📜 Chapter — The Council of Asgard
Odin looked at Forn, who had been laughing coldly for a few moments after hearing what she wanted…
Then he turned to his brothers and the other rulers and said:
"We will hold a meeting… go to the hall."
As soon as Odin said that…
Everyone nodded and vanished from their place.
Then Odin turned to the warriors and said:
"You guard the village… do not think the danger is over."
And with that…
He too disappeared.
As soon as he was gone…
Forn looked at the place where he vanished with sadness and said in a low voice:
"He left… I wanted to know whether that old man was dead or not…"
She sighed in disappointment, not knowing the answer.
Then she looked angrily at her eldest son and said:
"Where have you been since morning?! Have you been training with your father without telling me?!"
The child—who had awakened the power of lightning—looked at his mother with indifference and said:
"Oh… I'm sorry."
And with that…
He walked away toward his home with the other children, accompanied by the warriors.
Forn glared at him angrily…
And followed him to scold him for ignoring her.
Far from Forn's irritation…
Odin had already arrived at the hall that he and his brothers had built inside the mountain they once lived in… The same mountain that the child had destroyed.
As he entered the hall…
He saw the rulers already waiting.
He nodded and took his seat at the main chair…
With his brothers beside him, and the younger rulers behind them.
Hades looked at his brother and asked:
"What are the giants like? Are they cunning, as the legends say?"
Odin shook his head and replied:
"No… they are simply so confident in their strength that it prevents them from thinking properly."
Athena nodded and said:
"That is expected… their very bodies grant them terrifying power, making them among the strongest races in this world… if not the strongest."
Poseidon chuckled lightly and said:
"But they are now our allies, aren't they? That means we now have a shield to hide behind… and it's quite a massive one."
Loki laughed mockingly and said:
"No, uncle… we cannot rely on the giants to protect us."
Then he added seriously:
"Do not forget—we aim to reach their level in the future. An alliance with them is good for now… but we must not depend on them for everything."
Freyja nodded and said:
"Loki is right… we need them for now…"
Then she continued:
"But once we grow stronger, and our number of rulers increases… we can decide whether to continue this alliance or not."
The rulers nodded in agreement.
Neptune said in surprise:
"What is happening? These two actually agree on something? That's strange!"
Odin looked at Poseidon and Hades…
And they smiled slightly.
It seemed that the harsh punishment they had received had calmed them… and put an end to some of their foolishness.
Odin then turned to Apollo's son and said:
"What do you think, my son? Should we hide from the world for now and conceal our power until we grow stronger… or move quickly before the world notices us and strike first?"
Apollo looked at his father and shook his head:
"I think we rushed our decision to fight that dragon."
At that, Skadi looked at him in surprise and said:
"The dragon came to us… should we have let it roam near Asgard?"
Apollo shook his head:
"No… but I don't think the dragon came specifically for us. It seemed like it didn't even know us… it simply arrived near Asgard by coincidence."
He continued:
"If we had acted cautiously—or even hidden within Asgard and concealed our power—we wouldn't have been noticed… that would have been better than ambushing it."
Odin smiled slightly, then shook his head:
"No, my son… if we had left it alone, the Dragon King—who came searching for it—would have fought the giants in the ocean."
He continued:
"And he would not have feared fighting them, since his son would not have been injured… and that battle would have harmed Asgard and our people."
Then he looked at them and said:
"Do you understand now why I ordered the attack?"
After hearing his explanation…
Apollo and the others realized they had been too quick to judge, without knowing the full truth.
They laughed awkwardly at their own rushed thinking—and their silent doubts about Odin's orders.
Odin shook his head slightly to himself…
While his brothers realized that the younger ones still had much to learn.
Athena looked at the younger rulers and said:
"Go now… attend to your duties. We will remain to speak a little longer."
They looked at each other in embarrassment…
Then vanished quickly…
All except Hela.
Athena looked at her curiously, but before she could ask, Odin said:
"I asked her to stay, sister… there is something I want her to do with Hades."
At that…
Hades and Hela looked at Odin with curiosity…
As did Poseidon and Athena.
