Chapter 113: Finisher Moves as Basic Attacks
Through the silent forest, Spoon-jie dashed forward, passing by one unconscious animal after another.
Soon, she reached the grassland where Luo Han and the others were gathered in a circle, roasting meat. Everyone else around them had passed out — thankfully, no one had fallen into the fire.
"What happened? That sudden burst of Conqueror's Haki made me think you were fighting some powerful enemy."
Spoon-jie sat beside Luo Han, eyeing the untouched surroundings with curiosity.
"Big Sis, someone tried to show off and… failed. Got mad and—well, you saw the result," Aishi muttered, casting a sideways glance at a certain someone.
"Exactly!" Toki nodded repeatedly in agreement.
Cole and Tucker said nothing, wholly focused on the meat in front of them, as if the world beyond barbecue didn't exist.
Sora chuckled quietly but didn't comment.
Luo Han scratched his head awkwardly. "Just that rookie pirate crew we saw earlier. They tried to challenge me, so I threw them back into the sea. No big deal."
Spoon-jie smiled knowingly. "Sounds like something interesting happened."
"Here, meat! Let's eat!" Luo Han quickly picked up a chunk of roasted lamb and handed it to her, trying to change the subject.
After all, he'd made everyone play along for his big dramatic moment, only to get interrupted before he could say a single word — the Haki blast had ended things before they even started.
Spoon-jie understood and let it go, taking the meat with a smile. Then, as if remembering something, she said, "Oh, right! Can you grab that bottle of red wine from the ship for me?"
Luo Han sighed internally. Am I just your telekinetic delivery guy now?
With a thought, the wine bottle flew from the ship's cabin through the air and landed gently beside her.
"Thanks, Luo Han-kun!" Spoon-jie beamed. She had discovered this perk when sailing with Whitebeard — with Luo Han around, food and drink were always just a word away.
Ever since then, any time they were outside the ship, she liked to "request his services."
"So cool!" Toki gasped. Her eyes lit up as she stared longingly at the bottle of red wine in Spoon-jie's hand. Then she turned her big eyes on Luo Han and said shyly, "I want some too, Luo Han…"
Facing her hopeful gaze, Luo Han slowly mouthed a single word, "No."
"Go get it yourself," he said firmly, turning back to his meat, his expression making it very clear: don't push it.
"Hmph! Fine, whatever!" Toki pouted, clearly not surprised. She didn't go get the wine either — instead, she snatched the lamb Luo Han had just finished roasting and took a big bite out of it, glaring at him like she wanted to bite him too.
The moment she bit down, however, her expression changed from fierce to blissful.
"Mmm… it's so good… That light aroma mixed with the balance of fat and lean… pure happiness," she mumbled with puffed cheeks.
"Hahaha!" Everyone laughed at her sudden shift in expression.
Honestly, the lamb really was something else — it had a faint natural fragrance that balanced out the greasiness, making it irresistibly delicious.
…
Time passed peacefully as the seven of them laughed and ate around the fire. A warm, cozy feeling settled over the group.
The sizzling of meat on the fire continued. Meanwhile, the forest at the edge of the grassland slowly came back to life. Animals began to wake up from their fainting spells, shaking their heads groggily. As soon as they noticed Luo Han and the others, their pupils shrank in fear, and they bolted in the opposite direction like they had seen predators.
Eventually, the meat was all eaten. As dusk fell, the seven split up to enjoy their own downtime.
The sky dimmed. The sun had sunk into the sea, with only half of it still visible, struggling to stay aloft.
"Uh… What happened?"
"Why is the sky dark?"
Members of the Green Fork Pirates began to wake up, confused and dazed. They looked around in bewilderment. The last thing they remembered was a blast of wind—then darkness.
"Did we… fall asleep?" they wondered.
"You're awake?! Then get to work on the barbecue, you lazy bums! It's bad enough you all got knocked out by Lord Luo Han's Conqueror's Haki — you're still useless!" Tucker shouted.
The crew jolted upright and scrambled to obey, terrified of invoking their captain's wrath. Soon, the energy returned to the grassland.
Night fell, and the moon rose earlier than usual. It looked larger, clearer, and even its dark surface patterns were easier to see. One mountain-like silhouette looked like a monk sitting cross-legged.
And then…
The "monk" stretched, opened his arms wide, and yawned.
"My Mind Fruit abilities are getting more and more active."
The "monk" was, of course, Luo Han. He opened his eyes, sensing how much more responsive and potent his mind abilities had become within his telekinetic domain.
With a wave, his telekinetic energy flowed around his arms like water. It used to be light and airy, like wind. Now it felt almost tangible — more solid — and with it, the power behind his attacks had increased dramatically. After all, solid strikes hit harder than airy ones.
With a thought, he activated Mind Armor Mode. A nearly invisible cloak of telekinetic energy wrapped around him.
"Very nice. A return to the origin," he murmured.
Though it looked transparent again, its density had increased significantly — meaning both its offensive and defensive capabilities had also leveled up.
Interestingly, this upgrade seemed to be the result of rejecting Rocks' order to hold off Admiral Kong. After that choice, it felt as if his spirit had been freed — making his powers more focused, more pure, and easier to control.
Standing up, he looked down at himself. He was starting to resemble Rocks, with that overwhelming aura. Speaking of Rocks — with how things were going, the God Valley Incident was probably less than two years away.
"But I'm not worried. With my current defense, I can basically ignore guys like Whitebeard or even Roger."
"The God Valley battle — even Ochoku (Wang Zhi)survived that. No way someone as amazing as me is going down!"
"My only weak spot now is attack power. I still don't have that one-hit-kill level technique. A finisher."
"But then again… with my infinite firepower mode, finishers might be pointless. Anything I can cast with telekinesis, I can just spam endlessly. Maybe I'll just bombard enemies with infinite ultimate moves. That might be even better."
After evaluating himself, Luo Han chuckled and offered a moment of silence for his future enemies.
"How do you beat someone who uses finishers like they're basic attacks?"
After testing out a few more telekinetic techniques in the sky, Luo Han returned to the ship.
"Luo Han-kun, come take a look at this," Spoon-jie suddenly called, just as he was about to head to the cabin for rest.
