The sudden appearance of Kurama caused a stir in the village, but the commotion quickly died down. The reason was simple: Drake's overwhelming power. He had subdued the Nine-Tails in an instant.
At the Bathhouse
Inside the Happy Bathhouse, Drake helped Kushina Uzumaki sit down.
"Drake… you extracted the Nine-Tails, and Kushina is still alive?" Tsunade asked, stunned.
As someone familiar with jinchūriki, Tsunade knew one iron rule: when a tailed beast is extracted, the host dies. But here Kushina was, alive and well.
"You're underestimating me," Drake said flatly before turning to Kushina. "How do you feel?"
"Hungry," Kushina replied, rubbing her stomach.
"I'll go cook," Konan said, rushing toward the kitchen.
"Kushina, you don't feel anything else?" Tsunade examined her carefully.
"Not really. Just weak… and hungry."
"This is unbelievable… Drake, how did you do it?" Tsunade pressed.
"Yang Release chakra. It's not that special."
"Yang Release?"
Tsunade frowned. "Healing, sure… but reviving someone? That shouldn't be possible."
"Who told you Yang Release can't restore life?" Drake replied calmly. "I'm proof."
Tsunade glanced at the diamond mark on her forehead.
"My seal just stimulates cell division. That's different."
"You understand more than most," Drake said. Then, seeing both women watching him intently, he explained:
"Yang Release represents vitality. As long as the soul remains, my chakra can replenish life force and keep the body alive."
Tsunade fell into thought.
"So that's how you kept me alive…" Kushina murmured.
"Exactly."
"But if that's the case, mastering Yang Release means immortality, right?" Tsunade asked eagerly.
"No." Drake shook his head. "Yang Release is a foundation, not a guarantee."
He explained further:
"Yang Release is life energy. But life force alone doesn't grant infinite lifespan."
"So if an old man's lifespan is up, Yang Release won't extend it?" Kushina asked.
"Correct."
Tsunade quickly seized on the remaining detail. "You said Yang Release is only the foundation… what else is required?"
Drake paused.
"Planetary energy."
"Planetary energy?" Kushina blinked. "What is that?"
Tsunade leaned forward, curious.
"It's a higher form of energy than natural energy," Drake said. "It's the condensed essence of the entire world."
They still looked confused.
He explained more plainly:
"Humans, animals, plants, soil, air… all of it combined and refined becomes planetary energy."
Tsunade's eyes widened. "That's… basically consuming everything?"
Drake nodded slightly.
"A thousand years ago, someone did it."
"Who?" Tsunade asked immediately.
"Kaguya Ōtsutsuki."
Drake continued:
"She planted a massive tree that absorbed energy from the entire world and refined it into a fruit."
"That actually sounds feasible…" Kushina murmured.
"If the tree was big enough, it could absorb all forms of matter… even corpses," Tsunade said, shivering.
"But where is this person now? Why is there no record of her?"
"She was sealed away by her two sons."
The two women exchanged a look. That made sense—someone who devoured the world for power would inevitably be opposed.
Closing
"Alright, lesson over. I'm going to sleep."
Drake stood and yawned. As he walked past Tsunade, he gave her a subtle look.
Her face reddened slightly—she understood exactly what he meant.
