Chapter 61 - On The Road II

(Ellion's POV)

They hit us in the dead of night, when everything was quiet and pitch black.

I was sitting down in a log outside the encampment when I felt a presence around 100 meters away from the edge of the perimeter. Having used my Observation Haki, I noticed several scurrying intruders that were scouting the place out.

Without warning, a wave of around 10 bandits came from the north side of the camp, attacking the nearest men-at-arms who were on guard. Before they could make it past the perimeter, I had intercepted them, drawing Gloriosa and attacking them.

And that is where we are now.

"Die!" one of the bandits exclaimed as he swung his blade at me

I casually parried it and spun around, cutting through his arm with ease. I heard him wail out in pain, blood spraying everywhere, while I stabbed him through the eye as a follow-up. I kicked him away and pounced on the nearest one, swinging my blade and cutting through his neck in a single swipe.

I then rushed over to the men who were getting closer to the camp, having caught up with them with ease. In a quick manner, I stabbed at the first two that were closest to me, using a bit of Armament Haki to make the job easier.

The others stopped in their tracks, watching as their compatriots thrashed around on the ground, completely in pain. They swung their weapons at me fiercely, only for me to dodge and counter with swift thrusts and slashes. In a matter of seconds, I had cut them down.

"Agghh!!" one of them cried out in pain, "What the hells?!"

He dropped to the ground, clutching his arm, which was cut. Without wasting another second, I swung my sword through the top of his head, cleaving it in two.

I stopped and straightened up, looking over to see that the others had stopped in their tracks. As the camp was thrown into chaos, the soldiers were trying to get into formation to protect the King, who was probably in the middle of the camp.

I raised my blade, using my haki to count around 15 men left. Spreading the observation around the area like a radar, I counted around 10 more men that were incoming, possibly the second wave.

I spat on the ground, "You're not leaving this place alive." I said, "All of you are dying."

They rushed at me, trying to swarm me. I don't know what they thought was going to happen; maybe one of them was going to poke at me with his spear and put me down or maybe one of them would get lucky in their swings, cutting me in the neck and causing me to bleed out.

I mean, it was just one of me, right?

But the truth is that none of that was going to happen. I wasn't an ordinary man in this wretched world; I was something more.

The first one who thrusted his spear at me got his weapon parried hard and the second after that happened, his head was pierced by my blade, killing him instantly. I then swung the blade upwards, spraying blood and brains into the air. As every bit was flying about in the air, I immediately swung my blade in a circle, cutting through the next three.

Their flesh and bone were as soft as butter when brought forth to Gloriosa's edge, standing no chance against the sharpness. No matter how hard they will try to

Blade of Aggression was doing its job.

In a few seconds, I had already cut more than half of this remaining group, their blood pooling on the ground.

There was no torches either on their hands, so they couldn't see properly. The only light came from the King's men who were carrying the torches.

I didn't know if they were stupid or they thought they were able to sneak past the patrolling guards or something. But the truth is they stood no chance without their sense of sight. I was using my Observation Haki mostly to combat them, but my eyesight was superior to theirs regardless.

I corralled the other men into a single point, out in the field next to the camp, cutting through their bodies like nothing. I could feel my blade's edge getting hotter and hotter with every swing, my Aspect doing its work. A single half-assed swing could cleave through a man's belly with how sharp my blade was at the moment.

I blocked the blade of a taller man, who was wearing rusty armor, "Hm...." I said as I heard the clash, a bit of sparks emitting from Gloriosa, "You're a big one, hm?"

He tried pushing me off, giving me a serious glare, "Fuck you!"

In a swift motion, I thrust my blade into his neck, running through him like piercing a pillow. His eyes were widened in pure shock as I swung my blade outwards with ease, blood spraying everywhere.

As his body dropped to the ground, I noticed the remaining men rushing at me, letting out vicious battle cries.

I ran at them, reaching them in no time, and I parried their blades while they swung at me. I positioned myself between them, swiftly spinning around and cutting through their legs, cleaving them right off. As they collapsed into the ground, I pierced their heads with rapid thrusts, killing them instantly.

As they dropped to the ground, their blood pooling the ground, the light of the torches illuminated the piles of bodies.

I looked up to see several men running up to me, their blades drawn.

"Ser Ellion!" one of the men said, "You did this?"

I flicked my blade to the side, blood splattering onto the ground, "Yea." I said, spitting on the ground, "Secure the perimeter. I don't want anyone getting 50 meters within the camp, do you hear me? There could be more. Get me my horse, I will patrol the area. Get these bodies out of here and get men on horses, scour the area in a 10-mile radius, we must protect the King."

The men nodded, "At once!" He said, "You heard him."

I turned around, closing my eyes and activating my Observation Haki, spreading it out at its maximum range. Besides the camp, I didn't sense any other presence, one that belonged to a man.

I still didn't think this was it, there was probably more men somewhere out there.

But it didn't matter, I was going to find them.

And I was going to kill them.
