"You guys?"
Seeing that these Team Rocket members weren't very strong, yet could pull off such a well-coordinated combo attack, Silver's brows tightened.
"As expected of villains who crawl in the dark, you actually use such dirty tactics."
"Weavile, use Taunt on those Pokémon!"
During the time he spent with Pryce, Silver had seen all sorts of fighting styles from those foster sons and daughters, so he wasn't unfamiliar with strategies like Tailwind plus Poison Gas.
Against this kind of setup, one Taunt is enough.
"Wea!", Weavile's eyes turned vicious as it glared fiercely at Team Rocket's Pokémon.
Taunt is a move that provokes the opponent into anger, forcing them to use only attacking moves for a period of time. At its core, it's a way of manipulating "emotion."
Just moments ago, Weavile had been tricked once by those Pokémon, and its anger was still surging. That energy quickly spread into the yellow gem on its forehead, turning into invisible waves that radiated outward.
The Pokémon on Team Rocket's side were engulfed and affected by that anger, instantly turning into creatures that only knew how to attack.
"Damn it, Muk, calm down," The Team Rocket squad leader clearly hadn't expected someone to break their tactic so quickly, and he panicked for a moment.
But soon, a fierce glint flashed in his eyes, and he gave Silver a fake smile.
"So what if you broke our next move? You think that means you can turn this around?"
"Your Weavile has already been badly poisoned!"
"Number Two, Three, Four, have your Pokémon stall for time. Don't give him any chance to come back!"
Silver's expression was ice-cold, and he couldn't be bothered to respond to these people.
Because even talking to them made him feel sick!
Ever since he found out he was Giovanni's son, he had been trying every possible way to atone.
And in Silver's eyes, the best way to atone was to wipe out Team Rocket, to personally end this malignant tumor with his own hands!
"Weavile, don't give them time to stall, use Night Slash!"
At Silver's call, Weavile nodded heavily and charged straight into the encirclement of enemy Pokémon without hesitation.
Pitch-black Dark-type energy spread along its claws. At the same time, its eyes swept around, constantly analyzing the weaknesses of those Pokémon.
Night Slash sharpens its reactions, letting it seize chances it normally couldn't and making it much easier to strike vital points. It's a very powerful Dark-type move.
Swish!
A tearing sound cut through the air as Weavile instantly seized an opening, its claws slicing hard across Muk's body, bringing out a foul stench.
The squad leader was first shocked by Weavile's speed and staggered back a few steps, then burst into laughter again.
"I thought you were something special. Turns out you're just a bit good at raising Pokémon."
"You think this kind of sharp attack can hurt Muk? Dream on! You're not playing some numbers game, you know?"
Silver shot him a disdainful glance and continued directing Weavile's attacks as if he hadn't heard anything.
Of course he knew Muk's body was hard to cut with claws, but what he wanted was the poison on Muk's body.
His Weavile could learn the Poison-type move "Poison Jab," but mixing toxins properly was a difficult task, and Silver hadn't put much effort into it.
So… he preferred to have Weavile borrow poison from other Pokémon.
"Use Poison Jab!"
Weavile spun instantly, sweeping its claws glowing with a purple light, lightly grazing the skin of several Pokémon.
In the next moment, aside from Muk, every Pokémon fell into a poisoned state.
"Now we're all poisoned… next, let's see whose offense is stronger."
Silver's gaze was razor-sharp, a hint of madness in his eyes.
"Use it again, Icy Wind!"
A howling gale rose once more. Because the distance was so close and they had already been slowed by Icy Wind before, Team Rocket's Pokémon were shivering from the cold and couldn't organize any decent counterattack at all.
Fearow was the first to collapse, followed quickly by the second and third Pokémon.
Only the highest-level Muk remained standing, its body writhing as it endured two rounds of Icy Wind and continued attacking Weavile.
A slight smile curved at the corner of Silver's mouth as he planned to have Weavile pull back and use Ice Shard to wear Muk down from a distance.
But just then, a massive net suddenly dropped from the sky, binding Weavile tightly.
Weavile reacted instantly, its sharp claws slashing repeatedly across the net.
But the net seemed to be made of some unknown material. Even Weavile's claws could barely damage it.
"Kid, tell your Pokémon to stop wasting its strength," The Team Rocket squad leader looked smug, picking his nose with a look of complete arrogance.
"Times have changed, you know? This net was something we exchanged for at a huge cost from Executive Ariana. Even a level 30 Fighting-type Pokémon couldn't break free."
"There's no way your Weavile is stronger than a Machamp, right?"
"If you know what's good for you, get lost. We're too lazy to kill you, but we're taking this Weavile to sell and make up for our losses."
Silver frowned tightly, pulling out another Poké Ball, hesitation flickering in his eyes.
Just then, the roaring sound of an engine came from the distance. A red sports car appeared in an instant, not slowing down at all as it tore through the dense forest.
The Team Rocket members had no time to react. Just as Muk formed a Protect in front of them, they were all slammed by the raging car and sent flying into the trees.
Taking the opportunity, Silver rushed to the net and sprayed an antidote onto his Weavile.
Only then did the squad leader, hanging from a tree branch, come back to his senses. He waved his fist and shouted at Gary and Axel, who had just stepped out of the red sports car:
"Hey! Don't you idiots watch where you're driving?"
"It's one thing to hit flowers and grass, but now you've hit people, you know that?"
"Hurry up and apologize, then call your insurance and pay up!"
Axel was momentarily speechless. The lines he had prepared got stuck in his throat, and he almost couldn't stop himself from laughing.
These guys… they really were Team Rocket. Completely obsessed with money.
If it were other villains, after getting hit they'd definitely start fighting with weapons or Pokémon, but these guys' first reaction was to demand compensation.
That corporate culture was strong.
Unfortunately, their luck was bad. They ran into him, Axel.
Axel calmly looked at the Team Rocket members and showed a meaningful smile.
"No chance you're getting my money. But I do have a business deal that could make you some."
"What deal?", The squad leader's eyes lit up.
Axel pointed at Silver beside him and said something that made all the Team Rocket members' eyes shine.
"His dad is very rich, and I've got his dad's number. Want to pull a job together?"
