Jay pov.
I woke up to the sound of knocking on my door.
It was Tita.
"Jay, wake up, otherwise you'll be late."
"Okay, I'm awake."
Then I went to the washroom to freshen up. After that, I went for breakfast. Aries was giving me glares—I had avoided him last night, and now I had to face him.
I quickly finished my breakfast and came back to my room.
Then I checked my phone. There were two missed calls from Keifer. Just then, he called again, and I picked up immediately.
"Hey," I greeted.
"Good morning, my love," he said, and heat rose to my neck. I felt butterflies in my stomach.
"Good morning to you too," I replied.
"Be ready. I'm coming to pick you up."
"Okay." I ended the call. Thank God—I don't have to listen to Aries' demons this early.
I started getting ready, and Keifer called again. I told him to wait a little. I don't know why, but today I'm excited to see him, and I'm making sure I look good.
I applied tint—wrong twice—but thank God it doesn't look that bad now. Then I applied lip gloss and perfume. I put the perfume on my neck because… who knows, he might suddenly kiss my neck.
I wasn't like this before, but now I'm changing. Maybe it's for good… whatever.
Keifer called again, so I rushed out and saw his car. I went to him and got in.
"Hey, sorry I made you wait," I said.
"It's okay. Anything for my wife."
"Hey, we are not married yet," I said, laughing.
"Not yet, but we will be," he said confidently—and I love that.
He was about to start the car, but before that, I kissed him on the cheek. He froze, then smiled, and without warning, kissed me on the lips. I kissed him back, matching every move he made. Then I broke the kiss and told him to drive.
We reached school. He parked the car, and we got out almost at the same time. While we were talking, I saw Ella staring at Keifer—and I swear, I wanted to stab her eyeballs.
We reached our classroom. It was chaotic, like always.
Some greeted us as we entered.
Cin was eating ice cream—seriously, this early? He offered me some, and I was about to take it, but Keifer caught my hand. I looked at him, frustrated.
"No ice cream. It's too early to eat something like this," he said.
I pouted because he was right… but I still wanted it.
"But I want to eat it," I said like a child.
"I'll buy you one at lunch."
My face lit up. Then I heard cheers. When I turned, everyone was watching. I just rolled my eyes, and they laughed.
Denzel was talking on the phone with Grace, then switched to a video call.
All the ulopong gathered around him, trying to take the phone, but baby Grazal was crying, so Denzel stopped them and started comforting her. When he spoke, she slowly stopped crying.
Everyone was shocked.
When he cut the call, I asked, "Grazal loves you a lot."
He smiled and nodded. "She doesn't sleep without me cuddling her. She's my everything."
I felt so touched, I almost got emotional.
Then he added, "They are my life—my wife and my daughter. She cries when I leave the house. That's why I didn't come the past two days. But I have to work and study, so Grace distracted her while I left."
That's so cute… she's really cute.
"Denzel, I'll come to your house to meet Grazal. It's a half day anyway," I said.
He nodded, and Keifer said he would come with me.
Soon Sir Alvin entered, and class started. I got bored and tired, so I rested my head on Keifer's shoulder and looped my arm around his.
After class, Keifer bought me lunch. We ate together, and then it was time to go home. Since it was still early, I planned to visit Grace and Grazal.
The king of ulopong said, "Let's go," and walked ahead.
I followed him. We were on the ground floor when suddenly—out of nowhere—he pinned me against the wall.
"What?" I asked.
"After visiting Grazal, can you come to my house… or we can go on a date?"
A date? We've never had an official one… but I'm not ready. Our first date in uniform? No way.
"Let's go to your house. We can go on a date another day," I said.
His face lit up, and he kissed me deeply. I kissed back. Then he went lower and kissed my neck.
Huh… good thing I applied perfume there.
Wow… I'm really predicting things now. Do I have the ability of my horoscope brother?
"Let's go to Grazal first," I said, and he agreed.
When we reached the location Denzel sent, we couldn't find the house—it was new. So Keifer called him, and he came to get us.
As we entered, Grace greeted us and gave us a brief hug. Then she handed me Grazal. She's bigger now… not as tiny as before.
Grace went to the kitchen, and Denzel went to help her. It was just me, Keifer, and Grazal.
I kissed her cheek, and she squealed.
I laughed. She babbled something, and I pretended to understand.
"Hi baby, I'm your godmother," I said.
She giggled like she understood.
"And I'm the godfather," Keifer said. She reached for him, and he held her.
"Pa," she said, pointing at Keifer.
We both laughed.
Then she looked at me and babbled, "Ma-ma!"
I laughed. Keifer laughed too.
Denzel came and said, "You guys really know how to handle kids. Are you planning to give Grazal a playmate?"
"No."
"Yes."
We said in unison. I smacked Keifer, and he just laughed.
I kept playing with the baby, while Keifer looked at me like I was his whole world—completely lost in his thoughts.
Then Grazal started crying. No one could calm her—not even Grace. Then Denzel came from the washroom, held her, and she immediately stopped.
"She only wants you," Grace said.
Denzel smiled, and I couldn't help but smile too. I looked at Keifer—he was smiling as well.
Soon Grazal fell asleep, and we said our goodbyes.
While driving back, it started raining. It felt peaceful—just me and Keifer, alone in the car, with rain outside.
"Jay."
"Hmm?"
"Today, seeing Grazal with Denzel… I want a daughter too. One who loves me like that… and I'll love her even more."
I froze. The image of Keifer playing with our daughter… it felt so warm. I wanted that too. But we can't plan a baby right now—we're still students.
"Keifer… not now. Maybe in a few years, after marriage," I said.
He smiled, and a tear slipped from his eye.
"Yeah… after marriage."
"I can't wait to make you completely mine," he added.
I couldn't stop smiling.
Soon we reached his house.
As we entered, our clothes were wet, and no one was home.
He guided me to his room. It was big—and simple, unlike mine, which is full of mess, plushies, and colors.
"Sit," he said.
"I'm wet," I replied.
"Go freshen up. I'll arrange your clothes," he said and turned to go.
But I held his hand. He looked at our hands, then at me.
"No need. I'll just wear one of your shirts," I said.
He smiled and pulled me into his walk-in closet, opening the wardrobe.
"Choose whatever you want."
I picked a black T-shirt. Then I remembered—I had shorts in my bag. I carry them during my periods just in case… and thank God I forgot to remove them.
Everything really feels meant to happen… hmm.
I took a bath and changed. When I came out, Keifer had already freshened up.
"You done?" he asked.
I nodded.
Suddenly, he pulled me toward him. He leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back. After a moment, he broke the kiss.
"I love you, Jay."
"I love you too, Keifer," I replied.
He smiled.
"Jay, you don't know how long I've waited to hear that… how much I wanted to hear it," he said—and kissed me again.
