"Just for the shares?" Adrian Shaw asked. Meeting his eyes, she immediately understood what he meant.
"No way." Serena Stanton turned away, rejecting without hesitation. She didn't want his things given to others because of her.
Adrian Shaw looked down at her, his dark eyes sharp and cold: "You're rejecting me because you're worried you won't know how to repay when we break up. You'd rather fake a marriage with someone else than accept my help?"
As if her embarrassing thoughts were exposed, Serena Stanton pressed her lips together: "You said that as long as I marry you, I can do anything."
He said as long as she married him, she could do anything. So the collision of their gazes not long ago made her anxious and uneasy, yet thinking of his words, she quickly regained composure.
Adrian Shaw watched her intently for a few seconds, asking, "Serena, do you really want to marry me?"
