Chapter 266 - Chapter 266: The Night Before Separation

Hearing his final question, Anko's expression improved considerably.

She smiled and asked, "Which Erza are you referring to?"

Ankh curled his lips and said, "I'd like to ask about both."

"For example, Erza Knightwalker was clearly baptized by Life God Power. I assume that was your doing—what was your purpose?"

"And another example... why does my sister Erza also possess impure Life Divine Power, even allowing her to use Unisonraid with me?"

Anko chuckled and first answered Ankh's initial question. "When I was worshipped in Edolas, I did use Life God Power to significantly enhance Erza's physique. It was simply because I genuinely liked that child—I had no ulterior motives."

"As for the other Erza..."

Anko looked at Ankh with a teasing smile and said, "After learning about the God Inheritors, you should have already figured it out, right?"

Ankh nodded silently but added, "I'm not entirely certain."

Previously, because the faint Life God Power within Erza could resonate with him, Seram had been constantly puzzled.

As for the speculation about bloodline inheritance, it was actually quite unlikely.

If it were truly bloodline inheritance, Erza's Divine Power wouldn't be so minimal.

So they could only speculate that someone in Erza's ancestry had received the direct blessing of the God Ankhseram.

Later, after learning about Divine Successors from Igneel, Ankh felt like a new path had opened up.

"You guessed correctly." Anko restrained her smile and said seriously, "Erza is a descendant of a Divine Successor. Since the Life God Power inherited by the Divine Successor itself wasn't pure, it became even more diluted through heredity."

"Hiss—" Ankh felt a headache coming on.

Scratching his head, he asked, "What was that Divine Successor's name?"

This time, Anko didn't answer immediately.

She hesitated for a long time before softly saying.

"Irene. Irene Belserion. Erza's biological mother. You can look into it yourself."

Ankh fell silent, deeply imprinting this name in his mind.

Acnologia inherited the Death God Power, and this Irene inherited the Life God Power.

His previous self really knew how to create interesting situations...

Although inherited Divine Power was far less troublesome than original Divine Power, Ankh felt that since the Black Dragon—a Divine Successor corresponding to the other Divine Power—was so strong, this Irene was probably also a terrifyingly powerful monster.

And also... Anko was strange too.

Her true identity, purpose, and position remained unclear. S

he just stayed holed up in the Edolas statue, completely shrouded in mystery...

"It seems... I cannot ask any more questions," Ankh said, watching Anko's calm unreadable expression.

"You have already asked enough."

Anko shook her head and waved her hand forward.

Spatial ripples once again appeared around Ankh.

Feeling the irresistible teleportation force again, Ankh nodded helplessly. "Alright, I'll find you again later."

"I'm leaving. Take good care of Mystogan for me! Thanks!"

As his voice faded, the golden flower field sent away this rude, uninvited guest.

Anko felt speechless, rolling her eyes as she muttered to herself:

"Same old habits. Only remembering me when there is trouble..."

Back in the empty chamber, before Knightwalker's astonished eyes, Ankh suddenly appeared right in front of her.

"H-how can you speak so casually with the Goddess?!"

Knightwalker looked incredulously between Ankh and the compassionate, beautiful Goddess statue, suddenly exclaim in surprise.

"Now that I think about it, you look quite similar to the Goddess too!"

Ankh didn't respond.

He just chuckled lightly and reached out to playfully ruffle her hair before quickly walking out of the room.

Knightwalker's face flushed bright red.

She stood staring blankly with her disheveled hair as Ankh casually left the place.

"What a strange feeling..."

...

Meanwhile, Ankh returned to the banquet hall and conveyed Goddess Anko's message to Mystogan.

When he learned that they could still meet at least once every year without worrying about Magic Power theft incidents, Mystogan's expression visibly brightened.

Makarov and Laxus were naturally even more delighted, and soon everyone in the hall was cheering joyfully.

The banquet atmosphere grew even more lively, with several heavy drinkers starting to challenge each other to drinking contests.

This time, even the usually reserved Mystogan drank wildly, celebrating through the night with everyone.

Finally... after inevitably devolving into a large-scale brawl, everyone passed out drunk, sleeping crookedly in various corners.

Laxus had his arm hooked around the completely drunk Mystogan's neck, snoring loudly, while Freed thoughtfully covered them with a blanket.

Edolas Cana and Earthland Cana were competing for Gildarts's affection, but both ended up exhausted and fell asleep, leaving Gildarts bruised and lying on the ground.

Earthland Levy seemed stimulated by Edolas Levy and drank a bit too much.

Unbeknownst to anyone, she curled up in Earthland Gajeel's arms and fell asleep.

Feeling extremely uncomfortable, Gajeel's eyes widened like copper bells, not daring to relax in the slightest.

The atmosphere between Edolas Levy and Edolas Gajeel nearby seemed a bit off too...

Then there were the two pairs of Gray and Juvia, each with completely different styles.

Edolas Gray lay happily on the ground, while Edolas Juvia slept right on top of his thick clothes.

The half-naked Earthland Gray remained in a posture of pushing his Juvia away, both of them lying awkwardly on the ground in a deep slumber.

The two Mirajanes held Lisanna, who was doted on like a little princess, both smiling as they drifted into dreamland.

Earthland Elfman, lying beside them, muttered in his sleep, lecturing the cowardly Edolas Elfman to be braver.

Seeing this, Ankh pulled out a blanket and gently draped it over the two Mirajanes.

"Everyone seems to have overdone it a bit."

The only somewhat sober one, Erza, sat beside Ankh, leaning against his shoulder and murmuring with a tipsy tone.

"If you are tired, just sleep. Don't force yourself to stay awake."

Ankh's constitution made it difficult for him to get truly drunk.

He found it amusing as he urged Erza, who was stubbornly refusing to sleep.

No sooner had he spoken than Ankh heard the soft sound of Erza snoring peacefully against his shoulder.

Lucy's eyes were weary, but her expression was exceptionally warm.

Sitting opposite Ankh and Erza, she spoke softly, "Erza is tired too."

Ankh nodded and smiled. "I didn't expect you to have such a good alcohol tolerance, Lucy. Everyone else is exhausted, but you are still awake."

"Hehe, I didn't drink much..." Lucy scratched her head.

Since childhood, she had received training as a noble young lady.

Although Lucy herself didn't like it, she instinctively knew how to control her drinking.

If she ever got truly drunk, it would mean she was so happy she couldn't help herself.

"Natsu too, sleeping so soundly." Ankh glanced at Lucy, then shifted his gaze downward.

Natsu was using Earthland Lucy's lap as a pillow.

Lucy said somewhat sheepishly, "It's just because Natsu came looking for a pillow and ended up here..."

"But, speaking of which, where is the me of this world?"

A strange smile suddenly appeared on Ankh's face as he said vaguely.

"I don't know. Earlier, she seemed to have had a bit too much to drink and then dragged the timid Natsu toward the bedchambers."

Lucy (face rapidly heating up): (????ω????)???

Ankh: What are they going to do? So hard to guess (?ω?)...
