"It means exactly what it sounds like," Thor said flatly. "At certain special times, Harry's power has already surpassed even my father's and reached an even higher level. That's why even my father can't afford to take Harry lightly and has to treat him with full seriousness."
"Huh?" Jane's eyes widened, her face full of disbelief.
Not only had the questions in her mind failed to fade, they had actually snowballed into something even bigger.
She could not help muttering to herself inwardly, Wait, isn't Harry just a sorcerer?
Sure, he's strong, but your father is Odin, the famous All-Father, ruler of a vast divine realm. How could he possibly be weaker than Harry?
Harry is just a human from Earth. In the endless history of the universe, Earth is barely a speck. So how could he possibly surpass Odin, a god-king who has dominated the cosmos for thousands of years?
That made no sense at all.
Thor noticed Jane's confusion and let out a small sigh. Patiently, he began explaining again.
"Jane, in this world, age and power may be related, but that's far from being some fixed, unbreakable law.
Across the Multiverse, strange people and stranger things appear all the time. Every now and then, someone stumbles across some extraordinary opportunity, or a mysterious method of cultivation, and their strength rises at astonishing speed.
It's just that for most people, even when they break through, the increase is still fairly limited.
But Harry is different. He improved a bit too much. He jumped straight to the multiversal level and gained power strong enough to shake the balance of the entire Multiverse!"
At that moment, Jane had the same feeling as finding out one of her friends was rich, only to realize afterward that he was not just rich, but the richest person in the world.
She still did not understand some of the terms Thor was using, so she asked,
"You mentioned things like single-universe and multiverse-level just now, so what exactly does a multiversal-level powerhouse mean?"
Thor explained,
"A being at that level can not only control the energies and laws of a single universe, but can also reach the level of the Multiverse itself, with a deep understanding of and mastery over the connections between different universes, the flow of energy, and changes in the rules that govern them..."
Jane: "..."
She did not understand a single word.
All she got was that he was ridiculously powerful.
...
After learning why they had come, Odin nodded slightly, then turned and led them toward a towering and majestic hall.
Before they had even entered, everyone's eyes were instantly drawn upward.
What they saw was not some ordinary golden, lavishly decorated ceiling, but the projection of an enormous crystalline tree.
Just before stepping into the room, Odin suddenly turned around, glared sharply at Thor, then cast a glance at Jane beside him. The warm smile he had worn while speaking to Harry vanished, replaced by a stern expression.
"Thor, do my words truly go in one ear and out the other?
This time, for Harry's sake, I won't pursue the matter. But next time, under no circumstances is she to come to Asgard again.
She is only a mortal. She ought to be treated by doctors on Earth."
Thor immediately tried to protest.
"No, Father, Jane is sick..."
Odin cut him off even more harshly.
"Mortals get sick. That is normal. You should be setting your sights on the women of Asgard."
Thor still wanted to argue, but Odin had already stopped paying attention to him. He turned away with a broad smile and resumed chatting with Harry.
At the side, Jane tugged at Thor's collar and said with self-mocking humor,
"Looks like your father really did hear what I said earlier. And apparently he doesn't want you dating me.
Thor, I really am a little out of your league."
The moment Thor heard that, he immediately grabbed Jane's hand and promised with a face full of earnest seriousness,
"Don't worry. I'll never let you go."
At such close range, Odin had of course heard every word Thor and Jane exchanged from start to finish.
Even with his temperament, his expression stiffened a little.
This son was becoming impossible.
After entering the room, Odin waved his hand lightly, and the projection of the World Tree was immediately illuminated.
On its nine largest branches, nine glowing spheres representing the Nine Realms flickered with light. Pointing at one of the dimmest of them, Odin explained gravely,
"Since ancient times, the Nine Realms have endured forever, but that does not mean they are immutable. They have their dawn, and naturally, they have their dusk.
Before the dawn, the Dark Elves ruled all, dominating the world alone. Their leader, Malekith, possessed an Infinity Stone: the Reality Stone, also known as the Aether.
If it is him, then he can easily extract the Aether from Jane's body without harming her."
Thor had always been impatient by nature, so the instant he heard that, he blurted out,
"Then where is Malekith now? Let's go find him right away!"
Seeing how rash and restless Thor looked, Odin frowned deeply, disappointment flashing through his eyes.
He suddenly drew Gungnir from his waist and, with a heavy thump, smacked Thor on the head before shouting,
"Idiot. Wait until I've finished speaking!"
Noticing Harry's gaze turning toward them, Odin coughed lightly and said in a much gentler tone,
"Ahem, my apologies, Harry. That was embarrassing. I'll continue.
In truth, there's no need for us to actively search for Malekith.
That man is extremely sensitive to the Aether. Now that it has awakened inside Jane and its fluctuations are so strong, he will certainly notice and won't be able to resist coming to us himself.
But the difficult problem before us is this: once Malekith successfully absorbs the Aether, his strength will increase explosively. In an extremely short time, he may reach a terrifyingly high level.
If that happens, the entire Nine Realms, and perhaps an even broader swath of the universe, will face an unprecedented catastrophe.
And I have grown too old now to wield my power freely, so..."
Harry smoothly picked up the conversation and accepted the task.
"Don't worry, King Odin. Even if Malekith absorbs the Aether, I'll still be the one to defeat him. There's no need to worry."
Although Harry's normal state was only below Skyfather level, nowhere near a true Skyfather, once he approached the brink of losing control, he could absolutely suppress a Skyfather-tier powerhouse.
And with the Time Stone helping him on top of that, Harry felt like this was a guaranteed win.
A mere Malekith had no chance of escaping being dealt with properly.
...
Several days passed in the blink of an eye.
In the dark depths of outer space, a scarred spacecraft floated silently.
Inside the command room, Malekith stared fixedly at the screen before him and said in a low voice,
"The Nine Realms are about to align. This is our only chance in thousands of years to cast them back into darkness!"
At one side, an elf far larger than the other Dark Elves stepped out from the shadows and said deeply,
"Malekith, rest assured. Odin is no longer capable of taking action, and even that madwoman Hela has been sealed away by him. Asgard is practically undefended as far as we're concerned.
As long as we can seize the bearer of the Aether, we will revive the Dark Elves and fulfill our shared great cause!"
...
Inside the Asgardian prison, Harry arrived before a magical cell and looked inside.
There he saw a beautiful woman with long pale hair, exquisite features, and a cold, distinguished aura. She sat elegantly in a chair, sipping fragrant tea from a cup.
Though the woman before him was undeniably gorgeous, Harry naturally felt no affection toward her. Part of that was because of Gwen, and part of it was because the woman in front of him was not exactly a normal woman at all, but someone transformed from a man.
Harry lightly tapped the transparent magical barrier, reminding Loki of his presence, and said with a smile,
"Hello, Loki. Long time no see. How have you been lately?"
At first Loki still looked lofty and aloof, but the instant she saw Harry, her whole demeanor changed. She immediately turned vicious and cold, gritting her teeth as she glared at him.
"Damn you, Harry Potter! Change me back right now, or I swear I'll make you regret ever coming to this world!"
Harry shook his head, completely unmoved by the threat, and replied with an unconcerned smile,
"Then you'd better work hard. Not long ago, I killed Nightmare. If you want to kill me, you'll need to be at least multiversal level first."
"What?" Loki's expression froze.
Of course she knew who Nightmare was, a mysterious and powerful Dimensional Demon God. And Harry had actually killed him?
If anyone else had told her that, she never would have believed it. But the person saying it was Harry, which meant there was a very high chance it was true.
Harry had no need to lie, and no interest in doing so. He had more than enough power to accomplish such things.
Loki's expression grew even uglier as she demanded,
"Why are you here? Just to laugh at me?"
Harry shook his head.
"I'm not nearly as bored as you are. I came because I want to ask you for a favor."
Mockery appeared on Loki's face.
"And what makes you think I'd agree?"
"Because you absolutely will," Harry said without hesitation. "This concerns Thor. And if you agree, I can persuade Odin to temporarily let you out of your cell."
"And the extra condition?" Loki clearly did not believe Harry would be so kind.
Sure enough, Harry gave a wicked grin.
"You need to help me test potions."
After the Witch Potion, Harry still had several other potions that needed testing, but he had been unable to find a suitable subject.
And Loki, with her powerful physique after drinking the Witch Potion, was obviously the most fitting choice.
The moment she saw the look on Harry's face, Loki immediately knew that "testing potions" was definitely nothing good. She refused without hesitation.
"Forget it. That's impossible."
Harry simply spread his hands.
"You've already turned into this. What's the worst that could happen?
And once you agree, you'll immediately gain a certain degree of freedom.
More importantly, even if you refuse, I can still use you to test potions anyway."
"You—" Loki's face changed dramatically. In the end, she still gritted her teeth and gave in. "Fine. You win. What do you want me to do now?"
"In a little while, a very special guest will arrive. I need you to point him toward Thor's palace."
Loki: "???"
...
Harry stayed in Asgard for the time being.
Several days had already passed since his meeting with Loki.
At that moment, he was studying a spellbook from the Asgardian library when he suddenly heard a deafening explosion coming from the prison.
Harry immediately set the spellbook down, a brilliant smile appearing on his face.
The fish had taken the bait.
A moment later, a towering Dark Elf in magical armor and a bull-headed mask charged over with dozens of Dark Elf soldiers.
They quickly noticed Harry calmly drinking tea nearby. The tall Dark Elf leading them bared a savage grin and said,
"Well, well. A sweet little thing."
