I woke up to someone shaking me violently,my eyes snapped open,it was Mariam.
"What?." I asked with sleepy eyes
"I would soon be late for work I need you to help me pick out a dress and maybe make a quick breakfast." I sat up rubbing my eyes
"What would you do if I wasn't here?." I asked getting out of bed
"Oh come on what are best friends for, help me pls." She said rushing into the bathroom . I turn to the closet at one end and sought to pick out a dress for her before heading to the kitchen to make breakfast .
Mariam rushes out of the room moments later clutching her purse in one hand and her heels in the other.
"Breakfast is ready."I announce
"Whatever would I do without you." She says as she sits to have breakfast, when she was half way through she said
"Okay so i took the afternoon off so we can work on that."
"What?,me?."
"Yeah you, you're gonna need to go to the salon to get your hair changed and stuff like that."
"what's wrong with my hair?."
"It has Micheal written all over it and we're done with that, right?."
"Of course."
"I better get going,see you after work, I'll text you what I want for lunch"
"Whatever." I say as she races through the door .
The day starts off with me cleaning up the condo because Mariam is a little messy. just as i round off cleaning and sat down to have lunch my phone rings non stop,i was really exhausted I wanted to ignore it but when I checked it was Khloe. I picked up the phone.
"Hey girl!." She screamed into the phone.
"Hey."
"What happened you don't sound okay."
"I'm just really exhausted, I spent the last four hours cleaning up this place."
" Mariam never changes does she?"
"Nope."
"So tell me what's been going on?."
"Khloe, I got here yesterday, I haven't even been out,but I promise you if anything happens I'll make sure to tell you."
"Okay."
"How are josh and Alya and well everyone?"
"They're cool,dad took Josh and Tyler for a boys out sort of thing, we're just hanging out with mom making us cookies."
"Is that your sister?." Mom's voice echoed from the background
" You should go before Mom smothers you with one of her Mom talks."I laugh
" Just tell her I love her and I'll call when I can."
" Kk,bye sis."
" Bye."I say as I hung up .
That afternoon, when Mariam was already back , I was clearing up the plates from lunch when I heard the doorbell ring.
" I'll get it." I say as I head to the door and open it a black guy stood there.
" Hey,is Mariam home?." He asks
'probably one of Mariam's friends.' I thought.
" Yeah she's inside ."
" You must be Jess."i smile
" Yh I am and you?."
"Kyle ."he smiles as he shakes me,then puts his hands in his pocket " can I come in?."
" Yeah sure."I say as I step aside for him to enter, I close the door then yell.
" Mariam, there's someone here to see you."
" I'll be right there."she screams back then comes out moments later wearing a peach gown and black jacket with black strap sandals and a black purse
"Where are you going?." I ask
"Kyle and I are going to the movies ."
"What but you told me you were going to take me to do my hair."
"I'm so sorry Jess." She begins as she holds onto Kyle's arm "you can still go I'll send you the location, pls dont be mad." She says as she walks out "I love you." She yells as she closes the door. I sigh as i stare at the closed door.
