicated to spirit-soul studies.

These courses were now taught by elites from the Pagoda itself—Title Douluo, Super Douluo, vice-tower masters, even the tower master himself.

At that moment, inside the Pagoda headquarters, Qian Gu Dongfeng sat in his office reviewing documents before preparing for a public lecture.

It had been months since Douluo University's opening. It was about time he made an appearance.

"That ungrateful brat!" he grumbled, still fuming over his earlier exchange with his grandson, Qian Gu Zhangting.

What did that kid know? Did he really think inheriting the Tower Master's position was as easy as inheriting a family heirloom?

The Leng family, second only to the Qian Gu clan in influence, had long been eyeing the seat of power.

And the Leng sisters' talent wasn't inferior. Becoming Limit Douluo was only a matter of time—if not for their emotional baggage.

He sighed, rubbing his temples at the thought of them.

Both had once been outstanding geniuses… until love broke them. Leng Yaoyu had spurned his affections for Yun Ming, and Leng Yulai had nearly gone mad, descending into the path of an evil soul master.

Qian Gu Dongfeng's heart burned with frustration.

He was the dignified Tower Master! What did he lack compared to Yun Ming?

Alright, maybe a little charm—but Yun Ming had been devoted to one woman all those years, their affection publicly unshakable.

And now his own grandson dared to mock him about it!

Qian Gu Dongfeng slammed his desk, pulled up a communication screen, and called Vice Tower Master Leng Yaoyu.

A flat, cold voice answered, purely businesslike. "Yes, Tower Master. What is it?"

He began with polite small talk about operations, then added warmly, "You've been overworking yourself managing the Heaven Dou branch. Remember to rest more—and drink plenty of hot water."

"…Do you have anything else?" she said curtly.

"Well, Leng Yaoyu, it's been a while since we've had dinner together. How about—"

"If there's nothing important, I'm hanging up."

Qian Gu Dongfeng froze.

"Wait… Hello? Hello?"

The call cut off.

Scowling, he called again. "I just wanted to chat a little, Leng—"

"You sick or something?" came her bite before the line went dead again.

A slow grin spread across his face. "Ah… that felt good."

His secretaries all exchanged uncomfortable glances.

Dongfeng straightened, coughed twice, and barked, "What are you all looking at? Have you finished the lecture slides? No? Redo them—the formatting is hideous."

One secretary sighed internally. You didn't even look at them, sir…

"Oh, right," he added, "what's the status of those Shrek Academy students?"

"Already climbing the Spirit Tower," one replied professionally. "Everything is handled according to protocol—no favoritism."

To Dongfeng's credit, he hadn't targeted the Shrek group at all. Even if they acquired powerful spirit souls, in the end those souls would still belong to the Pagoda system.

Though the Pagoda dominated the soul master world, not everyone fully trusted contracting spirit souls. After all, living side by side with an external consciousness meant sharing secrets. Could a soul truly keep them?

Even so, the benefits were undeniable. Soul spirits enhanced a soul master's strength as much as battle armor—perhaps more. At the same level, a soul master with a spirit soul was vastly superior to one without.

Still, he had sent one reminder to the tower's resident spirits: "They're from Shrek Academy. Consider your choices carefully."

Spirit souls weren't immortal. The Pagoda merely gave them a second life. Without proper nourishment, they too would eventually fade away.

For many near extinction, contracting with a human was a gamble for survival.

"Did you hear? The Tower Master of the Spirit Pagoda is coming to Douluo University for a public lecture!"

"What?! Who's giving the talk?"

"The Tower Master himself! And maybe even Emperor Tian someday!"

Truth be told, Di Tian's fame far outshined Dongfeng's.

He wasn't just a celebrity—he was a cultural icon. Across the Federation, he had appeared on television countless times. A true dragon, immortal, powerful, and, worst of all… eternally handsome.

Once a legend, always a legend. Who didn't love dragons?

"I wish Emperor Tian would come, just once. I want to see a real dragon!"

"Dream on! He's way too busy. Even having Tower Master Qian Gu Dongfeng teach us is a miracle."

"By the way, the lecture costs merit credits—limited seats only!"

When Shrek's visiting students heard about the Tower Master's upcoming lecture, their excitement peaked again—right on the heels of securing their new spirit souls.

Shrek may have its share of top powerhouses—Yun Ming, Long Yeyue, the Sea God Pavilion—but none of them ever held public classes.

This was their chance to learn from a Limit Douluo firsthand.

They raced back to Douluo University and, using their exchange student privileges, squeezed in.

Douluo University, Academic Hall.

The university's largest lecture amphitheater—capable of seating 1,800.

Seats were distributed by merit credit tiers, ensuring only hardworking students earned front-row access.

It wasn't about collecting points for prestige—it was about motivating students to earn merit through study and contribution.

Without such systems, everyone would just coast to graduation.

The hall's towering dome gleamed under multicolored soul-glass light, bathing the stage in an almost divine glow.

On stage, Qian Gu Dongfeng stood straight-backed, hands clasped behind him, radiant with poise and authority.

Though appearing forty or fifty, his true age was far older—yet like all powerful soul masters, his vigor defied time.

His face resembled his grandson's by seven-tenths—handsome, sharp, exuding intellect.

He wore not the ornate robes of a Tower Master but a deep-purple scholar's gown, modest yet impeccable.

A dignified professor rather than an untouchable ruler.

"Ahem… Good afternoon, students," his rich voice carried through the hall. "There's no need for introductions. Here at Douluo University, standing at this podium, I am a teacher first. You may call me 'Instructor.'"

"Stand!" Qian Gu Zhangting yelled instinctively.

"Teacher, good afternoon!" the crowd chorused.

"Please, be seated."

He nodded and gestured. The massive screen behind him lit up instantly with a presentation.

"Today's topic," he announced, "is 'The Flaws of Traditional Shrek Soul Masters and the Evolution of the New Era Soul Master.'"

In the third row, the Shrek students froze mid-smile.

"...What?" they all thought at once.
