Around noon, Zhang Shuai finally received a call from Tian Xin.
The car dashed over in just a few minutes, stopping steadily in front of her.
"Get in!" Zhang Shuai rolled down the window and shouted at her.
The weather was scorching hot, nearing 40 degrees. Tian Xin squatted by the roadside, her hair soaked and sticking to her face. She hung her head, arms hugging her shoulders, seeming to have no strength.
"What about Lin Zhou?" Zhang Shuai got out of the car, looking displeased, "On such a hot day, did he just leave you here?"
Tian Xin shook her head, "No!"
She stood up, opened the passenger door, and quickly sat inside.
Zhang Shuai noticed her unusual expression and returned to the car as well.
But he didn't drive immediately, instead, he glanced towards the residential area to make sure Lin Zhou didn't come out, then asked again, "Where is he?"
Tian Xin didn't answer, just rubbed her face and, without looking at him, said in a low voice, "Let's go!"
"Go back?"
