Chapter 139: Hidden Weapons at the Auction – Part 2

The group entered the grand Heaven Dou Auction House. Yu Xiaogang led Tang San and the others into an appraisal room, while Ning Rongrong brought Luo Ling and the rest to a private VIP suite.

"Luo Ling, my young friend, long time no see," Ning Fengzhi greeted warmly when he saw them enter.

"Uncle Ning," Luo Ling replied with a polite nod, then asked curiously, "Is there something at this auction worth your attention today?"

Ning Fengzhi smiled and shook his head, then glanced briefly at Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing before saying, "You'll understand soon enough, my young friend."

Catching the hint, Luo Ling understood at once—it was something that probably shouldn't be discussed in front of the girls.

He didn't press further, sitting down casually while silently releasing a wisp of darkness that floated out of the suite.

The shadow shape-shifted into a crow and glided silently toward the appraisal room.

Outside the appraisal room, the crow landed noiselessly on the window ledge.

Inside, Yu Xiaogang and his group stood before a middle-aged appraiser.

"I heard you wish to auction a spirit bone?" the man asked, his tone carrying barely restrained excitement.

A spirit bone—such an item was exceedingly rare. Even a decade-old or century-old spirit bone could fetch a fortune.

"That's correct," Yu Xiaogang said proudly, his tone tinged with arrogance.

They had come to the Heaven Dou Auction House to sell the one they'd found after months of hunting in the Sunset Forest.

It was a one-hundred-year-old right arm bone dropped from a Wind Mandrill. Its ability: to release a single wind blade with roughly the strength of a century-level spirit skill.

Not particularly powerful, and truth be told, Tang San and the others hadn't been impressed—but a bone was still a bone.

Thus, Yu Xiaogang decided to auction it.

"Could you please show it to me?" the appraiser asked respectfully.

Without hesitation, Yu Xiaogang retrieved the spirit bone from his soul tool and handed it over.

A faint aura of wind emanated from the pale bone.

The appraiser's excitement quickly settled. With his experienced eye, he could tell instantly—it was only barely a hundred years old and on the lower end of quality.

Still, he maintained a professional demeanor, examining it thoroughly before saying steadily, "This is indeed a century-grade right arm bone, most likely from a Wind Mandrill. Its spirit ability appears to generate a blade of compressed wind."

"The quality is average, but it should start at around fifty thousand gold soul coins. Does that sound acceptable?"

At his words, Ma Hongjun and Oscar's eyes widened in disbelief.

Fifty thousand gold soul coins! The most wealth they'd ever seen was barely a few dozen.

Yu Xiaogang thought for a moment. He knew well that the bone's quality was mediocre, so fifty thousand was a reasonable estimate.

He nodded. "That's fine. Please proceed with the auction."

The appraiser smiled. A successful sale meant a nice commission for him.

After handing the item over to the staff, Yu Xiaogang led his group to the main auction hall.

In the VIP chamber, Luo Ling now fully understood why they'd come.

So they had managed to obtain a spirit bone after all. Apparently, the hunting in Sunset Forest had been fruitful.

He smiled faintly. A mere century bone wasn't worth his attention anyway.

The auction soon began.

One item after another was presented on stage. Among them, Luo Ling noticed a cat-eared girl being auctioned—Ning Fengzhi eventually placed a bid and purchased her.

The sight made Luo Ling chuckle faintly. This was unmistakably the same auction described in the original story—where Tang San made his deal with the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect and sold his hidden weapons for five million gold soul coins.

Eventually, the century-old spirit bone appeared on stage.

Though not powerful, its rarity caused quite a stir among the crowd.

After several bids, it sold for one hundred thousand gold soul coins.

The next item was rolled onto the stage atop a small cart—an elegantly crafted metal device unhidden by any cloth.

The host began the introduction: "Our next item is a weapon of remarkable design. Our appraisers were highly impressed by its ingenuity."

"It is called the Shadow Sand Shooter. It can instantly fire thirty-six steel needles capable of piercing one-centimeter-thick steel plates—and each needle is coated with a paralytic poison!"

As the host explained, Tang San froze completely.

His gaze locked on the weapon in disbelief.

That was his design—his own Tang Sect hidden weapon!

"How… how can this be?" he muttered under his breath. "How could anyone else know how to craft a Shadow Sand Shooter?"

Meanwhile, in the VIP box, Luo Ling showed little reaction.

In the original story, Tang San had indeed auctioned off the Shadow Sand Shooter himself. But when Luo Ling thought back to the appraisal room earlier, he realized something—Tang San hadn't brought out any hidden weapons for sale this time.

A single glance to the side confirmed his suspicion—Ning Fengzhi was smiling knowingly in his direction.

Luo Ling instantly understood.

This Shadow Sand Shooter wasn't Tang San's item—it was Ning Fengzhi's.

His lips twitched slightly in amusement. Didn't that mean Tang San was currently sitting down there watching someone else auction his secret invention?

He couldn't help but be curious how Tang San would react.

Below, in the seating area, Tang San stared blankly at the stage.

Everything about the weapon was identical—every mechanism, every curve—it was a Tang Sect creation.

But how could his exclusive hidden weapon appear here?

Suddenly, a thought struck him like lightning.

He remembered the Evil Master's words during their battle at the Great Spirit Arena.

"I'll be taking your Xuan Tian Treasure Record."

It was him.

The Evil Master.

Tang San's pupils shrank sharply.

Now he understood—finally understood!

The Evil Master had stolen the Xuan Tian Treasure Record, his sect's most closely guarded manual, and now others could reproduce his weapons.

"Damn you, Evil Master!" Tang San growled inwardly, glaring at the stage as his rage simmered. He wanted nothing more than to storm onto the floor and smash that weapon to pieces.

"Xiao San? Xiao San!" Yu Xiaogang's voice snapped him out of it.

Tang San turned, seeing his teacher's puzzled face.

"Teacher…"

"What's wrong?" Yu Xiaogang asked.

"I'm fine," Tang San forced a smile. "Just… happy about selling that spirit bone."

Yu Xiaogang nodded without suspicion. "It was only a hundred thousand gold soul coins," he said plainly, turning toward the exit. "The auction's nearly done. We should leave."

"Wait, Teacher," Tang San suddenly said, pointing at the stage. "I want to buy that weapon!"

All eyes turned toward him.
