Seeing that her sister clearly didn't wish to talk about it, Mu Ning chose not to press the issue.
................
After dinner, Mu Ning headed toward Gwen and Warren's bedroom. As soon as she entered, she noticed Rui Fan carrying his blanket.
The little boy froze. His eyes widened in surprise before he immediately turned around, clearly intending to escape.
"Where are you going, Little Fan?" Mu Ning called with a smile.
Rui Fan instantly puffed out his cheeks.
"Stop calling me Little Fan!" he protested. "I'm not some kind of fan!"
Mu Ning couldn't help laughing. "I call you that because I like you."
She tilted her head thoughtfully. "But if you don't like it, how about Little Rui instead?"
Rui Fan's cheeks turned red. "You're teasing me."
"Of course I am." Still smiling, Mu Ning crouched down until they were at eye level.
She gently tapped the tip of his nose.
"Why are you always trying to act so mature?" she asked softly. "You're still a child. So act like one."
