Chapter 593 - Chapter 592: Forcefully Knocking on the Door

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Riyana was still in the room, desperately playing both parts by herself, pretending that her brother was still in the room.

But at this moment, there was a hurried knocking at the door.

"Riyana, open the door! I cut some apples for you and your brother, and made some tomato juice too. Open the door and I'll bring them in!"

"Mom, no need!"

Riyana hurriedly looked out the window, while assuring her mother at the door.

"Just leave them in the living room. I'll go out and eat them later!"

"Who said they're for you? I prepared them for your brother!", Her mother refused to give in, "What exactly are you two doing in the room? Hurry up and open the door!!"

"Brother said he doesn't want to eat," Riyana could only hurriedly say, "He said he wants to take a nap! He'll eat after he wakes up!"

"Why are you answering for your brother?", Her mother's voice suddenly turned cold from outside the door, "Is your brother not there? Open the door for me!"

"N-no, he's asleep. I'm doing my homework," Riyana explained incoherently in fright, "I was just afraid of disturbing my brother, I…"

Whoosh!

"Open the door!"

However...

Before Riyana could finish speaking, a bright knife tip had already pierced through the thin wooden door.

Riyana hurriedly covered her mouth, desperately holding back the scream that almost escaped.

But the more she did so… the less she dared to open the door.

After all, no one knew whether, once her crazy mother entered the room and discovered that the two siblings had joined forces to deceive her, the knife in her hand would end up piercing her own body.

"Riyana! Open the door!"

Whoosh!

Every time her mother shouted, another hole would appear in the wooden door.

Riyana could only clutch her own throat and, with a trembling voice, imitate her brother's voice.

"Mom, I'm sleeping! Can you stop making so much noise!"

"Ethan, you're here too?", After hearing Ethan's voice, the bizarre mother actually stopped what she was doing, her voice turning gentle, "I was just worried that you two would get tired of eating nothing but meat at noon. I prepared some fruit and tomato juice for you. Have some before you go back to sleep."

"No need!"

'Ethan' replied coldly.

But after hearing this voice, Mom froze slightly before suddenly saying, "Ethan, do you have a cold? Why does your voice sound strange? Open the door and let Mom take a look."

Riyana was genuinely about to cry from fear, but since the act had already gone this far, she could only continue, "I…I said I don't need it!"

"I said, open the door!"

Whoosh!

Her mother's demand was far more convincing than Riyana's.

Because every time she made a demand, it was accompanied by a bright knife tip forcing its way through the thin wooden door.

Riyana was so frightened that she didn't dare say anything anymore.

But Mom had no intention of letting either of them off.

"Open the door!"

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

One stab after another and every one of Mom's stabs landed at the edge of the door lock. The fragile wooden door finally could not take it anymore, and a piece of wood the size of a fist was stabbed completely through.

Mom then directly pushed the broken piece of wood aside and stuck one hand through.

That hand, so pale that it had no trace of color… Easily reached from outside the door to the inside, grabbing the locked door handle.

Click!

Crack!

The locked door was easily twisted open.

Then Mom, holding a fruit knife in one hand and a tray in the other, walked in from outside with a smile.

"Ethan, Riyana, have some fruit!"

"Thanks, Mom!"

Riyana took the tray from her mother with a smile more unpleasant than crying.

Meanwhile, Ethan, lying on the bed under the covers, said impatiently, "Mom, are you done yet? Didn't I already tell you I'm going to sleep and don't want to eat?"

"Have a little before you sleep, so you won't wake up hungry."

Mom turned her head, a smile curling up on her left cheek.

Ethan still looked impatient as he waved his hand, "Enough. I'll eat later. Hurry up and go out. Don't disturb my sleep."

"Mm."

Mom nodded mechanically, but she looked somewhat suspiciously at the puddles of water on the windowsill.

She grabbed the apron she was wearing and vigorously wiped the water stains with it. Even though the apron became a little dirty from it, she didn't care.

"Go to sleep. I'm leaving."

With that she finally turned around and left the room, conveniently closing the room's door, which now had an extra hole in it, behind her.

The moment she left, Ethan and Riyana were both nearly exhausted.

Riyana hurriedly took the tape from the table and sealed up the holes in the door. Only then did she quickly sit down beside the bed.

"Brother, you came back at exactly the right time! I almost thought I was going to die!"

"I know what I'm doing. Don't worry!"

Only then did Ethan throw off the soaking-wet blanket. He quickly took off the clothes that had been soaked and stunk up by the filthy water and tossed them under the bed.

"However, I was in such a hurry to come back just now that I left the key at the key-cutting uncle's place. I'll go get it back for you later."

"Ah!", Riyana said nervously, "Then what should I do if Mom wants to take my key later?"

Click!

However, right at this moment.

Mom suddenly returned, and Ethan was quick enough to kick his clothes under the bed, then roll back onto the bed in an instant and pull the covers over himself.

"Oh, right, Riyana," Mom smiled as she looked at Riyana, who was standing helplessly in the room, "Mom needs to go out for a while. Give me your key. I left mine at work and forgot to bring it home."
