Let the games begin!
The King and his son sat silently, huddled up together for a little bit of warmth. They looked miserable to anyone looking. A sense of accomplishment filled the hearts of the gardenian guards. How could they leave their realm to such a foolish king!
Back at the palace, the Queen walked slowly through the palace hallways wishing she would see him. Maybe this was all just a prank from the start. Her heart beat wildly with unease. tears streamed down her face. This farce she couldn't bare to watch, but what could she do. He son, her nieces and nephews were all locked in some dark room surrounded by lunatics. Now even her husband was gone. It was obviously a trap but he still left. He still walked into the fire without looking back. What was she to him then? Was she never as important in his eyes? He left to die without looking at her even once. He said nothing to her and just left her to her worry.
As her faltering steps found their way to the empty throne room, she wished to relive the moments he sat on his throne with her and their children right beside him.
The throne room wasn't empty though. A figure sat languidly on the throne like it was his to begin with. She recognized that figure. She sat and ate with him every night.
Her steps halted right behind the pillar overlooking the throne room. Her face grew a shade paler as she looked on in secret.
To make matters worse, like a giant meteor falling into a small stream, A man dressed in grey robes and a silver mask on his face appeared from the shadows. He knelt before the throne and spoke words she didn't want to hear.
"Chairman.., The King has been contained!"
her belief and trust flew up into the air and evaporated into nothingness.
The Gardenian chairman; Phillis was her beloved brother-in-law, Alexander Telaviv.
She stood behind the pillar, her hands clamped around his mouth. Tears spilled uncontrollably from her eyes. The anger in her heart was rising beyond a point she could contain but she knew she couldn't let him see her.
She controlled her self and held her breath for a while before she regained the calm of a Queen.
She took out of a hidden pocket in her dress, a green shaped gem and crushed it. The green light sparks spread out in her eyes as she vanished leaving the traitor on the throne.
"Chairman.., should i give chase"
"No...! It's about time i completely took over!"
**********
Raven stood infront a body-length mirror sizing up the scar that refused to disappear on her chest. She could hear the cries and turmoil of the city beyond the gates. It seemed everybody had forgotten her existence. With the King gone, who had to the time to care!
She packed up her waist length raven black hair into a high ponytail and dressed in light armor given to her by Alzar. The Princess had proved worthy so she had to be a good friend.
After dressing up she walked out of the chamber and walked slowly to the Princesses quaters. No one stopped her stride, like they couldn't see her but she could still feel the complexity in the gazes as she passed.
The flames in their world could be said to be her fault but they as trained royal guards knew better. The flames in their world were long overdue. Their heat could no longer be suppressd. The elven world had been in peace for far too long it was becoming a source of worry.
As Raven walked slowly in the silent halls, her ears picked up faint sounds of someone walking in the walls. The sounds were of a single male wondering alone within the secret passage leading to the Princess's quarters.
It sounded wrong no matter how she thought about it. She picked up pace and ran through the hallway leaving afterimages in her wake.
The door of Alzar's chamber was shut tight, she could hear nothing through the soundproof doors.
What choice did she have, the door was smashed open with a kick from her leg.
Alzar's throat was in the hands of the third prince; Alexander Telaviv. She looked weak and helpless in his grasp.
Raven halted in her tracks.
'So this is the traitor...huh!'
She drew the steel sword by her waist and prepared for a bitter fight. She needed to rescue the princess. Calling the guards wasn't an option either. That would only make matters worse for Alzar.
"Well. Well. If it isn't our dearest Surface monster. You should've waited your turn to die. I hadn't forgotten about you!"
"Betraying your own family must feel great..!"
"Quite exhilarating if i do say so myself..!"
Her eyes scanned the Princess who was slowly losing breath in her lungs and gritted her teeth.
She lunged forward thrusting her blade towards Alexanders shoulder making him choose between his hostage and his arm.
He sneered and flung the unconscious princess towards the marble wall of the chamber. Raven flew towards Alzar to intercept the fall. Alexander used this chance to throw a ball of condensed green energy at Raven's side, slamming her into the wall, the princess falling on her.
This was a chance.
He smirked and chanted a spell. An arrow of condensed green energy flew at high speed trying to impale both of them at the same time but Raven raised a blood barrier at the same instance, shielding the both of them from imminent doom.
Alexander was relentless, before the last arrow hit its target, he sent another right at them but Raven was prepared. Using the cover provided by the fragments of the shattering, she pulled Alzar to the side dodging the incoming arrow.
The sound of the commotion already alerted the guards at the entrance of the courtyard. The sounds of the footsteps getting closer with every passing second.
Alexander couldn't waste his time any longer, waving his hands, a black mark on his chest glowed with an ominous light spiking his power level.
A dark blob of dark matter flew at breakneck speed towards the two. Raven didn't have time to react. The blob struck her on the head sending her into a spiral of darkness.
As she shut her eyes, the blob contracted, expanding at an unprecedented speed. It circled around the two and encased them. Walking back into the hidden passage way, the blob followed behind Alexander. The passage ways opening closing behind him.
The guards burst into the room to see the destruction left behind and the two ladies that should've been in the room gone with the wind.
They were too late and they knew not who to blame but the surface monster as everyone called her.
