After finishing my meal, I said to Grigor Thomas, "I've got something urgent to handle, so I don't have time to mess around with you right now. You're a grown man—sort yourself out."
Grigor Thomas nodded, not fussing about it.
Then I was about to head to work, but Walter Mitchell caught up with me and called out, "Tobby."
I stopped, turned my head to look at him, "Something up, senior?"
"The 36th Army's individual and team drill competition is coming up in a month. Interested in going? I can introduce you to District 13," Walter said.
I grinned.
Walter nodded, afraid I wouldn't believe he'd been a big shot, so he said, "Go ask around in District 13—I used to be the boss there."
I grinned wide. This guy still cared too much about his image. I said, "I appreciate the offer, Senior. I'll be competing in the 36th Army competition myself. As soon as I close out the Westgate case, I'm quitting and heading back to my unit. Oh, forgot to mention—I'm from the 5th Military Region."
