"Well," Seraphina muttered, peeking out from beneath a piece of cover, wiping a speck of grey ash from her shoulder. "If any supermarkets were still open, umbrella sales would be through the roof right now. This is profoundly gross."
High above the falling debris, a single, tiny speck was plummeting toward the ocean.
Alvian was in freefall. The pocket dimension had collapsed the moment the Leviathan died, spitting him back out into the Earth's atmosphere. He was dropping at terminal velocity, but he couldn't summon the [Vestments of the Void Monarch] to slow his descent. He couldn't cast [Void Step].
His body was completely overloaded. He had literally eaten a star. His mana channels were bloated, buzzing with so much raw data that his System interface was temporarily locked out while it updated his biology. He was glowing like a cracked glowstick, trailing a wake of purple static.
"Gravity," Alvian slurred, the wind whipping past his ears, deafening him. "Highly... inefficient."
