Chapter 210 - Chapter 210: Luo Ling Unaffected by the City of Slaughter

Chapter 210: Luo Ling Unaffected by the City of Slaughter

As Tang Hao led Tang San to the City of Slaughter, Luo Ling—through his connection with the Primordial God—became aware of their situation.

At the entrance town to the City of Slaughter, Tang Hao and Tang San entered a tavern.

As soon as they stepped inside, Tang Hao told Tang San, "Kill everyone in here!"

His tone was icy. The tavern's patrons froze in disbelief, and so did Tang San.

"Who do these idiots think they are, saying they'll kill us all? Don't let your tongue run wild—you might pay for it!"

"I'll slaughter you myself!"

"Get them! This must be a test from the City of Slaughter—if we kill them, we'll gain entry!"

After a brief hush, chaos erupted.

Eyes blazing with murderous intent, the patrons charged at Tang Hao and Tang San.

Unmoved, Tang Hao said evenly, "The place you're heading to is built on killing and death."

"Everyone here is a vile criminal. Leave none alive!"

At last, Tang San moved. Mercy had no place here—he released his malevolent Blue Silver Grass.

Five spirit rings—yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black—shone as his fourth ring glowed, sending Blue Silver Blades slicing through the crowd.

In an instant, several patrons were killed, and the rest—rather than recoil in fear—lunged at Tang San with even greater ferocity.

His Blue Silver Grass swept and impaled his enemies, overwhelming the remaining men.

There were a bit over twenty spirit masters in the tavern, the strongest only a Spirit Ancestor—no match for Tang San.

Before long, all were slaughtered. Even the inn staff met their end.

Tang Hao nodded in approval. "You adapt quickly."

Tang San looked at him. "I want to become stronger. I'll trample Luo Ling myself!"

There was venom in his voice.

Hearing that name, Tang Hao's expression darkened as well, but he said nothing more.

He went to the bar, pulled out his Haotian Hammer, and smashed it into the floor, revealing a black, gaping hole.

A frigid wind poured up from below.

"This is the entrance to the City of Slaughter?" Tang San muttered. Glancing back, he found Tang Hao gone.

Without hesitation, he leapt into the darkness.

Once Tang San disappeared, the tavern fell silent. After a while, two figures entered from outside.

"Looks like someone cleared the way for us," said Ghost Douluo, glancing at the carnage without surprise.

Luo Ling just smiled, understanding how everything unfolded. Tang Hao and Tang San had just left; Tang Hao, the God of Slaughter, only pretended to leave—secretly, he entered the city to protect Tang San.

"Uncle Ghost, I'm going in too!" Luo Ling said eagerly.

Before Ghost Douluo could respond, Luo Ling vanished into thin air.

Ghost Douluo blinked, then sighed helplessly and turned away.

Luo Ling, using his Ghost Veil, slipped unseen into the abyss.

In the City of Slaughter—realm of the God of Asura and the crucible for inheritors—spirit abilities could not be used.

But Luo Ling's Ghost Veil remained active even as he entered. This surprised him greatly.

He arrived inside the city, where Tang San was already engaged in fierce combat with the fearsome Knight Scott.

Without his spirit skills and with the Haotian Hammer crippled, Tang San struggled, but the teachings of Xuantian Record gradually gave him the upper hand.

In a flash, Tang San drew a jet-black hammer from his soul tool—it looked much like the Haotian Hammer.

The Blue Silver Grass was weak in close combat, but in the City of Slaughter, a good weapon was crucial.

This hammer had been forged by Tang Hao, modeled after the Haotian Hammer.

With it in hand, Tang San unleashed his Great Disorder Wind Hammer Technique, channeling raw force through the weapon and striking the fearsome knight.

Scott was blasted away, his armor shattered, steed slain.

Tang San's face finally relaxed—he had triumphed more by surprise than strength.

Luo Ling watched silently from the darkness. Compared with the original events, Tang San was far weaker now; no second awakening, no Haotian Hammer—his abilities were incomplete.

Just as Tang San prepared to enter the city, the battered knight struggled up and called, "Wait!"

"You want to stop me?" Tang San frowned.

"No. You've earned the right to enter." The knight shook his head, handing over a black token. "This is your pass. Someone will greet you inside."

Tang San took the token in silence, then strode toward the city gates.

Once he disappeared, the knight breathed a sigh of relief—only to notice, seemingly from nowhere, a black-robed, masked figure before him. The person's aura exuded an unsettling evil.

"Give me a token as well," Luo Ling intoned darkly.

Fear sweat broke out on the knight's brow—the robed man filled him with nameless dread.

Without a word, he fumbled out another token and presented it respectfully.

Luo Ling took the token and vanished—utterly without a trace.

The knight stared wide-eyed, certain he must be hallucinating.

No spirit abilities should work in the City of Slaughter—how could anyone just disappear?

Unable to make sense of it, he pushed the thought aside after a while.

By then, Luo Ling had entered the City of Slaughter proper.

His Ghost Veil was still active. Luo Ling's expression turned odd—he could use spirit skills here! This flew in the face of the original rules.

He tested more skills: dark silk threads flicked out, Raven Feathers gathered at his hand, his Desire Soulcloak shimmered across his body—one after another, each activated perfectly.

All signs were clear: here in the City of Slaughter, his soul skills still worked!

Other than the King of Slaughter or those who survived the Hell Road, no one should have been able to do that.
