Phei had never lacked options when it came to what to do to Marcus, or any Original Progenitor unfortunate enough to fall completely into his hands:

One touch would have been enough to tear Marcus's soul from the ruined Angelic manifestation before him and cast him into a world built from the deepest desires he had spent lifetimes concealing. Phei could have allowed him to drown inside that counterfeit paradise, surrounded him with every fantasy his diseased heart had ever treasured and simply waited while fulfillment itself became the prison from which Marcus no longer wished to escape.
Eventually the bastard would die there, perhaps smiling until the final moment, never realizing that the happiness embracing him had been sharpened into an executioner's blade.
