The New Year atmosphere in the village is quite strong. In addition to paying New Year visits and staying up all night, the village also has community fire shows, dragon and lion dances, opera performances, and the Lantern Festival, which lasts until the fifteenth day of the first month, marking the end.
This year is a good year. As spring begins, the weather is already warming up gradually. Two heavy snowfalls in the winter have brought vitality to the crops in the fields. Once spring arrives and the temperature rises, rapeseed and wheat will grow like crazy.
Little Bay Village has an unwritten custom called: No work in the fields before the second day of the second lunar month.
This means no going out to the fields or laying foundations to build houses.
Therefore, aside from the factory workers and children attending school, most people are at home not going out during the New Year.
