Chapter 329 - Chapter 329: You Hit My Mom?!

Hearing Harry's words, Clark fell silent.

Harry had no intention of continuing to express his own opinion. Instead, he prepared to let Clark choose the path ahead for himself. He closed the two-player fighting game, opened a new single-player adventure game, and continued playing.

After Harry defeated the bosses of two stages, Clark suddenly stood up.

Harry asked with some confusion, "What is it? Have you made your decision?"

Clark nodded. "That's right. I've decided to surrender."

Harry did not understand this. After all, if he were Clark, he would immediately charge into space and fight General Zod to the death.

After all, according to the information left inside the Kryptonian ship, General Zod would never let such a habitable planet go.

He was very likely to transform Earth into a Krypton-like environment suitable for Kryptonians. But Krypton's gravity was several times that of Earth. If that happened, after Earth's transformation was complete, billions of people would be crushed to death by the sudden increase in gravity.

However, although Harry did not understand it, he still respected it.

Someone like Clark, who possessed tremendous power yet still carried great love in his heart, was extremely rare even across the multiverse.

Besides, perhaps to Clark, the one he was surrendering to was not General Zod, nor any particular government, but all of humanity.

...

Harry did not follow Clark when he went to surrender. Instead, he used observation runes to transmit the scene around Clark back and project it in front of him, watching it together with Clark's mother.

Clark's mother naturally knew what Clark was going to do, but she only sighed and did not stop him.

First, she did not believe anyone could hurt Clark. Second, she had no better solution.

In the end, only Martha Kent and Harry were left in the living room. Martha Kent watched the projection with worry, looking at Clark's figure flying rapidly through the sky. After hesitating briefly, she said to Harry, "Harry, could you... could you help Clark if he runs into trouble? You're the only person I can ask now."

Harry immediately agreed. "Don't worry, Mrs. Kent. If Clark runs into trouble, I'll help him.

"Don't be fooled by how far away I am from Clark right now. For people at our level, distance has never been something difficult to cross.

"If necessary, I can appear beside Clark instantly, or directly affect the terrain around him from hundreds of miles away."

After hearing Harry's promise, Martha Kent finally let out a long breath, and her heart became less worried.

...

Clark was very fast. He soon arrived above a military base.

The hazy fog around the base had not yet fully dispersed. Clark hovered in the air above the military base, his red and blue cape lifting slightly in the biting wind.

He slowly lowered his arms, palms facing forward, without the slightest posture of resistance. Those eyes that had once melted through steel were now as calm as a lake covered by a thin sheet of ice.

The instant Clark was discovered, alarms suddenly rang throughout the base. The crisp sounds of thousands of firearms being loaded rose one after another. Dark gun barrels and cannon muzzles emerged from watchtowers, armored vehicles, and behind cover, ready at any moment to weave an airtight metal net around Clark.

The machine gunner closest to him had his finger hooked around the trigger, his knuckles turning white.

As an excellent soldier, he should not have been so panicked.

But the person before him was an alien with extraordinary power, floating in midair like a god among men.

Although they currently possessed powerful firepower, he still felt no confidence in his heart. He did not know whether this military base could match this alien.

General Swanwick walked out from the shadow of the command tower, staring fixedly at the god among men floating in the air.

He had served in the military for decades. He had seen rebel suicide bombers and endless artillery fire, but he had never faced an "enemy" like this.

No roaring, no weapon, just hanging there like a believer awaiting judgment, yet giving them an unparalleled sense of pressure.

The intelligence said his speed could reach several times the speed of sound and that he could withstand the impact of a nuclear bomb. Yet at this moment, he was willingly being targeted by light weapons, without the slightest posture of a powerful being. This display of weakness was more unsettling than any resistance.

The general's thumb rubbed the button of his communicator, and calculations repeatedly flashed through his mind. Was this a trap? Or... was he really afraid of hurting them?

Or perhaps this Superman was a saint who had come to surrender in order to prevent humans from being harmed by aliens?

Although General Swanwick found it unbelievable, after excluding the other possibilities one by one, this was the only possibility left.

In the end, he had no choice but to believe that this god among men, who possessed extraordinary power, might truly be a saint like Jesus.

After General Swanwick arrived at the scene, he first ordered the soldiers under him, "Everyone, stay ready to fire at any moment."

Then he walked up beside Clark and asked with some confusion, "Are you here to surrender to us?"

Clark nodded. After a pause, he corrected him. "I'm not surrendering to you. I'm surrendering to all of humanity."

...

Clark met Lois inside the military base. The two chatted for a while, and afterward, a Kryptonian ship descended from the sky and took both of them away from Earth.

What happened next was exactly as Harry had predicted. General Zod had no intention of negotiating peace with Earth at all. His goal was to obtain the Codex from Clark, terraform Earth into a Kryptonian environment, and then restart Kryptonian civilization.

This was a war between civilizations. Either Krypton would vanish completely, or Earth would be destroyed.

Afterward, because of the influence of Clark's biological father, Lois and Clark escaped from the Kryptonian ship.

Clark successfully saved the damsel in distress. At the same time, two ships descended from the sky and landed on the grass beside Clark's house.

Clark's mother, Martha, said to Harry in panic, "Harry, what should we do? Those aliens are here. They must want to use me to threaten Clark."

Unlike the panicked Martha, Harry was unusually relaxed. To him, this was all a minor scene.

"Don't worry, Mrs. Martha. With me here, those Kryptonians can't do anything to you."

Harry and Martha walked out of the house together and came to the yard.

At the same time, several Kryptonian warriors stepped down from the Kryptonian ship. The one leading them was General Zod, who had appeared before. Wearing a rigid, high-tech exoskeleton armor, he walked up to Harry and Martha, looked down at them, and questioned them.

"Where is the ship Kal first used when he arrived on Earth?"

Even without Harry beside her, Martha, as a strong woman, would not have yielded here.

And now, with the mysterious Harry Potter right beside her, Martha was even more unyielding. She sneered, "Go fuck yourself, you idiot. Drop dead."

Even after being insulted by Martha like this, General Zod did not get angry. To him, Martha was nothing but an insect. Why bother arguing with an insect?

But in order to obtain the information he wanted, he still gave his adjutant Faora a look.

Faora nodded and stepped out from behind General Zod, walking toward Martha.

But at that moment, a figure stood in front of Martha and blocked Faora's path.

Harry shook his head and smiled softly. "Sorry, beautiful lady. This area is off-limits."

Ever since entering Earth and being exposed to the yellow sun's light, Faora had felt her physical abilities improving by leaps and bounds at every moment.

With her current physical condition, she could even survive being hit by the main cannon of an interstellar warship. So she did not take the seemingly slender Harry in front of her seriously at all. She prepared to kill him with one punch and eliminate this insignificant obstacle.

Faora punched with all her strength. Her Kryptonian muscle fibers compressed and twisted rapidly, providing unimaginable driving force to her fist.

In an instant, Faora's fist produced a sonic boom. In the blink of an eye, it would strike Harry's head and smash it apart directly.

But at that moment, Faora's vision blurred. Immediately afterward, she felt a sharp pain in her fist, and then an immense force pierced straight through her fist and landed on her face.

Her body was instantly sent flying. She rolled continuously through the cornfield to the side, tearing through stalk after stalk of corn as she flew hundreds of yards away.

After Faora was sent flying, the entire scene went silent. Not a single voice could be heard. Everyone stared fixedly at Harry, their eyes filled with disbelief.

Among the many Kryptonian warriors present, aside from General Zod, none of them had even seen the punch Harry had thrown at Faora just now.

Even Zod, the strongest among them, had only seen a blur. This young Earthling named Harry actually possessed strength that had reached such an astonishing level.

A thought instantly appeared in General Zod's heart. Damn it. Krypton's intelligence deceived us. How are Earth's humans insects that can be crushed at will? They are clearly superhumans with power comparable to Kryptonian warriors.

At that moment, Harry's voice rang out again. "I told you, this area is off-limits."

Faora soon returned to General Zod's side, but her appearance was now extremely miserable.

Harry's attack just now had directly shattered the armor on her right fist, fractured the bones in that hand, collapsed her nasal bone, and cracked the bones of her upper jaw.

Her entire body was bleeding, but under the illumination of the yellow sun, she was also healing rapidly.

Even so, Faora still had no intention of attacking Harry.

Just one exchange had let her understand the gap between her and Harry. What happened next was no longer something she could decide. The only thing she should do was obey General Zod's command.

General Zod stared fixedly at Harry and said in a deep voice, "Who exactly are you? Our records do not show any human capable of reaching your level. Could you be an alien living on Earth?"

Harry shook his head and denied it. "How can you insult someone like that? I'm a pure-blooded human."

General Zod clearly did not believe him, but he no longer focused on that point.

"Fine. Even if you don't want to say, it doesn't matter. I will tell you clearly now. If you continue blocking our path, then you will be making yourself an enemy of all Krypton.

"When that time comes, even if you are very strong, you will not be a match for all of us."

Harry shook his head. "No, you're wrong. Your opponent isn't me."

The moment Harry's words fell, a thunderous boom split the air.

Clark rushed out in an instant, dragging General Zod, who had been facing off against Harry, toward the depths of the cornfield.

The green stalks collapsed behind them, forming two parallel waves. The ears of corn were torn apart by the supersonic airflow, and golden kernels hammered against their battle suits like a rainstorm.

After smashing through a grain barn, the two crashed to the ground. Because of the powerful momentum, they slid rapidly across the earth. During the process, Clark punched General Zod in the face again and again while roaring, "You think you can threaten my mother?"

The two finally slid into a gas station. Because the rapid friction between their bodies and the ground produced a large amount of sparks, the gas station was immediately ignited and exploded.

But both of them possessed bodies of steel. How could they possibly be injured by an explosion? The two slowly stood up in the flames, their bodies without any injuries.

After General Zod discovered that his helmet had been damaged, he threw it away.

Once he threw the helmet off, his skin came into direct contact with the light of the yellow sun, and because of that, he obtained even greater power.

He felt chaotic sounds constantly ringing in his ears, and his vision became jumbled, as if multiple layers of images were overlapping at the same time, giving him intense discomfort.

He thought this was Clark's doing, so he questioned him. "What did you do to me?"

Clark naturally knew what condition General Zod was in now. He had once experienced the same thing.

"This isn't my doing. It feels awful, doesn't it? My father once told me I had to learn to control myself. That's why I can perfectly master my abilities."

Because General Zod had suddenly come into contact with the light of the yellow sun, all sorts of rapid mutations were occurring inside his body, completely activating the true power of a Kryptonian.

But this mutation severely affected General Zod's combat ability, so his subordinates lifted General Zod up and brought him back onto a ship, sending him to the Kryptonian ship floating in outer space.

Of course, although General Zod temporarily withdrew because of this sudden accident, he had not given up on defeating Clark and seizing the Codex at all.

He left behind his two capable subordinates.

One of them was, of course, his adjutant Faora. The other was a huge man who stood a full seven and a half feet tall.

The two of them were slowly walking toward Clark, calm smiles on their faces, not taking Clark seriously at all.

That was right. In Kryptonian society, every person had a clearly defined role from birth, and they were fighters within that division, possessing tremendous strength.

Clark, on the other hand, was merely the son of a researcher. By all rights, his combat ability should not be a match for theirs.

Clark was also very nervous at this moment. He was breathing heavily, not because his body was exhausted, but because of the pressure on his mind.

He did not charge toward the two enemies ahead the way he had charged toward General Zod. Instead, like them, he advanced slowly step by step.

Because he needed to buy time for the ordinary people nearby to escape. A battle between three gods among men was no different from a natural disaster to mortals.
