Opening a wormhole between different worlds this time was easier than ever, and harder than ever.
Why would he have such a complicated, contradictory feeling?
Because Harry had initially tried to force open a wormhole between the two worlds the same way he always had, only to discover that even if he used all the controllable magic power he currently possessed, he still could not pry it open.
Just when he was caught in that difficulty, he suddenly discovered that there was already a parallel universe connecting the two worlds.
That discovery surprised Harry, but out of confidence in his own strength, he still followed that universe's connection and opened a wormhole passage to another multiverse.
After stepping out of the wormhole, Harry felt a chill over the surface of his body. Although he recovered in an instant, the fact that he could clearly feel the shift in temperature at all showed just how vast the difference was between the inside and outside of the wormhole.
He looked around. He was standing on a broken, old road, but the entire road was buried under snow. No one had cleared it. If Harry had not looked carefully, he would not have been able to tell it was a road at all.
The surrounding vegetation was sparse, almost completely without green.
The lonely black asphalt road lay across the snowfield like a frozen snake, winding toward the horizon. A half-melted shell of ice covered the surface, and every step made a faint crunch beneath his feet.
After walking for a while, Harry felt this was not going to work. He flew several thousand meters upward and observed the surrounding environment.
Looking down from high in the sky, he judged from the changes in the distant terrain and the various structures that this place was clearly Earth, and his current location was within this Earth's Arctic Circle.
A continuous rumble suddenly came from the distance.
Harry looked down and saw a black line cutting across the thick ice from the edge of his vision, advancing into the depths of the Arctic at least twice the speed of sound.
Was this the supernatural power of this multiverse?
Harry slowly descended from several thousand meters above. He wanted to make contact with that black line. After all, it should be a humanoid creature, perhaps even a human.
Because it had broken the sound barrier, a visible sonic boom cloud had formed around the black line, and behind him, the compressed air created by that cloud formed a trail visible to the naked eye.
When the figure crossed a chasm over a hundred meters wide, Harry appeared in front of him and finally saw what he looked like.
It was a man with jet-black hair and a pair of clear blue eyes, deep as a quiet lake.
His face looked like an ancient Greek sculpture, with distinct lines, firm yet smooth, full of depth and structure.
By all rights, a face like his should have seemed sharper, yet despite the immense power this man possessed, his entire presence felt gentle. Even after seeing Harry blocking his path, he only became wary and showed no intention of attacking.
What surprised Harry, however, was that the man's mental fluctuations seemed somewhat excited at the moment. Harry did not know why.
Actually, if he used observation runes, he should have been able to sense the man's thoughts, but Harry chose not to do so.
Just as he had not immediately spread observation runes across this world upon arriving, sometimes the unknown and adventure were among life's greatest pleasures. If he discarded all of that, then he would be a god, not a person.
Harry had no desire to become some evil Demon God even beyond Dormammu in the future.
The sudden appearance of someone in front of him was not the strange part.
What shocked Clark was that neither his super vision nor his super hearing had sensed any information about the person in front of him ahead of time.
Only now that this person stood before him could Clark finally confirm his existence. It was as if all his senses had turned into those of an ordinary mortal, only able to see and hear things nearby.
This encounter made Clark wary, but also somewhat excited.
He was wary because he did not know whether the person in front of him was friendly or hostile.
He was excited because he had finally confirmed that he was not the only special one. In fact, since he had met this mysterious person while heading toward the location of the Kryptonian ship, did that mean this mysterious person might be one of his kind?
"Who are you?" Clark's voice carried the roughness of the snow and wind. It was friendly, yet still cautious, with just the right balance.
Harry did not answer immediately. Instead, a faint, nearly invisible layer of observation runes appeared in his eyes. The observation runes flashed and vanished, and he obtained some shallow information without observing causality or spacetime.
Harry rubbed his chin and said in a somewhat puzzled but very certain tone, "You don't seem to be a pure-blooded human."
If Clark had heard this when he was younger, he definitely would have been angry. But ever since his parents had told him about his origins, he would no longer get angry over a statement like that, because it was the truth.
He truly was not a pure-blooded human. He might not even be human at all, but some alien creature wearing a human shell.
Harry continued speaking, and what he said next surprised Clark a little.
"You are not a pure-blooded human, but rather some kind of human subspecies, like a half-elf or a half-orc," Harry said thoughtfully.
"Human subspecies?" This was Clark's first time hearing someone describe him that way. "Do half-elves and half-orcs really exist? And am I really a human subspecies?"
Even if he was not a pure-blooded human, it was enough as long as he was related to humans.
At the very least, this allowed Clark to be certain he was not an alien with absolutely no connection to Earth.
Harry nodded and answered, "That's right. Half-elves and half-orcs truly exist. In the vast, boundless multiverse, there are even universes ruled by elves. That isn't strange. But you, what are you doing running through the Arctic Circle in the middle of the night? You seem to be heading deeper into the Arctic Circle with a clear destination. Are you looking for something?"
Clark hesitated, unsure whether he should tell this mysterious person about his origins.
In the end, he chose not to say anything. Although his father had told him he must be sincere and kind, he had also taught him to be cautious around strangers.
But Clark was not good at lying either, so he could only stand there in silence.
Harry had no intention of pressing him. For someone at his level, the unknown and adventure were incredibly fascinating things.
So in order to reasonably join this man's adventure, Harry drew his wand and lightly tapped the air in front of him.
At first, the man looked puzzled, but he soon discovered that the clothes on his body, already tattered by the sonic booms, had undergone a tremendous change.
The old garments quickly changed in nature and extended outward, eventually turning into a special, dense material that clung closely to his skin without giving him even the slightest feeling of restraint.
Clark tried throwing a punch and became even more astonished. This was the first time he had ever encountered clothing capable of withstanding his full strength.
"What is this? How did you do it?" Clark asked.
Harry put his wand back into his Pocket dimension and explained with a smile, "This is magic. Transfiguration. It can change the nature and state of matter. How does it feel? Does it fit?"
Clark nodded. "Yes. I've never felt this comfortable before."
Because of Harry's gift, Clark developed a great deal of goodwill toward him. He took the initiative to introduce himself first.
"Hello, my friend. I'm Clark. As you can see, I'm a human subspecies. Right now, I'm going to search for the origin of my birth, so we may have to part ways for now. Why don't we exchange contact information? Maybe we can grab a drink together afterward."
Harry, of course, would not leave. He also wanted to see what Clark's origins truly were.
Harry had seen many human subspecies throughout the universe before, such as the half-elves and half-orcs he had just mentioned.
But without exception, those human subspecies were nowhere near as powerful as Clark.
Through that shallow observation just now, Harry discovered that Clark's body had already reached an extreme level of efficiency in its use of energy.
Moreover, his body seemed like some kind of highly advanced reactor. It only needed to absorb the light of a yellow sun and use that sunlight as a catalyst to continuously generate vast amounts of energy.
This energy could grant him a body of steel, allow him to shoot beams from his eyes, let him exhale storms of freezing air, and create a transparent, invisible, high-energy force field around his body.
According to Harry's observations, Clark's current strength had already reached the sub-Skyfather-level, and this was still before he had fully matured.
That meant if Clark awakened his potential, not even fully, just part of it, he could step into the Skyfather-level domain.
What kind of divine species was this?
This meant Clark's racial potential was even greater than that of the dragons in the multiverse. Those dragons merely reached Skyfather-level after adulthood, while after Clark matured, if his potential was fully awakened, he might very well step into the single-universe-level domain.
If he had another opportunity, such as obtaining higher-dimensional energy like the Phoenix Force, or if he underwent long-term solar exposure and the reactor inside his body experienced a new mutation, then he might even have a slight chance of stepping into the multiversal domain.
Harry secretly sucked in a breath of cold air and felt that this was terrifying beyond belief.
No. He had to investigate the specific information of this species clearly. Perhaps he could use this species' bodily structure and other information to create a brand-new body-strengthening spell.
If he could combine that new strengthening spell with Magnetic Field Propulsion, then the limits of body-strengthening magic would rise dramatically.
That possibility alone made Harry feel that coming to this multiverse had been absolutely the right decision.
Harry shook his head and rejected Clark's proposal.
"I've encountered many races throughout the multiverse, and I also want to explore the mysteries of those races.
"Why don't we travel together? I may be able to help you search for information about your origins and provide you with a lot of assistance."
Clark hesitated again, but when he saw the sincerity in Harry's eyes, he finally agreed.
"All right, my friend. Then I'll leave it to you. By the way, I still don't know your name."
Harry smiled brightly. "My name is Harry Potter. I'm a wizard. Well, a fairly strong one."
...
Beside an ice layer somewhere deep in the Arctic, a helicopter slowly landed.
Several reporters stepped out of the helicopter. They were here on behalf of their newspapers to interview the local research team.
Recently, an explosive piece of news had broken, something that seemed to be an alien spacecraft resting deep within the Arctic ice.
Every one of them wanted to obtain key information about that ship.
But it was obvious that the research team did not welcome them, believing that these reporters would interfere with scientific progress.
No, since the government had already allowed these reporters to come for interviews, the research team would not openly refuse them. However, the accommodations provided to the reporters were clearly worse than those of the research team members. There was not even a place to use the bathroom.
The reporters did not care. For the sake of a story, their level of madness was no different from that of obsessive celebrity fans.
After settling in, most of the reporters went everywhere nearby to take photos.
But there was one exception, the Daily Planet's star reporter, Lois Lane.
Lois Lane was the ace reporter of the Daily Planet, known for being brave, independent, and extremely professional.
As a reporter, she was sharp and persistent. She always pursued the truth, often even venturing deep into dangerous places to dig up stories.
Over the course of Lois's career, she had published many famous reports and exposed many unknown truths.
Because of that, the members of the research team and the soldiers stationed there treated Lois much better than they treated the other reporters.
So one researcher led Lois into the monitoring room and explained the research team's discoveries to her.
As the metal door slid open, it brought with it the smell of disinfectant. The researcher pushed up the blue-light-blocking glasses on the bridge of his nose and motioned for Lois to follow.
"Ms. Lane, you need to prepare yourself. This thing is beyond our imagination."
"The satellite scan three days ago detected an abnormal magnetic field." The researcher pulled up a three-dimensional model, his fingertip gliding across the outline of the virtual hull. "Initial judgment says it's an alloy-like material, but its structural strength is seven times that of any known metal. Look here."
He enlarged the image.
"Spectral analysis shows traces of antimatter residue. It looks like something punched through it with some kind of energy weapon, but the way it was penetrated is beyond any weapon on Earth.
"More importantly, this thing, whether it's a submarine or an alien spacecraft, is surrounded by ice that is already twenty thousand years old."
Lois was also highly educated, so of course she understood what that meant.
If the flow of time around that thing had not been abnormal, then it meant this object had existed even longer than human history.
Nine times out of ten, it really was an alien spacecraft.
As evening approached, Lois quietly left her room and headed toward the ice with her camera.
Although the research team and the stationed troops would allow her to take a small number of photos because of her reputation, she also knew that the research team would never allow her to touch the most classified information.
So if she wanted to obtain the most classified information, she would need to take the initiative.
