Chapter 155: Rocks' Fierce Battle Against the Navy
"Can I borrow that group of trash for a bit?" Rocks suddenly asked in a cold voice.
As soon as the words left his mouth, the battlefield fell silent. Everyone tensed, preparing in case Rocks made a sudden move.
There's always someone who doesn't understand the situation. The lead Celestial Dragon looked at Rocks with disdain and said, "So it's you, the filthy mongrel who led an attack on God Valley. Hmph! Marines! Arrest him! I want to take him back to Mary Geoise for proper training."
"Yes! And those other lowlifes too! Arrest them all for reeducation!" echoed the other Celestial Dragons who had just regained consciousness.
Garp and the others frowned, cursing them in their hearts. Idiots—this was just provoking Rocks into attacking.
And sure enough, Rocks was enraged. He frowned and acted immediately, no words wasted. Whoosh! He jumped into the air, appearing above the Celestial Dragons, and threw a punch.
A black shadow flashed and appeared beneath the lead Celestial Dragon.
Clang! A solid Armament Haki-covered fist rose up from the Celestial Dragon's position to meet Rocks' incoming fist. A powerful blast of wind pressure erupted, blowing everyone back and clearing a space on the battlefield.
Crack crack! Invisible sparks of lightning crackled in the air. The two fists collided in midair—Rocks and Garp.
"Garp!"
Sengoku shouted. Only Garp had the speed to block that punch in time. Now, everyone in the navy looked at Garp as if he were a monster.
"Again… blocked!" Rocks' face darkened. First it was that brat Luo Han , now it was this upstart marine Garp… "No—it's my power that's weakening! Damn that cursed Luo Han !!"
Rocks cursed Luo Han inwardly again. Without that brat, he wouldn't have been blocked by a mere rookie.
Boom! After locking fists for a moment and realizing neither could gain the upper hand, both Rocks and Garp leapt back. Rocks returned to his crew, and Garp to the navy ranks. The Celestial Dragons remained in the center, still protected—and now, even more arrogant after seeing Rocks stopped.
"You're Garp, right? Arrest that disrespectful man over there and I'll promote you to admiral, a direct subordinate of us Celestial Dragons," the lead one said, pointing at Rocks.
Garp ignored the idiotic statement. He wasn't interested in taking orders from Celestial Dragons. Instead, he watched Rocks closely, noticing something—was it just his imagination, or had Rocks' power weakened a bit?
"Rocks!" Aikes and the others were stunned. Their captain had actually been stopped by Garp.
They had waited for Rocks to arrive because they believed he could wipe out these so-called admiral-level marines in an instant.
Rocks didn't speak, his face grim. At the beginning, sure, he could've taken down an admiral with one punch. But now… he hadn't expected the reduction in his Haki's reach—down to thirty centimeters—would affect his raw power, even if his speed, defense, and Haki quality remained unchanged.
Still, he had his trump card. The secret technique "Wind-Forest-Fire-Mountain Fist" wasn't a Haki shockwave, but it would be more than enough against admiral-level opponents not using their life-burning modes. It did consume stamina, though, so he'd have to use it sparingly.
But the most important target… was the Celestial Dragons.
Rocks looked toward them and narrowed his eyes.
"Plans have changed. Just capture that one," he said sharply, pointing at the lead Celestial Dragon. "Forget the rest—he's the one who keeps commanding the marines. He must be the leader of this trip to God Valley."
"Understood, Captain!" Aikes and the others replied in unison.
They were still surprised Garp had blocked Rocks, but that didn't shake their trust in their captain.
"Let's move!"
Rocks charged forward, completely disregarding the hundred-plus marines in front of him—even though his Observation Haki sensed at least eight admiral-level powers among them.
Aikes and the others followed. In an instant, the battle between Rocks' crew and the navy erupted.
As Rocks rushed ahead, a figure suddenly leapt from the navy ranks, bypassing Garp and throwing a punch at him.
Garp shouted, "Watch out! Vok!"
Rocks' eyes narrowed. What did this mean? Trying to steal credit? No—this guy underestimated him. Thought anyone could stop him?
Anger rising, Rocks let out a low growl: "Wind—Fist."
He launched his special technique in a punch aimed straight at the unknown marine.
BOOM! At the moment of impact, a tightly compressed white energy beam erupted from Rocks' Haki-coated fist, blasting through Vok and into the sky. Though not a traditional Haki shockwave, the effect was still devastating.
Plop! A figure fell from the air and landed right in front of Rocks. The battlefield froze. Cold sweat broke out on every marine present. Everyone stopped in their tracks, eyes filled with terror.
"Wait—Vok is the same level as Garp! An admiral-level fighter—and Rocks took him out with just one punch!" a vice admiral cried in panic, unable to accept what had just happened.
When they realized a top-level marine had been killed instantly, the Celestial Dragons shrank back in fear. Today's events were too much—they'd finally learned to keep their heads down and stay quiet.
Thunk! Rocks kicked Vok's body over to the marines. His eyes had burst, his body torn open and soaked in blood. He was completely lifeless.
"Bastard! Rocks!!"
Garp and the others were furious. They rushed to retrieve the body and placed it to the side, their rage directed fully at Rocks now. But this time, no one dared face him alone. Only Garp, Sengoku, and Zephyr stood at the front line together.
"So it really was just that the captain hadn't gotten serious," Aikes and the others looked at Rocks with awe. This was the invincible Rocks they knew.
Rocks chuckled coldly and mocked the navy: "Even the former admirals in their life-burning state could only dodge attacks like this—what makes you think you stand a chance? Did Garp give you all a false sense of hope?"
The navy fell silent. They couldn't answer. Garp and the others darkened—Rocks' strength was far beyond their expectations. And now, it seemed three of their senior officers had already died at his hands.
Just then, three veteran marines—peers of Kong—stepped forward.
"Don't be afraid! He's just a pirate!" one said firmly. Then they turned to Garp. "Garp, you take point. We'll support you. Let's hold him off until the Fleet Admiral returns and we take him down together."
"The rest of you hold off Aikes and the others. Protect the Celestial Dragons!"
"Yes, Vice Admiral!" The navy's morale recovered at last. Sometimes, you just needed the old guard to restore order.
"Oh? Got your spirits back?" Rocks had hoped to crush their will, to make things easier—but no matter. It was all the same to him.
"Let's fight!" Rocks roared. He exploded forward, launching the same technique he had prepared in secret.
"Dodge—now!" Only Garp reacted in time, shouting a warning. But many were still too slow.
A white beam of force blasted through the navy's ranks. Thud thud thud! Over a dozen marines dropped instantly, motionless.
"Go!" Garp growled. This time, no hesitation. He charged at Rocks, followed closely by the three veteran officers.
Clang clang clang…! The battlefield echoed with intense collisions. Shockwaves spread out in all directions as Rocks, Garp, and the others clashed with overwhelming force.
