Chapter 115 - Chapter 104: The Ghost Train, The Giant Bird, and The Spider Heist

[ Location: King's Cross Station / Hogwarts Express ][ Date: September 1st, 1993 ]

The train whistle blew loudly, but Mr. Weasley grabbed Harry's shoulder and pulled him behind a brick pillar.

He looked totally panicked.

"Harry, listen to me," Mr. Weasley pleaded. "Promise me you won't go looking for Sirius Black. No matter what you hear."

"Why would I look for a guy who wants to kill me?" Harry asked, completely confused.

I leaned against the brick wall and sighed.

"Because you have zero survival skills, Harry," I said flatly. "If someone paints a giant red target on a door and says 'Do Not Open', you kick it down just to see what happens."

Mr. Weasley blinked, startled, but he nodded. "Vivan is right, just... stay safe."

"Relax, Mr. Weasley," I smirked, grabbing my trunk. "If this Black guy shows up, I'll bag him for you. Let's go."

We boarded the train and found an empty compartment.

Shikamaru instantly slumped against the window and went to sleep and hermione and Ron piled in right after, already arguing about Ron's rat.

In the corner, a shabby-looking man was passed out against the glass.

His suitcase read: Professor R.J. Lupin.

Halfway to Hogwarts, the train slammed to a violent stop and the lights died completely.

The air turned freezing cold.

Ice crawled across the windows in jagged webs and every breath we took turned into white clouds.

"Did we break down?" Hermione shivered, hugging herself.

"Nope," I said, feeling my danger sense go off. "We're being boarded and it smells like a rotting corpse."

The compartment door slid open.

A towering figure in a ragged black cloak floated into the doorway.

It had no face. It sucked the air out of the room with a wet, rattling gasp.

A Dementor.

Harry went completely stiff and his eyes rolled back into his head, and he started sliding out of his seat.

Lupin started to wake up in the corner, fumbling for his wand.

I stood up and stepped right in the monster's face, blocking Harry.

"Hey, Rag-face," I said.

The Dementor paused.

It looked down at me, took a deep breath, and tried to suck out my soul.

Big mistake.

I dropped my mental shields for exactly one second and let the Dementor feel what I kept locked in my head—the raw, burning chaos of Pennywise the Clown and the heavy, crushing weight of my dark dimension.

My eyes flashed from boring brown to a blinding, toxic Orange.

"I literally have a fear-eating demon living in my head," I whispered coldly. "Walk away before I eat you."

The Dementor recoiled like I had just slapped it with fire.

It shrieked, spun around, and flew frantically down the corridor, fleeing the train as fast as it could.

The lights popped back on and ice melted.

Lupin was sitting bolt upright now, gripping his wand tightly and staring at me like I was a magical creature.

"What exactly are you, Mr. Frostwell?" Lupin asked softly.

"Not on the menu, Sir," I smiled, my eyes back to normal. "Want some chocolate?"

Dumbledore stood at his owl podium.

"Hogwarts will be hosted by the Dementors of Azkaban," Dumbledore announced to the silent hall. "They are stationed at every entrance and do not give them a reason to harm you."

I nudged Shikamaru.

"Did you hear that, Shika?" I whispered. "Free security guards at every exit."

"Don't bring a ghost home, Vivan," Shikamaru grumbled. "I'm not fighting it."

"I'm not fighting them," I smirked, taking a bite of food. "I'm going to draft them."

[ Location: Divination Class / Care of Magical Creatures ][ Date: September 2nd, 1993 ]

Divination class was a total joke.

We were sitting in a stuffy attic.

Professor Trelawney—who looked like a giant, glittering bug—gasped loudly into Harry's teacup.

"My dear boy," she whispered dramatically. "You have the Grim! It is an omen of death!"

Harry turned pale.

Ron backed his chair up in horror.

"Looks like a wet dog to me, lady," I said from my beanbag chair.

Trelawney glared at me. "The Inner Eye does not see dogs, boy! It sees doom!"

"My Inner Eye sees a scam," I shot back. "Can I drop this class and sleep instead?"

Hermione snorted, trying hard to hide her laugh.

After lunch was Hagrid's class.

We were out by the forest. Hagrid brought out a Hippogriff named Buckbeak.

It was half-eagle, half-horse, and completely massive.

Harry rode it, and everyone clapped.

Then Draco Malfoy ruined it.

"This is easy!" Malfoy sneered, walking right up to the giant bird-horse. "You're not dangerous, are you, you ugly brute?"

Buckbeak shrieked and reared up on its hind legs and slashed its razor-sharp claws down.

"AHHHH!" Malfoy screamed, falling backward into the grass.

Blood stained his sleeve. "It killed me! I'm dying!"

"You're just scratched!" Hagrid panicked and scooped the crying Slytherin up in his giant arms and ran for the castle. "Class dismissed!"

The students freaked out. It was total chaos.

I looked at Shikamaru.

"I'm out, cover me," I said quietly.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

"Spider hunting."

I slipped away into the shadows of the Forbidden Forest, leaving the screaming students behind.

I walked deep into the dark trees where no one could see me.

'Telekinesis: Scan.'

I felt them instantly. Massive, heavy bodies clicking through the branches above me.

I slashed my hand through the air.

A glowing green portal tore open, showing the dark, toxic ash of the Upside Down.

Three Acromantulas—spiders the size of minivans—dropped from the trees, hissing angrily at me.

"Congratulations," I said flatly. "You've been evicted."

'Telekinesis: Mass Grip.'

I clenched my fist and three giant spiders froze in mid-air, completely helpless.

I tossed them effortlessly through the green portal like they weighed nothing.

"Tell the Basilisk I said hi," I smirked, snapping the portal shut.

My private monster army was getting deadlier by the second.
