The moment Eli turned his back, F3's expression changed completely.
He watched Eli's retreating figure, the pleasant innocence disappearing from his face until only something cold and unfathomable remained beneath his sharply defined features. After a moment, he let out a quiet, cryptic laugh.
His voice remained as gentle as before, but the words that followed were anything but reassuring.
"Poor thing. Ulysses must have frightened him terribly."
Adrian's expression turned gloomy. He moved away from F3 with undisguised disgust, as though merely standing beside the man left him feeling contaminated.
"Shut up."
F3 scoffed. "It's none of your business. Besides, I think he liked me. He was completely mesmerized just now."
Adrian's face grew even darker, but F3 was not particularly concerned.
