We walk through the forest and occasionally see monsters running past us, but they are peaceful monsters, so we don't have to be afraid of being attacked. After 3 hours we arrive back in the city, since the way there took 3 hours and a few minutes. I look around one more time and see that the sun is already setting and glowing in red-orange light. On the horizon everything is covered in that color. I look forward again.
We walk through the side alley through which we also left the city. We arrive on the now rather empty street, but there are still some people to be seen. We go to the guild, which is now brightly lit. We look at it and it looks as if there is no gap without light. We go inside and it is also quite well lit there.
The man at the guild reception is no longer there, instead there is a young lady in a beautiful dress and with a braid in her blue hair. The receptionist smiles gently as we approach. She looks at me and sees the quest in my hand and does not see the corpses, assuming we came to close the quest.
"Oh, they didn't make it, the poor ones must be weak," the receptionist thinks and then looks at us with pity, while a black hole appears directly above the table, the dimensional hole where I store everything I need. Then the falling rabbit corpses land on the table and all 20 lie neatly in a pile. The lady at the reception opens her eyes wide and stares at the dimensional hole.
"So, is that enough?" I ask with a relaxed face.
The lady now looks at me with her eyes wide open and starts counting the rabbits out of the corner of her eye. While I stand there with my hands in the pockets of my cloak, since there is hardly anyone left in the guild, only three adventurers look at me as if they have seen a ghost. Some of them even lose color in their faces and act as if this isn't normal. And well, technically it isn't normal, but also not that extreme. Because of that I look back at the receptionist, who is just finishing counting.
"20," she says quietly so that no one can clearly hear it, and then nods.
"Yes, that's enough. Here are the 16,000 ¥ as a reward," she says with a nod and places the 16,000 ¥ silver coins on the table.
She takes the rabbit corpses away and outside the sun has already set. "I must not kill more people in order to ensure the safety of the girls," I think as I clench my fists, take the silver coins, and put them into a pouch that I take out of my cloak pocket. I look at the girls, who are already getting ready to leave.
"Wait, I need to renew your rank," the receptionist says hastily.
I turn back to the lady, who holds her hand out toward us because she wants to renew the guild cards and will probably move us to E-rank. Since we accepted an E-rank quest while on our rank, we get double the guild points. I hand over my card first and the receptionist places it on an update stone that can update the card.
I watch as a letter "F" manifests itself directly above the card and shatters like glass into various purple shards, then reforms into an "E." Then the letter disappears back into the guild card and I receive it again. I look at it closely and see that mana flows through it and that is how the letter is displayed. You need something like this when you go to other guilds.
Mori gives her guild card to the lady and the same thing happens, and of course the same for Lui and Sür. After that the receptionist nods and smiles gently in farewell. In contrast to the man this morning, she is kind and warm, but the man was grim and cold.
We go to the exit of the guild and leave it. The streets have become even emptier and the light shines brightly. By now it has even started to rain, which shimmers beautifully in the city lights and patters onto the ground. A sight appears that can only be seen in the Land of the Future, because nowhere is there such beautiful light as here.
I create a water sphere around us and the rain simply bounces off. The wet streets shine more vividly than when sunlight hits them. I look around and everything is glowing. After a few minutes we arrive at the house and go inside.
All the lights in the house turn on the moment I open the door, and as soon as no presence is detected anymore, the lights turn off. Since I have minimized my presence, it can't be because of me, as it is so low that one can hardly notice me as a mage. Only my physical strength could be noticed, but since I'm not very muscular, not even that. That means a very relaxed life, but I could become a victim of thieves, which of course wouldn't be a problem for me.
I hang my cloak on the coat rack and put my dagger away. The light illuminates the entire house and the girls stretch, since the day was quite exhausting. Mori goes into the kitchen and gets four rolls, which she warms with fire magic. I take a roll and bite into it with a big bite. I finish the roll and then go upstairs so I can bathe.
I arrive upstairs on the first floor and then go into the door that says bathroom. I undress and then step into the water. After a few minutes I come out of the bathroom and am just about to go down the stairs. Then I see on the wall opposite the stairs how the three girls are leaning against each other on the black-red couch, sleeping. I smile gently and then decide to go to sleep as well.
"This world could always stay like this," I think and go into the room where I wrote "Bedroom Cro" on the door using magic. I go inside and walk to the window and look outside. The moonlight shines through the window, a beautiful sight. I open the window, letting in a pleasant and warm breeze, the rain has just stopped.
I start glowing blue and fly out of the window and look over the city, where the moonlight shimmers on it while there is still slight dampness. I look around and see only the beauty of the world. No one walks through the streets anymore and no loud conversations can be heard. I smile and fly back, landing again on the floor of my bedroom, and close the window.
I look at my bed and stretch. Before going to sleep, I put on black sleepwear and put away my other black everyday clothes and clean them with a cleansing spell that works with wind-water-fire combination magic. But since trial magic, as magic using three elements at the same time is called, is very difficult, hardly anyone can do something like that, but I can also use four elements at once.
I finish up and then go to bed while the light stone in the lamp above slowly fades out, because when sleeping one only emits little presence. I close my eyes and slowly fall asleep peacefully.
The next morning it is like always. I wake up, get dressed, and go downstairs. We eat something and then go outside, but before we go to the guild:
"Hey, go on ahead," I say.
The girls go ahead while I go to the 24/7 store, which is just opening. A man is opening the door, and since today there is a pleasant warmth, he leaves the door open and stands at the register. Meanwhile, the woman from the day before yesterday is walking through the shelves and has an endless materials bag, with which you can put in infinitely much and infinitely large items.
She walks through the shelves and then arrives at the last two and places a few swords there, and now exactly three swords are hanging there. I look at them and recognize that they are made by a good blacksmith and would be perfect for the girls. Then maybe I can also teach them things in swordsmanship. After all, I have the feeling that with a lot of training they will become stronger than me, or the strongest after me. They are really strong.
I take the three swords and go to the other side of the shelf where the noodles are, but this time soup noodles that are supposed to be in broth. I quickly grab the noodles four times and then go to the register and look at the man scanning the items. On the screen the number 120,000 ¥ is displayed.
I take out this money and count it once more beforehand. It comes out to exactly 120,000 ¥. I put the money down and the man at the register counts it again and then hands me the items. My dimensional hole appears in front of me and I put the swords in first and then the soup noodles.
But before that I add hot water to the bowls. Since time is stopped, I wait briefly, about 10 minutes, until the soup powder is perfectly dissolved and the noodles are nicely soft but not too soft. Then I put them into the dimensional hole and it closes.
The cashier stares at me with wide eyes while I stood there for 10 minutes waiting before leaving. He keeps looking after me as I leave the store and walk in the direction of the guild, where the three girls are already waiting.
