Chapter 340 - CP9’s Operation

On White Ghost's side, after hanging up the Den Den Mushi, he walked out of the reception room.

From the corner of his eye, he glanced toward the darkness nearby, but he said nothing and left directly.

Only after he entered the dining room did figures move in the darkness.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

Several figures wrapped completely in black cloaks appeared, masks covering their faces.

The enemy this time was extremely troublesome. One careless mistake could cost them their lives, so they had to be careful, then careful again.

When the figures gathered in front of Spandam, they removed their masks.

Spandam looked at the CP9 members before him and nodded in satisfaction.

This time, for the sake of his promotion, he had brought out everything he had. He was betting it all on this chance.

"Listen carefully. The moment there is an opportunity, act immediately. Once you capture the target, escape at once. Do not hesitate.

"If anything goes wrong, the World Government will not acknowledge this operation."

Spandam had swapped the concept.

This was clearly his private action, but he quietly turned it into a World Government mission. Only he himself knew the truth.

That way, even if the matter was exposed, he could cut ties with it, abandon these people, and protect himself.

All actions were their own private decisions and had nothing to do with him.

When the time came, he would have his father embellish the matter a little. Even if these people had mouths, they would not be able to explain themselves.

Spandam mentally praised himself for coming up with such a clever method.

If it succeeded, he would share the credit.

If it failed, this group would take the blame.

"Chapapapa. Looking at the commander's sleazy face, he must be fantasizing about something."

A round-bodied, round-headed man with a face that did look somewhat like an owl could not help speaking up.

His legs were short and thin, his hair was pale green, he had a beard on his chin, and a zipper across his mouth.

Spandam's beautiful fantasy was interrupted by that sudden voice. He turned and cursed,

"Shut up, Fukurou! Zip your mouth closed!"

"Chapapapa. Looks like I was right. The commander is angry."

Fukurou covered his mouth and laughed.

Jabra immediately pulled the zipper across Fukurou's mouth shut, because Spandam's expression was growing uglier and uglier.

Although they looked down on this useless man who had relied on connections to rise, he was still their superior. Respect still had to be shown on the surface.

Fukurou also did not dare struggle too much.

If they were noticed over there, things would become troublesome.

Spandam was too lazy to waste more words with them and waved his hand.

"Go carry out the mission. Remember, as soon as there's a chance, strike."

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

The seven vanished into the darkness, silently approaching White Ghost's ship.

When they reached a place not far from the ship, just outside the lamplight, they hid and waited.

Then they looked up and saw their target walking onto the deck alone with a book, sitting there and reading.

Their faces darkened.

Even an idiot could tell this was a trap.

They had been exposed.

Just as they were preparing to retreat, Spandam also saw Nico Robin sitting there quietly and reading alone.

He was immediately overjoyed. He took out a small red light and blinked it toward them several times.

The CP agents cursed inwardly.

Did that idiot not know they had been exposed?

"Carry out the mission."

Lucci's emotionless voice sounded from behind his mask.

The others were helpless.

They were CP agents. Obeying their superior's orders was their duty. They had been taught this before they even graduated.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

The group swiftly approached their target, intending to seize her in one strike and leave without staying a moment longer.

Robin seemed not to notice the dark figures approaching and continued reading calmly.

Even when the group surrounded her completely, she showed no panic.

Seeing this scene, Spandam's face filled with joy.

"It worked. I'm about to get promoted and make a fortune."

Robin spoke lightly.

"Captain, they really are as stupid as you said."

"Hm?"

The group froze and turned to see White Ghost leaning against the doorway alone, smoking.

White Ghost slowly exhaled a smoke ring.

"It isn't that they're stupid. It's that they have a stupid commander."

Creak.

Jango, Burgess, and the other strong men walked out and surrounded them.

Jango folded his arms.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. How long has it been? How long has it been since someone dared casually step onto our ship?"

White Ghost spoke calmly.

"Don't break the ship."

Whoosh.

CP9 immediately scattered in different directions.

At this point, if even one of them could escape, that was a win. Otherwise, they would all die here.

Bang!

A gunshot rang out.

The horned CP agent collapsed directly to the ground.

Van Augur expressionlessly put away his gun.

The captain had said to take that one down first.

Pedro looked at one of the black-cloaked figures and sniffed.

"I seem to smell a familiar scent."

After saying that, Pedro pointed at the one with the weaker aura.

"Bepo, that one is yours. Don't disgrace the Mink Tribe."

"I understand, Brother Pedro."

Bepo answered and stepped onto Geppo, chasing after the long-haired figure.

Lucci used Geppo and Shave to move rapidly, calculating in his heart how likely he was to escape this time.

Whoosh.

Pedro's figure appeared in front of him, forcing him to stop.

Pedro held a cigarette in his mouth.

"You aren't a Mink, but I smell something familiar on you."

Lucci said nothing. He extended a finger toward him.

"Flying Finger Pistol."

Whoosh.

A bullet of compressed air shot forward.

Pedro did not even look at it, allowing the air bullet to strike his body.

Clang.

The bullet hit him with the sound of metal colliding.

Lucci looked at him.

"Iron Body?"

Pedro spat out his cigarette.

"Iron Body? Does such a soft attack need Iron Body?"

Lucci said nothing.

His body expanded.

Rip.

Lucci's black cloak was torn apart, and the mask on his face fell away.

Pedro looked at the black great cat before him.

"Zoan, Cat-Cat Fruit, Model: Leopard?"

Lucci, now in leopard form, looked at him.

"Let me see how strong someone with a bounty of five hundred million berries really is."

"Shave."

The leopard rapidly approached Pedro.

Seeing that Pedro did not move, anger appeared in Lucci's eyes.

"Finger Pistol: Yellow Lotus."

Clang, clang, clang, clang.

Every time Lucci struck Pedro, the same metallic sound rang out.

"No effect? Iron Body shouldn't be that strong."

Lucci withdrew his hand, clenched his fist, and punched toward Pedro's face.

"Iron Body Fist."

Bang!

Pedro stood there without moving.

"What?"

Lucci was shocked and was just about to pull his fist back when a large hand grabbed his arm.

Lucci tried hard to pull away, but how could his strength compare to Pedro's?

Pedro clenched his other hand into a fist.

"Let me teach you how to use a fist."

"Iron Body."

Lucci raised one hand in front of his chest to defend.

Bang!

Pedro punched him in the stomach.

"Gah!"

Lucci spat blood, his eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness.

Pedro clicked his tongue.

"The captain was right. You have to learn to hit flexibly for punches to be useful. Don't always hit where people are guarding."
