I give a noncommittal nod of my head and manage to say, "Yeah, I'm fine."
"You're not, but you will be." She said before turning back to work while holding my hand.
That familiar feeling of disgust for myself started creeping back up. I could even taste it in my mouth. I hate feeling so weak and so pathetic. I need to be better.
Though I can't help but admit that I find a bit of comfort in her words and actions. To say these things with such confidence, it gives me the confidence to believe in her words.
Despite the foul taste in my mouth there was a definite slight warmth in my chest.
