Chapter 108: You've Ruined Your Blue Silver Grass

Tang San's expression twisted with ferocity, the purple glow on his Eight Spider Lances pulsing with deadly intent.

As long as he struck, he believed the venom of the lances would be enough to defeat the Warlock easily.

He would end the myth of the Warlock's invincibility—his name would be sung across the continent.

But just as excitement burned in his chest, the space around the blue-silver vines and web that bound the Warlock began to tremble slightly.

Tang San didn't notice; he simply drove his Eight Spider Lances down forcefully.

He could feel it—his lances had pierced into something solid.

The man was still inside!

A triumphant grin spread across Tang San's face as he continued to drive his Eight Spider Lances again and again into the target.

Around the arena, the audience stared in horror. A barrage like that could turn any man into a beehive!

But Tang San didn't stop—he stabbed dozens of times before finally retracting his Blue Silver Grass, revealing the result beneath.

The dark figure was impaled through the chest, black aura seeping from the wounds. To all appearances, the Warlock had truly been pierced through.

The entire arena froze in shock. The Warlock had become a legend in Soto City—how could he be defeated by a Spirit Elder?

Ning Rongrong almost rushed onto the stage upon seeing Luo Ling impaled, but when she looked more closely, she sensed something wrong.

No blood flowed from the wounds where the Eight Spider Lances pierced the shadowy figure.

"Haha! The great Warlock? So that's all you amount to! Hiding your face behind shadows—I'll show everyone the truth of who you really are!" Tang San shouted, overflowing with excitement.

He stepped eagerly toward the "Warlock," but as he approached, two crimson eyes gleamed within the gloom.

"Are you happy?" the pierced figure said softly, tilting its head to meet Tang San's gaze.

Cold dread washed through Tang San.

"You… you're still alive?" he stammered, stumbling backward several steps.

His Blue Silver Grass lashed out again, while the Eight Spider Lances stabbed forward with renewed ferocity.

But the sight that followed chilled everyone's blood.

The horrific spiked limbs drove into the Warlock's body again and again—yet he didn't move. The figure simply took each strike, advancing step by slow step, like an immortal demon.

"What are you?!" Tang San cried, panic creeping into his voice as he retreated rapidly, continuing his desperate assault.

The audience was struck silent, eyes fixed in awe and terror on the surreal battle before them.

Elsewhere on the battlefield, Yu Tianheng was still locked in combat with the shadow puppet. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught glimpses of Tang San's struggle with the "Warlock."

"You really shouldn't get distracted in battle," a mocking voice whispered near his ear.

Yu Tianheng's heart lurched. He turned sharply—only to see the cold puppet beside him curl its lips in a faint smile.

Even though its face was obscured, that curved mouth was unmistakably grinning.

He instinctively tried to retreat, but it was too late. A pale hand landed lightly upon his shoulder.

The next instant, the world spun—the ground vanished beneath him.

Luo Ling effortlessly lifted Yu Tianheng by the arm and threw him through the air, straight toward Tang San.

The two crashed together and tumbled across the stage, rolling meters away in a cloud of dust.

That was when the realization struck the audience.

The figure Tang San had been fighting wasn't the real Warlock at all—it was just another puppet. The true Warlock had already broken free long ago.

Luo Ling approached his Crow Shadow Puppet, the two standing side by side, looking down upon Tang San from above.

"Is that all your strength?" Luo Ling asked quietly.

Tang San and Yu Tianheng supported each other, struggling to stand, both of them realizing they had been fooled completely.

"Who taught you to cultivate your Blue Silver Grass like this?" Luo Ling said suddenly, his voice drifting lazily across the arena.

At those words, Yu Xiaogang's face darkened instantly in the stands.

"Entanglement, Parasitic Seed, Spiderweb Restraint. Aside from Parasitic Seed, the other two are useless techniques."

"Blue Silver Grass is a plant-type martial soul. Its natural property is to entangle. As your control improves, you can manipulate it freely to restrict your opponents without needing extra skills."

Luo Ling's voice carried clearly as he spoke, his dark threads moving to illustrate his point.

The shadowy silks twisted and coiled in midair like Blue Silver Grass, wrapping around the dazed Yu Tianheng and binding him tightly.

Then, shifting again, the dark threads spread out in a web across the floor—almost identical to Tang San's Spiderweb Restraint—covering Yu Tianheng beneath it.

"See? Whether it's entanglement or webbing, my dark threads can do it just as easily."

"But you squandered two valuable spirit rings on techniques that achieved nothing new."

"The one who taught you to do that must be quite the 'clever fool'—a brilliant way to ruin a disciple," Luo Ling said mockingly.

The crowd's attention immediately drifted to Yu Xiaogang, whose face had turned crimson with rage and shame.

They all recalled his earlier introduction—how he had proudly declared himself the trainer of the Shrek Team. And now, the Warlock's derisive words left no doubt as to whom he was mocking.

"Don't talk nonsense! My teacher is a master of spirit theory! There's nothing wrong with my choice of soul rings!" Tang San shouted back, his voice tight with fury. "Entanglement and Spiderweb Restraint aren't about control—they carry the most important aspect, poison!"

Luo Ling chuckled softly at those words.

"Poison?" he said with amusement. "You think adding poison to your Blue Silver Grass was a good idea?"

"What do you mean?" Tang San demanded, frowning.

Luo Ling shook his head slightly, pausing before he spoke again.

"Do you even understand the true nature of Blue Silver Grass?"

"In the world of Soul Masters, Blue Silver Grass grows everywhere. Its greatest trait is its vitality."

"Wildfire can't destroy it; the spring winds bring it back to life."

"But you…" he let the word linger, "you never tried to develop its true potential. Instead, you corrupted it by adding poison."

Around the arena, silence fell—those with keen minds already understood what Luo Ling meant.

"You never explored its strength through life. You twisted it by giving it death," Luo Ling said, his tone calm yet cutting.

"You abandoned its essence, destroyed its nature. Even if your poison worked, how could it ever compare to martial souls born with toxic properties?"

Tang San's expression stiffened. For the first time, he couldn't find an answer.

"You've already ruined your Blue Silver Grass," Luo Ling said softly, almost as if in pity.
