"Hmph. Then just wait. The future you foresee will absolutely not come true. I will never abandon my treasure."
The Supreme Will let out a cold snort, its pride evident in its tone.
Xiao remained calm, though inwardly he couldn't help but sneer. Father of the High Elves? God of the Erdtree? As expected, elves are easy to provoke. Still, he didn't show it. Instead, he continued steadily, "Then, Golden Tree, would you be willing to make a bet?"
"A bet? On what?" the Supreme Will asked.
"On the ownership of the Lands Between."
Xiao's gaze locked onto the illusory projection within the Cyber Dimension, his confidence unmistakable.
The Supreme Will immediately rejected the idea. "You wish? If I win, nothing changes. If you win, I lose an entire world. Do you take me for a fool?"
Xiao had expected this response. Without sufficient stakes, there was no way an existence like this would agree. After a brief pause, he spoke again, his tone more serious. "If I fail, I will help you eradicate the corruption buried beneath the Lands Between and restore it to its former glory."
This time, the Supreme Will did not respond immediately.
The corruption beneath the Lands Between had always been a lingering problem. If it could be resolved, the world would undoubtedly become more complete. But hesitation remained. Even it did not believe Xiao could accomplish such a thing.
"Are you certain?" the Supreme Will finally said. "That is not ordinary corruption. Even I cannot destroy it. I can only suppress it beneath the roots of the Erdtree."
Xiao's expression stiffened slightly.
He had originally thought he understood those so-called outer gods. In the narrative he knew, they had been suppressed without much difficulty. But now it was clear that things were far more complicated. If even the Supreme Will could not eliminate them, then their true nature was far beyond what he had assumed.
Even so, he could not retreat.
Whether the Supreme Will abandoned the Lands Between or not, those beings would have to be dealt with. Otherwise, even if he gained control of the world, it would remain unstable.
He quickly considered his own advantages. The Dimension Farm's devouring ability might offer a solution—if those entities could be suppressed, perhaps they could be broken down and turned into resources. But recalling its limitations, his confidence wavered slightly. Still, there was no turning back now.
"Everyone has their own methods," Xiao said, forcing his tone to remain steady. "I simply handle this kind of problem better than most."
The Supreme Will gave a faint, almost amused response. "I hope you don't come begging me for help."
Xiao didn't back down. "So? Do we have a bet or not?"
His attitude was firm, neither submissive nor arrogant. Since the Supreme Will could not locate his true body, he still had room to maneuver. Even if the Cyber Dimension were destroyed, it would only cost him time to recover. Showing weakness here would only invite contempt.
After a brief silence, the Supreme Will finally spoke.
"Very well. I accept your bet. I will even allow you to send your pawns into the Lands Between."
Its tone was calm but filled with confidence. It had absolute faith in its system, in the Two Fingers, and in the order it governed. In its eyes, no external force could truly threaten its control.
Xiao smiled faintly. "I look forward to it."
With that, he cut off the connection.
After the communication ended, Xiao's expression gradually relaxed, and a hint of excitement surfaced in his eyes. No matter the outcome, this exchange had already benefited him. If he won, he would gain an entire world. If he lost, he would simply carry out something he would likely need to do anyway. Either way, he did not lose.
More importantly, this conversation confirmed something crucial.
The Supreme Will was not the entirety of the elven system. At most, it was the primary deity of the High Elves. But elves were never a single unified race. Variants such as Night Elves, Blood Elves, and Wood Elves existed across countless worlds, and even within the same lineage, differences in belief could create entirely separate branches.
If that was the case, then behind the Erdtree there must exist a far greater structure—a pantheon.
And if elves possessed such a structure, then other races must have their own gods as well. Across the countless worlds, even abstract concepts could evolve into divine existences. If the gods of Western myth were real, then it was only natural that Eastern immortals, Buddhas, and demons would also exist.
Thinking of this, Xiao felt a surge of anticipation.
Until now, despite his strength, he had only dominated lower worlds. He had never truly stepped into the domain of higher-order deities, nor did he have access to that level of existence.
But this bet had changed that.
Through the Supreme Will, he now had a chance to glimpse a higher realm—to understand its rules and uncover its secrets.
For Xiao, this was not just an opportunity.
It was the beginning of a new path.
