OLEANDER POV
Screaming was the first thing my brain told me to do. Then run to the wall and hide.
Of course, there was nowhere to hide in the damned room. And screaming would probably not help my situation either.
So, I stayed where I was like an idiot, waiting for the dust to clear and for whoever had just crashed through the door to kill me.
I blinked several times, trying to see through the cloud of dust. I waved a hand in front of my face, pinching my nose with the other.
When the dust finally cleared, my breath caught and eyes widened in shock.
Of all the things I had expected to see, a man-shaped beast was definitely not one of them.
It was enormous.
Its head nearly brushed the ceiling, and its shoulders were so broad they made the doorway look ridiculously small behind it. My gaze travelled from the tangled strands of hair on its head to its face.
I immediately wished I hadn't looked.
