The information revealed is actually based on the Spirit Control Master's knowledge of Spirit Beasts combined with results drawn.
Shen Hex doesn't understand the Panwang Gu, nor has he interacted with the Gu Insect System, thus naturally it's challenging to judge if the Panwang Gu is an Emperor Species or a King Species.
But it doesn't matter, what was unknown before can be learned now, it's not too late.
