Evelyn turned around and looked at Eleanor, waiting for her to speak.
"I came to see Caden today, not to seduce him or to fight with you for him. The things that happened in the villa have already made me realize that he really values you." Eleanor's voice was very soft.
Evelyn was taken aback, clearly not expecting Eleanor to say this to her.
"What do you mean?" Evelyn asked, puzzled. "Are you giving up on him?"
"I don't want him!" Eleanor said with a not-so-friendly tone. "Why should I keep chasing after a man who doesn't love me? I'm not... unwanted!"
"That's good then!" Evelyn couldn't help but laugh. "Actually, my husband isn't that great. You just imagine he's especially excellent because you can't have him. If you were really with him, you might have regretted it by now!"
Eleanor was stunned and replied coldly, "Evelyn, you're really asking for it!" Then she couldn't help but burst into laughter.
