Astraea helped Roy walk toward the stairs leading to the upper floors. Roy had only been as deep as the 25th floor, but thanks to Ryu's teachings, he knew the Lower Floors (25-36) well. Survival now depended on how well he had mastered those theories.
"Roar!"
Monsters emerged like a tide, their roars shaking the earth. It was a Monster Banquet. In an instant, they were surrounded. Roy's face darkened; he knew the Dungeon's nature—it preyed on the weak. If he were at full strength, he could wipe them out in minutes. But he was at his absolute limit. The Dungeon smelled blood, and it was moving in for the kill.
"Roy," Astraea said softly. "Give me a sword."
Roy blinked. The head coach is warming up? He pulled a high-quality three-foot blade from his ring—a piece from the Goibniu Familia worth three million Valis. He handed it to her hilt-first.
Astraea gripped the sword. It was heavy for her mortal strength, but manageable. Rip! She used the blade to slit her long gown up the sides to allow for movement. The dress worth a million Valis was now rags, but it revealed her long, porcelain legs. With her hair tied back in a high ponytail, she shed her noble elegance for the sharp, spirited look of a warrior.
"Move in the opposite direction of the blooming flowers!" Roy centered himself, standing back-to-back with her.
Heavenly Blaze!
Roy unleashed the Spirit Holy Sword. The mana within a kilometer was drained as the blade erupted. A dragon of fire swept through the horde, incinerating hundreds of monsters instantly. Roy and Astraea dove through the gap.
Any stragglers that escaped the fire were met by Astraea. Clang! Clang! Clang!
Astraea moved with the grace of a butterfly. Her blade was a streak of cold starlight, harvesting the lives of seven or eight monsters in a heartbeat. Her movements were beautiful yet lethal, a deadly dance in the dim light of the Dungeon.
Roy watched, impressed. In terms of pure swordsmanship, Astraea was at the Level 5 tier. She was a "technical master," using minimal stats to achieve maximum lethality. She couldn't match a monster's strength, but she could guide their movements and strike their magic stones with surgical precision. She was not a helpless goddess.
Soft as a woman, but strong as a mother. It applied to goddesses too.
As they fought, several pairs of eyes watched them from the thickets—monsters with unusually human expressions.
"Humans... they look miserable." "Poor things. They're dead for sure."
These were Xenos, drawn by the sound of the ceiling collapsing. They felt no need to help; humans were usually their enemies. But when they saw Roy use no-chant lightning magic to save Astraea from a sneak attack, they froze.
"No-chant lightning magic? Could it be...?" "Is that the human Marie talked about?"
