Chapter 543 - Chapter 542: Filthy Rich Beyond Reason

"Sword Draw!"

Ethan didn't hesitate to try the Sword Draw stance.

He wanted to see whether it would still work without a scabbard.

Whoosh!

The next second, a massive flash of sword light shot out.

The sword itself looked understated, but the sword light it released was anything but.

The next moment...

The coffee table and sofa in Ethan's villa living room, along with an entire wall of the villa, were blasted away.

"Damn! That's a bit too powerful."

Looking at the villa with a huge path carved straight through it, Ethan was stunned.

Previously, when he used the Sword Draw Technique, it could at most unleash a single blade of sword energy, and naturally, the cut it left behind was only as wide as that sword energy.

But now... just using the first move of the Eight Forms of God-Slaying, Sword Draw, was already almost as effective as the fifth move, Crescent Slash.

And the moment he used Sword Draw with the Demon Blade... it had actually formed a scabbard on its own.

'Awesome!'

"My Lord!"

"My Lord, what happened?"

"Has an enemy invaded? What's going on?"

The guards rushed into the villa through the hole in the wall. Seeing Guard Three, Attendant Five, and the others looking flustered, Ethan said apologetically, "Don't panic, everyone. I'm fine. I was just testing a new move. I didn't expect to overdo it."

"As long as you're alright, My Lord."

Only then did everyone finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Just then, Mr. White's voice came from outside, "Lord Ethan, what's going on here?"

"Store!"

The moment Ethan heard Mr. White's voice, he immediately opened the capsule and stored the Fusion Tempering Furnace away.

He had no intention of letting Mr. White discover he possessed something this valuable.

First, you don't flaunt your wealth.

Second, he didn't want to end up working for other people for free.

If Mr. White started bringing him all kinds of items to fuse later, what was he supposed to do?

If he agreed, never mind the fact that he was already short on time, even if he had plenty of it, he didn't want to spend it fusing items.

He wasn't some assembly-line worker.

But if he refused... they were already so familiar with each other.

Wouldn't that just offend him?

So... the best outcome was for Mr. White never to know he had this thing. That way, Mr. White would never come asking for favors.

"Oh, Mr. White," Ethan walked over with a smile, "I can't believe I even disturbed you. Sorry for interrupting your rest."

"You're too kind, Lord Ethan," Mr. White waved his hand, "I only heard late last night about the riot during yesterday's refugee influx. I wanted to come visit you then, but I was worried about disturbing your rest, so I came this morning instead. I'd only walked a short distance when I heard the commotion from your villa, so I hurried over. I hope I didn't interrupt anything?"

"That was thoughtful of you, Mr. White. I was just testing a move. You didn't interrupt anything."

Ethan smiled and gave a brief explanation.

Only then did Mr. White notice the villa's shattered wall and the completely empty living room. He also looked at the dust and debris outside.

In an instant, he realized...

Ethan had destroyed an entire wall, along with all the furniture, with a single move?

And it clearly hadn't been caused by fire or explosives, since there wasn't a single scorch mark. That meant it had to be some kind of physical attack.

"Hiss!"

Mr. White sucked in a sharp breath.

"Lord Ethan truly possesses extraordinary martial skill. Destroying an entire wall with one move... that's practically the combat power of a high-level warrior, isn't it?"

"But if I remember correctly, Lord Ethan..."

"Aren't you supposed to be a mage?"

"So you're..."

"Training both magic and martial arts?!"

"I know a little, that's all," Ethan smiled it off, "You're giving me too much credit, Mr. White. I was just fooling around."

"If this is what you can do just fooling around, then I'm afraid there's no one else in the world who could match you, Lord Ethan," Mr. White said, "As it happens, the Dwarf Chief is here too. Shall I ask him to help repair this wall?"

"No need! I already thought this villa was too small to practice in anyway. This is a good excuse to tear it down and rebuild it."

"This is too small?"

Mr. White clicked his tongue.

He was wealthy himself, and his house in the city wasn't exactly small.

He also owned quite a few businesses.

But Ethan lived alone in this villa. No matter how he looked at it, calling it small made no sense.

Of course... its size wasn't the main issue.

The real point was how artistically the villa had been designed. There was even a skybridge on the second floor leading directly to the hot spring.

A villa this beautifully designed and unique... yet Ethan could casually decide to demolish it and rebuild it from scratch.

That wasn't something an ordinary rich man could do.

The only way to describe it was: filthy rich beyond reason.

"Hahaha! Mr. White, didn't you say before that you wanted to see me upgrade my town?", Ethan said with a smile, "As it happens, my master gave me a scroll that can turn an estate into a town. Why don't we take a look together?"

The reason Ethan said this was naturally to hide the fact that he could freely upgrade his territory.

After all, he was a player, and he had no intention of letting a game NPC know that.

Who knew what strange things might happen if an NPC found out? Better safe than sorry. Besides, it also gave him an excuse for upgrading the town.

In any case, his master was both an Archmage and a Saint of Formations. Whatever treasures such a person could produce, Mr. White wouldn't find it strange.
