Chapter 118 - Chapter 106: The Clueless Chat, The Interrogation, and The Ghost Trap

[ Location: Gryffindor Boys' Dormitory ][ Date: September 3rd, 1993 - Thursday Evening ]

I slammed my dorm door shut, locked it, and slid down to the floor.

I took a deep, shaky breath and wiped a drop of blood from my nose.

'Okay, that was way too close,' I thought. 'I just handed the planet to a cosmic entity to show off.'

A blue system screen popped up in my face and it was flashing an angry red.

[ SYSTEM WARNING: FINAL NOTICE. ]

[ Do not summon Outer Gods in low-level worlds. Next violation equals severe point penalties. ]

"Got it," I muttered, swiping the screen away. "Keep the big scary thoughts locked up."

I opened the Chat Group

They were just bragging like always.

Esdeath: I am so bored, I froze an entire rebel army today and none of them lasted five minutes.

Lloyd Frontera (Admin): You think that's fun? I just scammed a rich noble into buying a toxic swamp. I told him it was a 'luxury mud bath'. Bow to your Admin!

Ryomen Sukuna: You are all pathetic. I'm stuck watching this brat eat ramen. Wake me up when someone strong actually shows up.

Makima: Control takes patience and you all act like children.

I stared at the chat.

A slow, arrogant grin spread across my face.

'Let them think they are the scariest things in the room,' I smirked.

Before I could type a snarky reply, someone pounded on my door.

"Frostwell!" Professor McGonagall's strict voice barked. "The Headmaster's office. Now."

[ Location: The Headmaster's Office ][ Time: 7:00 PM ]

I walked into Dumbledore's office.

Usually, it looked like a cozy magic shop but today, it looked like a war zone.

Because half the silver instruments on his desk were melted into smoking metal.

The portraits on the walls were wide awake, staring at me like I was a magical beast.

Dumbledore sat behind his desk.

"Sit" Dumbledore said.

I sat down and slammed my [ Occlumency Level 5 ] mental walls down instantly and my mind became an unbreakable steel vault.

"Professor Lupin gave me a report," Dumbledore said, leaning forward. " What exactly came out of that wardrobe, Vivan?"

He stared right into my eyes and he was trying to read my mind using Legilimency.

'Nice try, old man but you're not getting anything.'

My mental shields didn't even budge.

"It was a nightmare, Professor," I lied smoothly, putting on my best untouchable attitude. "I have a very vivid imagination."

"A nightmare?" Dumbledore said, his voice hard.

He pointed at his melted desk toys. "A bad dream did this? A bad dream shook the entire planet? It happen at the same time.... Don't you think its weird"

"With all due respect, Professor," I shot back, sounding totally bored. "If I had the power to cause global earthquakes, do you honestly think I'd be sitting here doing Potions homework? I'd be charging rent for the planet."

Dumbledore didn't blink.

"I just have strong magic," I shrugged. "Maybe your school's security wards are just outdated. Am I paying for the broken desk toys, or what?"

He stared at me for a long time and he knew I was lying.

But logic was on my side, and he had zero proof.

"Some doors should remain closed, Mr. Frostwell," Dumbledore warned darkly.

"I'll keep that in mind," I stood up, adjusting my collar. "Can I go? I need sleep."

He didn't stop me so I walked out, leaving the greatest wizard in the world completely in the dark.

[ Location: Gryffindor Common Room ][ Time: 10:30 PM ]

The common room was quiet.

Harry was staring at the fire, still freaked out by class and ron was sitting next to him, holding his fat, ugly rat.

"Scabbers is acting weird," Ron complained, poking the rat. "He's shivering and keeps trying to hide."

I stood by the stairs, looking right at the rat.

'Peter Pettigrew. The traitor.'

I walked over and leaned down.

The rat looked up, met my eyes, and squeaked in absolute terror.

"He looks terrified, Ron," I said, dropping my voice.

I let a tiny, heavy sliver of my aura press directly onto the rat. "Rats usually run when they realize they're locked in a cage with a predator. Better keep him on a tight leash."

Peter Pettigrew (Scabbers) panicked and bit Ron's finger hard and scrambled deep into Ron's sweater to hide from me.

"Ow! Bad Scabbers!" Ron yelped.

'Not tonight, you coward,' I thought, backing away. 'I need to build my monster army first.'

I walked over to Shikamaru, who was snoring on a beanbag chair.

I kicked his shoe. "Get up and get your coat."

Shikamaru opened one eye and glared at me. "No. It's late. I don't get paid for this. Go cause a global panic by yourself."

"We're going hunting," I said, tossing him his trench coat. "I'll buy you a lifetime supply of candy. Move it."

[ Location: Hogwarts Front Gates ][ Time: Midnight ]

We snuck out of the castle.

The freezing fog rolled over the wet grass near the iron gates.

"This is stupid," Shikamaru shivered, hands stuffed in his pockets. "It's freezing."

"Stop whining and watch my back," I whispered.

The air temperature suddenly plunged.

Frost killed the grass under our boots.

A towering, rotting figure in a black cloak glided out of the fog.

A Dementor sensed us instantly and raised its skeletal hands and took a rattling, wet breath, trying to eat our happy memories.

Shikamaru pulled a ninja kunai.

"I got this," I said.

I stepped right up to the monster.

I dropped my mental shields for exactly one second.

I let the chaotic, burning energy of my dark powers flash in my eyes.

The Dementor stopped dead. It sensed the ultimate predator looking back at it and threw its hands up in panic and tried to back away.

"Sit down," I commanded.

'Telekinesis: Gravity Well.'

CRUNCH.

I slammed my mind down on it.

The Dementor was crushed flat against the frozen mud instantly and writhed on the ground, completely paralyzed by the invisible weight.

"Nice," Shikamaru said, lowering his knife. "Now what? Put it in a jar?"

I sliced my hand through the air.

A glowing green portal tore open right next to the pinned monster, showing the toxic ash of my Upside Down dimension.

I grabbed the struggling ghost with my mind, lifted it up like a piece of trash, and threw it violently through the portal.

"Welcome to the army," I smirked, snapping the portal shut with a clap.

I dusted off my coat and looked at Shikamaru.

"One down," I grinned. "Ninety-nine to go. Let's go get some sleep."
