The night before, Ember did her best to make it impossible for people to hoard food. And today, she decided that the weekend needed to begin. They sent out an announcement that the weekend of festivities would begin. Besides basic clean-up, other things would be handled for them.
The announcement stated that this weekend was about having fun. Music was playing throughout the base. Everyone was laughing and having an having a good time. Ember could see it all from the comfort of her bedroom.
What should have been a joyous day for her was anything but. Why? Despite telling everyone that the base would run out of power, no one was actually trying to keep the base running.
"A base that uses sex as energy has less than half the number of people in the base having sex. Does that make sense to you?" Ember lay on Aiden's chest. He was stroking her hair. He was seeing the same thing she was.
