Chapter 189 - Chapter 189: The End of Captain John

Chapter 189: The End of Captain John

Outside the protective bubble of Fish-Man Island, Princess Akatsuki and Otohime came to a stop, exchanging a glance—neither of them could pass through the barrier by force.

"I'll handle it."

Luo Han approached and extended his psychic shield to encompass the two of them. With pure force, he pushed through the protective bubble. It couldn't resist his telekinetic power.

Soon, they passed through the barrier and emerged above Fish-Man Island.

"My father is over there!"

Akatsuki pointed ahead to the right, where the sound of battle still echoed. Clearly, the fight between John and the Ryugu King was ongoing.

"Understood."

Luo Han nodded. With a flick of his will, he said calmly, "Done."

He accelerated the group toward the battlefield.

"Hmm!"

Akatsuki was startled and looked at Luo Han with a hint of awe. "You can control someone like this from so far away?"

When they arrived, Captain John was completely restrained—his entire body trembling violently, unable to break free from invisible bindings.

Akatsuki had seen Luo Han use this move back in Sabaody against the Celestial Dragon's guards, but she hadn't expected he could do the same to someone like John at this distance. It proved that Luo Han's strength was far above John's.

"Haha! Surprised? Luo Han is really strong," Aishi said proudly, thrilled to see Akatsuki so shocked.

Seeing others impressed by Luo Han's power made her just as happy, as if being praised herself.

"This woman's getting cuter by the day," Luo Han chuckled inwardly.

He guided everyone to land gently on the ground.

Looking around, they found themselves in a sunken plaza.

If memory served, this would one day be the site where Pirate King Luffy fought 50,000 enemies—an iconic spot.

Atop the plaza, a crowd of pirates watched the unfolding scene in confusion. They hadn't noticed John was restrained and thought he was still standing strong, marveling at his fearlessness.

Only a few pirate captains noticed the massive figure sleeping next to Luo Han and froze.

"Father!"

Akatsuki called out as she and Otohime rushed to the Ryugu King's side. He had already lost consciousness, covered in deep wounds, still bleeding heavily.

Neither woman was a doctor—they could only panic helplessly.

"I'll help."

Ellis stepped forward and said to Akatsuki, "My ability can heal. Let me treat him."

Akatsuki hesitated for a moment, then nodded and stepped aside. "Thank you."

Ellis gave a small smile and placed her hands together, gathering natural energy and converting it into life force.

Tap, tap.

Luo Han stepped up to John. His twisted expression showed fear and fury.

"Not bad. My invisible telekinesis is more than enough to handle someone like John, whose Armament Haki isn't that strong."

Judging by the resistance he felt, Luo Han was satisfied. It wasn't difficult at all.

After all, when his psychic strength was superior, weaker opponents had no way to resist.

Sister Spoon approached and glanced at John. "What are you planning to do with him?"

"Not sure yet."

Luo Han shook his head and lifted the control from John's head.

"Let's see what our Captain John decides."

"Blue Demon!!!"

John roared with fury the moment he could speak.

The shout startled the nearby pirates. Many didn't realize Luo Han was the Blue Demon and were puzzled by John's reaction.

But those captains who recognized Cole and connected the dots froze in place and began to inch away—only to be halted mid-step, paralyzed. Only their eyes darted, filled with dread.

"What do you want?"

Eventually, John calmed down. The rage faded from his eyes, replaced by helplessness.

He had witnessed Luo Han wound Rocks at God Valley. He knew then that Luo Han operated on another level.

But he hadn't expected to be pinned so easily by Luo Han's old technique—his early-stage telekinetic interference.

The blow to his pride was devastating.

"Be my subordinate," Luo Han said.

"What?!"

John's face twisted with shock and rage. "You're joking, right?"

"I'm not."

Luo Han's tone turned icy. "Submit—or die. No other choice."

He wasn't Rocks. He didn't need these pirates as bait for the World Government.

"You…"

John trembled. He could feel it. Luo Han wasn't bluffing—refusing meant death.

But… could he really accept this?

"Heh. Blue Demon, we once shared a ship. You were just a kid back then. And now, just because you're stronger, you want me to bow to you?"

"Dream on. Even when I joined Rocks, it was a partnership. I planned to leave once I found the great treasure."

Veins bulged across John's forehead as his Haki surged.

"Rocks couldn't make me bow. Why would you, some brat named Luo Han?!"

With his roar came an explosive wave of Conqueror's Haki, knocking out countless weaker pirates nearby.

Those still conscious clearly heard the name: Luo Han.

A plump-faced pirate froze, then pointed a trembling finger at Luo Han. "Hey… Did Captain John just say his name was… Luo Han?"

"Wasn't that the real name of the Blue Demon… formerly of the Rocks Pirates?"

"Vincent Luo Han!!!" they all shouted.

The name echoed across the plaza. Even those who didn't know before now looked at Luo Han in shock.

"Then the man standing before Captain John is…"

"The great pirate—Blue Demon himself!!"

Everyone froze.

Then slowly relaxed, assuming this was just a conversation between old crewmates. Surely they wouldn't fight.

They didn't know… this would be the end of Captain John.

After a long silence, Luo Han looked at John. "You're tougher than I thought. Those with Conqueror's Haki rarely submit."

"Very well. I'll show you respect."

He waved, releasing the last of his psychic bindings.

"Face me, one-on-one. Die in battle, with dignity."

"Heh. Much appreciated… Blue Demon."

John smiled and sheathed his blades. Hands tightening on the hilts, he stared Luo Han down.

There was no thought of running. He wasn't a coward. If he couldn't submit, he'd die fighting.

Luo Han smiled. With a thought, he levitated everyone in the plaza up and out, leaving only John standing alone.

He gripped his swords like a lone warrior facing a dragon—prepared for the final clash.

"What's going on? Why are Blue Demon and Captain John fighting?" the pirates whispered.

Luo Han, Akatsuki, and the Ryugu King joined the crowd on the upper terrace.

"Thank you, Lord Blue Demon," said the Ryugu King, stepping forward.

He had been healed by Ellis and now viewed Luo Han not as an enemy, but a savior.

As a king who had attended World Government conferences, he had seen the wider world. He knew not all humans hated fish-men.

Especially pirates like Roger and Whitebeard—both had been kind to fish-men.

And now that he knew Akatsuki was rescued by Luo Han, he was truly grateful.

Luo Han simply replied, "No need to thank me. This is a deal between the princess and me."

Whoosh. Luo Han flew high above the plaza, his spiritual sense scanning the island.

With a thought, his power gripped every pirate and trafficker on the island.

"Hahaha! Beautiful fish-lady, I'm coming for you—!"

A pirate cornered a terrified young mermaid.

"Help! Someone please—whoever saves me, I'll marry you!"

"Please… don't let the humans ruin me… ah!"

"Stay back!"

Just as the mermaid braced to bash her head against a wall—

The pirate vanished.

"Huh?! I'm… saved?"

She opened her eyes and saw her attacker gone.

"Was it the Sea God's punishment?!"

She rubbed her teary eyes, stunned.

She ran toward the plaza to witness the judgment herself.

All across the island, similar scenes played out.

"What happened to those evil humans?!"

"Is the Sea God punishing them?!"

"Die, filthy humans!"

"I want to see them die with my own eyes!"

Believing divine justice had come, the fish-men ran toward the plaza.

Meanwhile, those who had evacuated to the deep sea returned under Neptune's lead.

In the end, he chose to believe in his brilliant sister—and in Luo Han.

As they returned, they saw humans flying like flocks of birds toward the plaza.

"Prince Neptune, what is this?" a guard asked.

"Let's go. Princess Akatsuki and Father must be there."

Neptune flicked his tail and sped ahead.

"Yes, sir!" the soldiers replied.

Soon, every returning fish-man followed.

Fish-Man Island's entire population converged on the plaza.
