Chapter 117 - Chapter 115: Two Maps

The news of Mufasa's disappearance Beyond the Wall reached King's Landing, causing an uproar.

Rumors that Mufasa had died spread wildly in the streets and alleys. After all, once someone disappears Beyond the Wall, no one has ever returned alive to public view!

After Joffrey learned this, he wanted to personally lead an expedition, kill all the Others, and avenge Mufasa.

Everyone in the council advised him to abandon this idea.

"As a king, putting yourself in danger is not what a king should do," Tywin said sternly.

He looked at Joffrey with a feeling of disappointment.

"Indeed, Your Majesty! No king has ever gone to fight Beyond the Wall. Even the former King in the North only fought the Wildlings once on Northern lands."

"Please think thrice before acting," Grand Maester Pycelle advised.

"I don't care. Mufasa is my brother. If I don't avenge him, who will?" Joffrey stubbornly insisted on leading the troops himself.

Tywin summoned Cersei and had her take Joffrey to the inner palace to rest.

Joffrey returned to his palace and began destroying things. Every vase and jar was smashed, the table was overturned, and several holes were punched through the windows.

Joffrey even started a fire.

Cersei shouted loudly.

"Little Joff, calm down. Do you look like a king at all?"

"Mother, Mufasa is my brother. He is my full brother. How can I remain indifferent when he dies?"

When Cersei heard the words "full brother," her face instantly turned pale. She looked around, relieved that no one else was eavesdropping.

She walked over and hugged her son tightly.

"Child, how can Mufasa be your full brother? You are, at most, cousins!" she whispered.

Joffrey pushed her away.

"Do you think we don't know? Whose children are I, Myrcella, and Tommen, really?"

Joffrey's words struck Cersei like a blow into an Icy Hell. Her heart turned cold, and her expression was frantic.

"Did you hear some rumors somewhere?"

"Little Joff, no matter whose son you are, you are my son, that is undeniable. I carried you for ten months and gave birth to you," Cersei said, a pained expression on her face.

Joffrey looked at her. Cersei's eyes were filled with tears, and she looked extremely sad.

He felt some pity for his Mother, and his attitude softened.

"Mother, my siblings include not only Myrcella and Tommen, but Mufasa too."

"I know that the same blood flows within him and me. The blood of the same person."

Outside the palace, Jaime Lannister leaned against a column, never entering. He felt uneasy, but he couldn't reveal his relationship with Joffrey.

"Jaime!" Myrcella and Tommen came before him.

"Hi!" Jaime offered a smile.

"Mufasa will be fine. He managed to return safely from the Valyrian ruins; the danger Beyond the Wall cannot compare to the Valyrian ruins. He will surely be safe," Myrcella said.

"That's right! Mufasa will definitely return safe and sound," Tommen also said loudly.

Jaime looked at his two children. He couldn't call them that out loud, so he only said it silently in his heart.

"No matter what, I will protect them."

After Joffrey left the council, they continued discussing who should take over Ser Mufasa's post as Commander-in-Chief of the Frontline.

"I propose that Ser Jaime go to The Wall to take over Mufasa's position. He is a battle-hardened knight, experienced, and in the prime of his life. Furthermore, he is Mufasa's father," Grand Maester Pycelle said.

Naturally, he was acting on behalf of House Lannister.

But Baelish chuckled softly.

"My Lords, when fighting in the ice and snow, besides House Stark, can anyone else be competent? Eddard Stark has returned to Winterfell. Wouldn't it be better to let him serve as the Commander-in-Chief of the Frontline?"

"What do you all think?"

Baelish scanned the people present. Tywin Lannister was expressionless, Grand Maester Pycelle was squinting, looking like he was about to fall asleep. Varys had his hands tucked into his sleeves, seemingly cold.

Everyone had their own schemes, but Baelish was thinking the most.

He wanted to grant Eddard Stark a favor, but he would reclaim this favor later. Reclaim it twofold.

"Since none of you Lords have other opinions, Pycelle, write a letter in the King's name, appointing Lord Eddard Stark as the Commander-in-Chief of the Frontline for the Seven Kingdoms allied forces," Tywin Lannister commanded.

It seemed his command was more effective than the King's. Grand Maester Pycelle immediately brought paper and pen and wrote in front of everyone.

"Given that Ser Mufasa is currently missing and the frontline war lacks a commander, Lord Eddard, Duke of the North and of House Stark of Winterfell, is the best candidate to succeed Mufasa."

Afterward, each of them affixed their seal.

Meanwhile, in the monastery outside the city, the High Sparrow dreamed of Cthulhu again.

Since becoming the priest of this monastery, he saw Cthulhu every night.

However, his will was firm, and he was not misled.

Because they met frequently, the High Sparrow learned a lot of knowledge and secret arts from Cthulhu.

For now, he showed no signs of betraying Mufasa.

Cthulhu was also unable to break the seal and see the light of day again.

When he was sealed, two maps were left behind: one was a star chart, and one was a sea chart.

The star chart is currently in Mufasa's hands, while the sea chart is in someone else's hands.

Only by relying on these two maps can one accurately locate Cthulhu's sealed place, offer numerous sacrifices, and break the seal when the stars align.

Because the vast sea isolated most of Cthulhu's abilities, he could only influence people through dreams.

Back then, in the Andals Mountains, relying on an astrological alignment closest to the stars aligning, he established the Faith of the Seven in the hearts of the andals.

Later, it was also he who drove the andals in their dreams across the Narrow Sea to the continent of Westeros.

However, throughout the long course of history, those two maps—the star chart and the sea chart—that could accurately locate Rlyeh went missing.

It was Mufasa's luck that allowed him to obtain the star chart. As for the sea chart, its whereabouts are currently unknown.

In Slavers Bay, aboard a large ship about to dock at Yuan Kai, the one-eyed Euron Crows Eye put away an unfurled nautical chart and placed it back into a bamboo tube.

"Slavers Bay, huh? It's been a long time since I've been here. I really miss the taste of the Holy Maidens there!" Euron Crows Eye licked his tongue and showed a sinister smile.
