Silver light swallowed the frozen heavens.
Hundreds of symbols hovered above Reikosha Academy like a second sky, their glow reflecting across shattered buildings and broken earth. The academy remained trapped within Absolute Time Dominion, suspended in a moment that should never have existed. Every student, every teacher, every fragment of stone remained frozen exactly where time had abandoned them.
Only two figures moved.
Kronos stood calmly in the center of the battlefield, his black coat shifting slightly as temporal energy flowed around him. Opposite him, Yura lowered her stance and watched the countless symbols rotating overhead. She could feel danger from every direction. The attacks had not yet begun, yet her instincts already warned her that this would be different from the previous barrage.
The symbols suddenly descended.
The first wave shot forward like a storm of silver comets.
Yura immediately moved.
Her body twisted between two incoming attacks before leaping over a third. She landed on the remains of a collapsed tower, only for another cluster of symbols to appear directly above her. Explosions erupted around the structure, forcing her to jump away as stone and debris scattered across the frozen battlefield.
Unlike before, however, she wasn't simply running.
She was watching.
Learning.
Every attack carried a pattern.
Every symbol moved according to Kronos's will.
The realization slowly formed in her mind.
Kronos wasn't overwhelming opponents through raw power alone.
He controlled the battlefield itself.
Every movement.
Every position.
Every possibility.
The fight had become a giant board, and Kronos had already calculated several moves ahead.
Another symbol activated beside her.
Yura narrowly dodged.
A second one activated where she would land.
She changed direction.
A third waited there.
Her eyes widened.
"He predicted it..."
The realization hit her immediately.
The symbols weren't chasing her.
They were herding her.
Guiding her toward locations Kronos had already chosen.
Far away, Kronos observed silently.
His expression remained calm.
Cold.
Patient.
The pressure on Yura steadily increased as more symbols activated around her. Every escape route seemed to close. Every movement became more difficult. She felt as though invisible walls were slowly surrounding her.
Then Kronos finally moved.
He appeared directly in front of her.
Yura reacted instantly, swinging her leg toward his head. Kronos effortlessly blocked the attack and countered with a palm strike that sent her sliding backward across the frozen earth.
Before she could recover, he was already advancing.
A punch.
A kick.
An elbow.
A series of flawless attacks flowed together like a river.
Yura defended desperately.
Sometimes she succeeded.
Most of the time she failed.
The difference in experience was overwhelming.
Every technique Kronos used felt refined through centuries of battle.
Every movement carried purpose.
Every strike carried certainty.
Yura found herself pushed farther and farther back.
Then she noticed something strange.
The ground beneath her feet felt heavier.
At first she ignored it.
The battle demanded too much concentration.
But the sensation continued growing.
Each step became slightly slower.
Each jump required more effort.
Each movement demanded more energy than before.
Kronos noticed her confusion.
A faint smile appeared.
"You're beginning to feel it."
Yura frowned.
"Feel what?"
Kronos slowly extended his hand.
The air itself seemed to distort.
The battlefield trembled.
Not violently.
But enough.
"Gravity."
The single word made Yura's expression change.
Immediately she felt it.
A crushing force pressed against her entire body.
Her shoulders grew heavy.
Her legs felt burdened.
Even lifting her arms became more difficult.
The pressure increased again.
The frozen earth beneath her feet cracked.
Yura nearly dropped to one knee.
"What... is this..."
Kronos calmly walked forward.
"The weight of existence."
The force intensified.
Yura's breathing became heavier.
Her muscles strained.
Every part of her body fought against the invisible burden crushing her from every direction.
She tried taking a step.
It felt as though mountains were attached to her limbs.
Another step.
Even harder.
Kronos continued approaching.
Unlike Absolute Time Dominion, this wasn't an ultimate ability.
It was simply another tool.
Another method of control.
And yet it felt impossible to overcome.
The pressure kept increasing.
The air itself seemed to resist her movement.
Every attempt to advance pushed her backward.
The sensation reminded her of running against a hurricane.
No matter how hard she fought, something greater kept forcing her away.
Kronos stopped several meters in front of her.
"Do you understand now?"
Yura glared at him.
The effort alone hurt.
"Understand what?"
"The difference."
The pressure intensified once more.
Cracks spread across the battlefield.
The ruined academy groaned beneath the invisible force.
Kronos looked down at her.
"You adapt quickly."
"You move within stopped time."
"You've achieved what should be impossible."
His silver eyes narrowed.
"But impossible does not mean equal."
The words struck harder than the gravity itself.
Yura hated hearing them because a part of her knew they were true.
Right now...
She wasn't equal.
She was surviving.
Nothing more.
Yet even as that thought crossed her mind, another realization emerged.
The pressure still hurt.
The gravity still crushed her.
But compared to when it first appeared...
It felt slightly easier.
Only slightly.
Yet enough for her to notice.
Her body was adapting again.
The same phenomenon that allowed her to move within Absolute Time Dominion was slowly responding to this new challenge.
Kronos noticed immediately.
His expression hardened.
Because he had noticed it too.
Yura forced one foot forward.
The movement was painfully slow.
Every muscle trembled.
Every bone protested.
Yet she moved.
One step.
Then another.
The gravity attempted to force her backward.
She continued forward.
Kronos's eyes narrowed.
The pressure increased again.
The ground shattered beneath Yura's feet.
Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
Still...
She continued walking.
Slow.
Heavy.
Painful.
But forward.
For the first time since activating the gravity field, Kronos remained completely silent.
The impossible was happening again.
Not overcoming.
Not resisting.
Adapting.
Yura raised her head and met his gaze.
The pressure remained overwhelming.
Every step felt like carrying the world itself.
Yet she smiled.
A tired.
Bloody.
Determined smile.
And for the first time since the gravity appeared...
She took another step toward him.
The battlefield fell silent once more.
Not because of Absolute Time Dominion.
But because both of them understood something.
This battle was changing.
Slowly.
Relentlessly.
And neither could predict where it would end.
