Hercules exploded with anger.
The lion's behavior and underestimation of him had provoked him, and he no longer wanted to waste any more time.
He screamed in anger, then dashed toward the lion with tremendous speed.
And before the lion could prepare itself...
Hercules leaped onto its back, locking his arms around its neck with all his might.
Hercules tightened his grip with terrifying force, while the lion violently tried to shake him off.
Hercules said angrily:
"How dare you look down on me, you wretch?!"
Then he tightened his arms even more.
"I am the grandson of Odin!"
Hercules's words echoed throughout the cave.
As for the agonized roar of the lion...
It was the only sound that rose above them.
The lion tried with all its might to escape this situation.
It thrashed violently, tried to throw Hercules off its back, and shook its body vigorously, but Hercules did not let go.
He remained steadfast on its back, as if a ferocious beast had pounced and locked its grip around it.
The struggle continued for several moments.
And as time passed...
The lion's movements began to weaken gradually.
Then, just moments later, complete silence fell over the cave.
The Golden Lion had died under Hercules's power, and its body collapsed to the ground.
As for Hercules...
He fell with it, then slowly stood up from the lion's back.
He looked at the beast lying before him, then smiled mockingly.
And said:
"Hah? Is this the best you have?"
But as soon as he finished his words...
He suddenly felt pain in his leg.
He looked at the site of the injury and remembered the previous attack.
"Ugh..."
But before he could worry about it...
Something strange happened.
The injury began to heal with visible speed.
The pain disappeared.
Then the wound vanished completely.
And moments later...
Not a single trace of the injury remained.
Hercules stared at his leg in astonishment.
Then a wide smile appeared on his face.
He began to laugh happily.
"Hahaha!"
Then he said proudly:
"I didn't let my grandfather down today!"
He was delighted by what had happened, for he realized that the power he had awakened did not only grant him physical strength, but also made his body capable of healing at an astonishing rate.
And before he could continue laughing or do anything else...
He heard a voice from behind him.
"Hmm... Not bad, boy."
Hercules suddenly froze.
Then the voice continued immediately after.
"But..."
"You have only completed this task."
Then the voice added mockingly:
"You still have more tasks ahead, hahahaha!"
Hercules turned around slowly and cautiously.
And when he looked behind him...
He found Poseidon standing there, laughing loudly.
Hercules stared at him for several moments with annoyance and anger.
As for Poseidon...
He couldn't stop laughing, as if he was thoroughly entertained by what had happened.
Hercules looked at the Golden Lion, then at Poseidon.
And said to himself with a sigh:
"I wish all of this was just a dream."
