Elara stared at the beast. "Drop the footwear."
The Frost-Stalker's ears instantly flattened against its skull. It froze, its massive jaws clamped around the ruined slipper. It looked at Elara, then slowly, begrudgingly opened its mouth, letting the saliva-soaked velvet fall to the rug. It let out a pathetic, high-pitched whine that sounded completely absurd coming from a creature that could bite a horse in half.
Julian burst out laughing, burying his face in his hands. "My father sent us a siege weapon, and you've turned it into a guilty puppy in less than twelve hours."
"It requires strict behavioral parameters," Elara noted, sitting up and pulling the silk sheet over her chest. "I will have the engineering division construct a reinforced titanium chewing apparatus for it. Velvet is highly inefficient for its dental structure."
