"Good. Kasaru should be able to help now and if the other guy gets down here we'll be able to face them heads on that's for sure… then we can get Cynil and return to our borders."
"What are we even fighting for here? I feel like I'm missing a lot of context."
Kasaru stuck behind Tengoku as they moved, making sure to keep his guard up as he quickly studied their surroundings.
"Cynil was captured during the attack on the volleyball game. We're trying to rescue her right now..not the easiest task in the world but at least you're here to help I suppose."
Yuki got closer to the end of the hallway and skidded to a stop and readied her gun, preparing it to shoot when she sees another monster, or possibly Nadeko.
Something leaked from behind the door. The physical manifestation of mana was taking on a form, slowly crawling from the creases in the building. Tengoku looked on toward the door, an ambiguous silence had frl upon them.
"That's the energy!"
Kasaru quickly stopped Tengoku from proceeding, grabbing his shoulder.
"Hang on, might be wise if I... you know, cast a mana resonance. We linked before, so I might just be able too..."
Kasaru grabbed Yuki and Tengoku's shoulders too. Kasaru closed his eyes as black feathers covered his body, creeping up his arms and stopping just shy of his neck before disappearing, the pair felt that the trios mana had been linked and became a larger pool, he sighed out and stretched.
"Fuck i'm sore... we should be good now."
"So how does it work? We get some kind of buff or boost in power now?..or is it deeper than that?"
"We have a larger pool of power to siphon from. It's not multiplicative though, or a times three of our power. It does however get larger with more people, we'll have more room for if someone goes too low for their mana."
"That's fine with me but I didn't think we would need it, the power however is crazy…"
Yuki touched the door with her palm, not frightened from the energy but only determined to find her sister and bring her back safely.
"We might only need us three to get through this too and if Cynil is able to she could assist us."
"I'll say it now but the energy inside of there is greater than us three combined…we'll see though. Who knows. We may beat the odds."
Yuki nodded before morphing her pistols into her rail gun and blowing the door wide open.
Smoke filled the room as a figure could be made out from it's shadow. However, she was not standing. She was sitting under another shadow. Passively on the ground. Her red eyes beamed through the smoke, and her mana surged as the smoke cleared. Leaving Nadeko to look at the young trio. She slouched as the smoke still filled the room, she was clearly sitting beneath someone, in between their legs. The being was much larger than her, an indication of a male. She looked on silently before speaking.
"So..you finally found me.."
A taller, lanky and skinny man sat above Nadeko. He looked at Yuki, Tengoku and Kasaru with a lack of interest. He exerted zero mana, and his existence alone surpassed any energy level Tengoku had felt in his life, excluding the top bosses that participated in the crime that his family was rather active in. Despite this, Tengoku stood strong in front of the two.
Yuki looked on in awe at the duo, completely taken aback by the two who combined gave off one of the strongest presences she has ever felt before.
"…Of course I did… you've been tracked this whole time…"
Nadeko reached in between her legs, pulling out the device that sat there. She tossed it across the room as if it were some kind of measily toy.
"I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. There was a small period of time that I was unaware..but I found out before I reached the base here. I let you come here..because I wanted your funeral to be a spectacle."
"My funeral?"
Yuki cocked her mana blasters that were holstered.
"Unlike you my army isn't filled with weaklings, one shot to the head and they're dead… my army is filled with soldiers. REAL soldiers…So I guess we'll see then right?"
"Your army? I don't see an army in front of me little girl. You and two men? What kind of army is that? Where are your REAL soldiers? I'll answer that question for you. They don't exist.."
Nadeko slowly came to a stand, her mana started to flood the area like a mist in a cold night, enveloping the room they were in. The figure that originally sat above her watched silently.
"Tell me..what is it exactly that you see with those eyes of yours? What do you think I see when I look back at you? What is it that we're going to see?"
"That's something for you to find out and for me to show you. I would say i'm a threat. A problem for you. I pose a danger."
Yuki combated the smoke with her own fog of darkness, her eyes shined a bright red before her own body became smoke itself, disappearing into the fog.
Nadeko watched, preparing for battle. Her mana slowly became more solid, making it harder to move for Tengoku and Yuki. Her eyes shined their own red as she prepared for anything from the three.
Yuki appeared diagonally to the left of Nadeko shooting off her blasters. One..Two…Three shots rang off at Nadeko.
Nadeko's mana moved in a defensive direction, blocking off the shots. The blasts crashed into the walls nearby. She looked to the left, chopping at Yuki as the red blood followed her movements.
Kasarus arms were engulfed in feathers as he clasped them together with his fingers straight, arms inverted and aiming at Nadeko, he fired off a barrage of sharp feathers and weaponised blood at her.
"Ngh!"
He had a plan, a dangerous one but one that might work. He understood this person also used blood based powers, if he could somehow land even the smallest of cuts on her and get his blood into her bloodstream, he could attack her from the inside.
Considering the gap between Kasaru and Nadeko, she was able to do the same things as him, but at a far higher level. Her mana protected her from Kasaru's feathers as they slammed into the shield of energy she created. Her extended aura started to materialize. They turned to projectiles themselves, firing away at Kasaru to keep him back while she focused on Yuki.
Yuki dodged backwards while helping Kasaru keep the ranged pressure on Nadeko, firing more mana bolts at Nadeko. Her bolts becoming increasingly strong between each shot.
"Oh you lot are annoying."
It was hard for Nadeko to protect herself from the constant shots. She needed to close the distance like before. She snapped her fingers, the click resonating throughout the entirety of the room.
The beast was clawed to the ceiling. She tracked Yuki with her red eyes..meeting those porcelain eyes. She jumped down and started prying into Yuki, slicing at her throughout the turmoil.
"NOPE! NOT HAPPENING AGAIN!"
Yuki dropped onto the beast to provide pressure to the monster before putting both blasters to its head and pulling the triggers, blowing holes straight through its dome.
Nadeko used the few seconds of the distraction to get behind Yuki, using both her hands she slammed them into the side of her head, ramming her ears with both her fists.
Nadeko felt her hands get binded as Kasaru's veins popped, he forced his blood to bind in hers to let Yuki get out of there.
"Yuki, get it the fuck together!"
He quickly relinquished the ability, gasping for air like he'd been strangled.
Nadeko looked at Kasaru next. She stood up fully and walked toward him.
"Your strategy is admirable. You plan to act as a distraction until one of you can land a good blow on me. My Tokubetsu is also inherently weak to your ability. You're linking to my biological make up in some capacity. It was smart to bring you along this time."
She had an irritated expression on her face, watching Kasaru's feathers fall towards the ground.
"I'm going to have to kill you first if I want to get anything done."
