Chapter 75 - Lost

I lay in bed, a small bed. The room was dark, very dark, the walls were a gloomy, boring gray.

Another day, huh? I'm so damn bored… I don't get it. How do others find friends so easily? How do they manage to create connections so easily? It's like… A sixth sense that I didn't get—

My body jolted awake. "Gehhh… The chills…"

These stupid dreams, why won't they just leave me alone already? Why does my body have to repeat the worst ones again and again…

I kicked my blankets off in a fit of energy. "I've got to wake Kea up today!"

I opened the door a crack, peeking inside so as to not disturb him if he'd already woken up. But he wasn't there, the room was empty.

Huh? "Kea!?" I yelled. No answer.

He must have left for an early morning walk.

*Knock knock*

Kea!? I ran to the front door, opening it without hesitation.

The woman that stood there was not Kea, but rather an older woman with a bright smile.

"Hello. We would like to introduce you to someone that you'll be living with."

Huh? But…

The lady revealed a boy the same age as me with brown hair… wait… Kea?

"I hope you can work out the arrangements. Bye." She did a twirl and closed the door behind him.

I looked at Kea, his blank expression clearing the way through the empty room for himself.

Why do I… "Hello Kea…" Why am I…

"Yes, I'm Kea. It's nice to meet you."

He walked to his room, setting the stuff down.

"D-... Nevermind…" Why can't I speak!?

This feeling, it's like…

Memories of my past came flooding back, the feelings of a long forgotten half I had tossed aside.

"Why can't I make friends… No matter how much I want to… Why can't I just confront people!? Why can't I just be me!?" Why am I…

*Snap*

I jolted up, the bed sheets strangling my legs. A few warm, fresh tears burned my eyes. "Was that… just a dream?" Kea is still here, I'm not losing control of myself. This is my real reality!

I wiped my face and made my bed. "Kea is waiting! I'm not going to sleep in again!"
