Gianna woke with a smile softening her face.
The heavy amber curtains of her bedroom filtered the early morning sun, casting a warm, honeyed glow across the dark wood furniture, across her smiling face and twinkling eyes, reflecting the eagerness in them.
It was finally the weekend.
For the first time in months, the realization didn't bring a mental tally of corporate battles or pending designs. Today was different. Today, the medical team was finally allowing her to visit her mother since her admission into the private wing.
Gianna happily threw the silk bedcover aside, swinging her legs off the mattress. Standing up, she let out a light laugh and hurried toward the bathroom. It was already seven o'clock.
She had slept in much later than usual, but her mind had needed the rest. Last night had been spent staying up late, unwinding and gisting with her friends.
