Chapter 180 - Chapter 179: Gospel of Darkness

"Our purpose for coming here is to purge monsters and heretics," Kayal paused and said to Artoria, "like Vampires, I think we should capture them... How about we send fifty men to search, and the rest wait here?"

Kayal inquired.

"Alright," Artoria disliked the Scottish people of this town immensely. Her intuition was a more powerful weapon than Kayal's wisdom; generally, she followed her instincts.

Kayal gave a look to the Knight he had just instructed, and the other party immediately understood.

Fifty Knights scattered. The trees here were tall, so there was no concern about the horses. After they entered the dense forest, only the faint neighing of horses could be heard from within, but they all entered together at the very end. C.C., who was riding with Kayal, sat in front of him, appearing somewhat uneasy. Artoria glanced at C.C., feeling a bit complex. Before she became King, it was often she and Kayal who rode together. Now that she was King, she had gained some things but also lost some. It was hard to say whether it was a net gain or loss.

Just as the fifty Knights had been gone for a long time.

One hundred Knights waited quietly in a row outside the town, watched with worried eyes by the townspeople. The excellent warhorses behind them, each weighing over two tons, were extremely patient and powerful in their bursts. They remained perfectly still while their masters waited. They would not eat food given by anyone other than their masters and the grooms who served them—these were warhorses!

"Time's up." The leading big man stood up, his stubbled face making him look resolute. His thick lips and high nose bridge made him appear very handsome, perfectly fitting Western aesthetics.

"Clang!" Drawing their longswords, the Knights suddenly all turned around.

"What are you trying to do...?" The mayor asked tremblingly, a dark cloud rising in his heart... "The Sage has commanded: Scottish, if they do not surrender, leave no one alive." The Knights of the Round Table could not regard these close-by neighboring races as brothers, just as Chinese people would not consider Koreans and Japanese as brothers. Englishmen, while quite fond of the Welsh, would absolutely not like the Irish or Scottish.

"Run!" The mayor shouted, looking at the gleaming longsword descending from above his head.

"Pfft..." Blood splattered...

"Did you hear anything, Kayal?" Faintly hearing a sound behind them, but thinking it unlikely for a Vampire to be too close to town, she just asked casually.

"No." Kayal shook his head, but in his heart, he knew the remaining Knights had begun.

"Mmm..." C.C. in Kayal's arms let out a shy moan. From earlier, Kayal had been "toying" with her.

She was still a virgin; how could she withstand Kayal playing with her like this?

Kayal shook his head. If they caught another Vampire this time, it would truly be a fruitful trip, much better than the previous plan of capturing a demonic horse or horse-type monster for breeding to mass-produce monsters.

After returning to Gensokyo, he would gather Yagokoro Eirin, Yakumo Yukari, Patchouli, and others to try and analyze these two individuals.

Kayal was planning in his mind when a loud shout suddenly came from the Knights ahead.

The two spurred their horses forward, heading towards the source of the Knight's cry.

There, five Knights lay on the ground, their mixed-breed warhorses uneasily snorting nearby. Standing before the five Knights was a golden-haired beauty wearing a provocative noblewoman's black corset (a tight-fitting bustier worn under clothing at balls to appear slender). Her lips were crimson, and she held her head high, looking down at the five Knights, as proud as a princess.

A sudden surge of disgust in Kayal's heart immediately told him that the target was close. He shouted, his left arm embracing C.C., and his right arm abruptly raised his bronze staff. The crystal at the very tip of the bronze staff suddenly emitted a brilliant light.

"Ah!!" The woman shrieked, suddenly transforming into a bat and vanishing from Kayal's sight.

Kayal paid no attention to the other party. Once she was marked by his Light Magic, it was like installing a signal transmitter; she couldn't escape.

Instead, these Knights of the Round Table were the real treasure. Kayal quickly placed C.C. on the horse, dismounted, and began to examine the Knights.

A faint, repulsive feeling rose from the Knights. Kayal's heart tensed, and he quickly pushed back two steps. The Knights, who were fiercely loyal to Artoria, actually swung their longswords and lunged at Kayal.

Artoria's eyes narrowed. She drew her sword, wanting to come to Kayal's rescue, but found herself surrounded by four Knights of the Round Table—the ones who had just fallen!

Kayal immediately understood what was wrong with these Knights of the Round Table, who were giving off a strange feeling. He tapped his bronze staff on the ground, and light slowly spread, enveloping all five Knights of the Round Table.

"Clang..." The swords in the Knights' hands all fell to the ground.

"Drawing a sword against the King is a crime punishable by ten thousand deaths!" As if remembering what had just happened, the five cried out in shame, reaching for the swords on the ground, wanting only to express their loyalty and honor through death.

"It's fine." Kayal pressed down on their hands with his bronze staff and smiled, "I suppose what just happened was called 'Puppetry,' right?" Kayal smiled, "Dark Magic... I've never seen it before."

Kayal's lips curved into a smile, and his hands were not slow. The light searching for the enemy swept in all directions like flames. All the Knights saw this light and converged in that direction.

"Come out, Vampire." Kayal's gaze was like a torch, sweeping through the forest before finally settling on a certain spot as he spoke.

"Someone actually knows Light Magic. You... what are you?" Standing on a huge tree branch, the golden-haired woman asked fiercely.

"Before asking someone, it's polite to first state your own name." Kayal smiled and stomped his bronze staff, which abruptly stripped away her disguise.

"Also, you should use honorifics when speaking to someone older than yourself," Kayal said with a smile.

"You... what did you do to me?" Looking in a panic as her disguise reverted, revealing a tender and frail appearance, the golden-haired little girl shrieked in alarm. Her two small fangs peeked out from her lips, looking quite adorable.

"Ah... it's you..." C.C. suddenly said with a realization, "I knew something was off. You change back to this when you're feeding!"

C.C.'s words were like a final attack, instantly collapsing the other party's heart. With tears in her eyes, like a wronged girl, the Vampire pointed at Kayal and shouted, "You just wait! I'll be back!"
