Chapter 114: Tang San's Mother Doesn't Obey!

The Tianhai Grand Tournament had left everyone richer than ever.

Gu Yue gained the fame she wanted, Tang Wulin secured the full support of the Blacksmith Association and inherited the Crimson Dragon Nine Forms. He would later study it under Turbid World Douluo at Douluo University as part of the exchange program with Shrek Academy.

The others were now on the Federation and Spirit Transmission Tower's priority training lists.

Moreover, each one received a ten-thousand-year spirit bone perfectly suited to them—an irresistible reward.

Even Wei Xiaofeng, whose spirit and faith in Shrek had been shattered, held tightly to his spirit bone, unwilling to let go.

He hadn't done a thing—and yet, he'd earned a ten-thousand-year spirit bone for free. What was that if not pure luck?

As for his broken spiritual faith?

It was nothing compared to a ten-thousand-year spirit bone.

Shrek Academy? It could go to hell.

"Damn, that's sweet!"

Wei Xiaofeng decided that Shrek wasn't for him anymore. If he couldn't be the Sea God Pavilion Master, maybe he'd aim for something better—

like becoming the Spirit Transmission Tower's Master?

Even after the tournament ended, none of them got a vacation. Instead, they were immediately pulled into second-profession training.

Of course, those who already had one—like Gu Yue, Huo Yun'er, and Tang Wulin with their forging talents—were excused.

The rest were expected to pick up a secondary specialization.

In the modern world, soul power was still king, but supporting fields like battle armor crafting and mecha design had become vital in raising a soul master's overall strength.

A soul master had to stand out somehow—either by reaching the peak of soul power or mastering a second craft.

If you didn't do either... you might as well go home and plant crops.

"Teacher Wu," Jiang Chen said lazily, "I'm already a rank-two blacksmith. Can I take some time off?"

Wu Zhangkong glanced at the badge on his chest, expression exasperated. "Fine. Go."

He truly didn't understand this boy. Why was someone so young so cautious, so unwilling to show off?

Couldn't he be a little more like Gu Yue?

Jiang Chen, internally: Absolutely not.

That one time flexing in front of Yun Ming had been enough for him. Once was satisfying—anything more was boring.

As he strolled leisurely out of the academy, he couldn't shake a strange chill.

"Why does my head feel cold all of a sudden?"

He blinked and opened the entrance to his Miniature God Realm—home sweet home.

"Jiang! Chen!!!"

The instantly recognizable voice made his scalp tighten.

Standing before him was a noble woman in a flowing blue-gold gown. Her sea-blue eyes gleamed like flawless sapphires—full of fury.

Having absorbed energy from the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well, she had regained her full memory, even if her strength hadn't yet completely recovered.

Every memory had returned—she was the Blue Silver Emperor, wife of Tang Hao, mother of Tang San, and future Goddess of Nature, destined to be the planet's natural core.

But all of that had been destroyed by the Federation.

I'm sorry, my little San, she thought, rage boiling over. Mother failed you.

She glared at Jiang Chen.

"Did you forget our agreement?"

Ah Yin had never expected this outcome. She had given him her sacred spirit energy, believing he'd keep his word and let her go.

But this man was insatiable.

He wanted everything.

"You!" she shouted. "Release me, now! My husband and my son will never forgive you!"

Jiang Chen narrowed his eyes. "Please, calm down, madam."

Calm down? Calm down!?

Her son's thousand-year plan depended on her restoration, and now this human dared command her?

"Calm? You dare tell me to calm down? I swear, if you—"

He cut her off with a soft snap of his fingers.

"I suggest you remember your position—as a prisoner."

"What have you done to me?!"

Ah Yin gasped as her body froze, collapsing involuntarily to her knees. No matter how she struggled, she couldn't resist his commands.

"You… you beast!"

"Hmm?" Jiang Chen looked at her coolly.

As the Empress of the Blue Silver Grass, her body was far softer, far more flexible than a normal human's.

Not that he planned to take advantage—he wasn't that kind of man.

All he did was assert control, giving her basic orders to ensure cooperation. Resistance meant progress was impossible.

Proper obedience could be trained—eventually.

And if not… there were always higher powers.

If needed, he could unleash the Silver Dragon King. Even a god-rank soul beast like the Blue Silver Emperor would have to submit before that divine aura.

To Jiang Chen, the core essence of his Miniature God Realm didn't require talent or freedom—it required obedience.

Unfortunately, Ah Yin's loyalty was unshakable. That would make harmony between them impossible.

Thankfully, Electrolux's necromancy and divine construction spells were advanced enough to handle her containment.

After all, the Blue Silver Emperor did possess a secondary divine position.

Objective One: Create the God Realm (in progress)

Objective Two: Construct a planetary-class battleship (not yet begun)

The latter would require twelve god-class mechas working together—a dream Jiang Chen refused to abandon.

"Mecha manufacturing, mecha repair, mecha design—three disciplines at once… why not?" he muttered.

Though there were said to be four recognized sub-professions, in truth they all fell under the categories of blacksmithing and soul engineering.

Soul engineers needed to be polymaths—masters of everything but stretched too thin in soul cultivation. That's why the ancient Sun and Moon engineers, obsessed with science, were often weak in raw power.

They had the talent of soul masters, but not the balance. Energy divided was strength lost.

Over time, the field diversified. Research for researchers, artisans for crafting, pilots for operation.

Thus the modern "three secondary professions" were officially defined—limiting waste, refining focus.

Even now, on the Douluo Continent, soul power reigns supreme.

Jiang Chen, however, continued his research into soul engineering and mecha integration, fields in which he'd proven remarkably gifted.

"Come out. Evil Eye."

From his coat pocket crawled two black tendrils, gripping a massive crimson eyeball covered in gold-runic tentacles.

The Evil-Eyed Tyrant Clan's leader himself.

The monstrous tentacles clutched stacks of textbooks: Origins of Soul Tools, Silvermoon Douluo: Crafting the Life-Bound Core, Three Years Simulation, Five Years Soul Engineering, and others.

Hearing Jiang Chen's summons, the enormous crimson eye rolled in exasperation.

He had been working for Jiang Chen for ten thousand years—and was still being overworked!
